Chapter 719: Mr. Lawrence's Hidden Depths

Upon hearing the voice, Bonnie looked up and smiled politely at Ahmed. "Ahmed, long time no see."

"Long time no see," Ahmed replied.

Yanis didn't greet Ahmed as formally as before and just nodded in response.

"And who is this?" Ahmed's gaze fell on Ivan.

Actually, Ahmed knew who Ivan was but pretended not to recognize him.

Bonnie introduced Ivan while holding onto his arm. "Ivan, this is Ahmed."

Ahmed reached out his hand towards Ivan. "Hello, Ivan."

Ivan looked at the extended hand but didn't shake it with a polite smile on his face. "Sorry, it's just a personal preference of mine not to shake hands with strangers."

When Bonnie and Yanis heard what Ivan said, they were shocked and looked at him simultaneously. When did he have such a personal preference? They had never heard of it before.

However, when Ahmad heard what Ivan said he silently withdrew his hand back. "It's OK".

Ahmed wanted to talk to Yanis after responding, but Yanis turned towards Zane and whispered something in a low tone instead.

Standing awkwardly in front of everyone, Ahmad tried to keep himself smiling since there were people around them watching them closely.

"Yanis," he said finally breaking the silence "there are several people over there from your previous class. Do you want me to go over there and say hello?"

Before Yanis could respond, Bonnie spoke up first with a hint of distance in her tone: "Ahmed, Yanis is here tonight accompanying Mr. Lawrence, so she might not be able to go over there together since we're all unfamiliar with each other." She paused for effect before continuing: "It wouldn't be appropriate for us to make small talk if we don't know each other well enough, so we'll stay here instead while you can go ahead."

Although her words sounded polite enough, the distance between them was palpable, which made Ahmad feel uneasy especially when he caught Zane looking at him directly. So after Bonnie finished speaking, he simply nodded once more. "Alright then, I'll go say hello by myself. See you guys later."

After Ahmad left, Bonnie frowned slightly. "Doesn't this guy have any shame? Can't he tell that nobody wants him around? He insisted on staying here even though nobody welcomed him. If I wasn't trying my best ladylike behavior earlier, I would've given him some lessons on how to behave properly."

After saying this, Bonnie seemed to have thought of something and turned to look at Ivan. "You really dare to speak up, and you have a personal reason for not liking to shake hands with strangers. When did you develop such a cleanliness obsession? Why didn't I know about it?"

Ivan smiled and said, "Just got it."

Bonnie chuckled, "This quirk is really timely."

"That's necessary. He's targeting on Yanis. How can I let him off easily?"

Bonnie nodded. "Yeah, I'll beat him up in a sack where no one is."

The speaker has no particular intention in saying something, but the listener reads his own meaning into it.

After Bonnie finished speaking, Zane leaned in to Yanis and whispered, "Yanis, should I have Albi bring over a burlap sack?"

Yanis didn't understand Zane's meaning at first, but after a moment of buffering, he finally got it and asked, "What do you want to do?"

"Punch him."

Yanis gently pinched his hand and said, "Forget it, dirtying your hands isn't worth it."

Zane nodded and said, "I'll listen to you."

"Zane, Yanis."

At this moment, Robin walked over and greeted Zane and Yanis, "Why didn't you guys come replace me? I was looking for you guys over there for a while." Robin only found out about Yanis and Ahmed's situation later, so now that he saw that Yanis and Zane were fine, Robin was relieved.

When Bonnie saw Robin, it took her a moment to recognize him. "I remember you!" she exclaimed.

Bonnie suddenly pointed at Robin and said, "I remember one time you went through Yanis's backpack!"

When Robin heard Bonnie's words, he coughed lightly and said, "When did this happen? Why don't I remember?"

Bonnie spoke with a firm tone, "It was you!"

When Yanis heard Bonnie's confident tone, she couldn't help but think of the incident where Bonnie had previously mentioned that Ahmed's love letter to her had disappeared from her backpack. "The thing Bonnie put in my backpack, you took them, didn't you?" Yanis also looked at Robin and asked aloud.

Robin instinctively looked at Zane and then laughed, "You guys must have remembered wrong, or maybe you got the wrong person? I'm not in the same department as you guys before. How could I possibly go through Yanis' backpack? Right?"

Robin looked at Zane and said, "Zane, say something. I didn't touch Yanis' backpack."

"I saw that Robin did move Yanis' book bag, took something and threw it in the trash."

Robin: "... Wasn't that what you asked me to do?"

Zane sold out Robin, and without hesitation, Robin sold out Zane.

When they both sold each other out like this, there was no need to ask any more questions. The answer was clear as day.

Bonnie hissed and looked Zane up and down. "Mr. Lawrence, you hid it well enough. You had feelings for our Yanis back then? Then why were you treating her like that before?"

Ivan spoke up at the right time. "Did I miss some big event?"

In fact, when they, Robin and Zane, exposed each other, the truth became clear.

Everyone knew it in their hearts without saying a word.

Sometimes love doesn't have to be shown; it's hidden deep inside one's heart.

Zane had feelings for Yanis a long time ago but went about expressing them in all the wrong ways.

But no matter what happened in the past, being able to be together happily now is the luckiest thing of all.

Just as everyone was chatting happily away, two people came over from one side and kept looking at Yanis' face with their eyes. "Hey! Isn't that Ahmed's fiancée? Why is she hugging someone else?"

Not only did Zane change his expression after hearing this, but also Yanis' smile instantly disappeared from her face too.

Coincidentally Libby came over from one side who knew these two men who were talking just now," Who are you guys talking about? Ahmed's girlfriend?"

One of them pointed at Yanis," Her! In the morning Ahmed brought her here to try on rings. We thought he was getting married soon. But how come she's already with someone else so soon. Ahmed has bad taste."

Zane lifted his foot ready to go forward but was stopped by Yanis instead. Then she looked towards those two men," Did Ahmed tell you guys I am his girlfriend?"

Before those two could speak up again, Yanis extended her hand wearing a ring, "I'm already married. I have nothing going on with Ahmed whatsoever, so don't spread rumors."
