Chapter 730 Ivan Is An Adult

Chapter 730 Ivan is an Adult

As Bonnie fell silent, Yanis pursed his lips and said, "Bonnie, take me to the police station."

Upon hearing Yanis' request, Bonnie immediately refused. "No way. You won't be able to do anything there and you're not fit to go right now."

Stella also chimed in with her advice. "Yanis, you have to trust Mr. Lawrence. He'll definitely handle this situation well."

Just as Yanis was about to speak up, the door of the hospital room suddenly burst open.

All three of them turned their heads towards the entrance.

As soon as she saw who had come in, Bonnie furrowed her brows slightly and took a couple steps forward towards Aunt Baxter. "Aunt Baxter... what brings you here?"

Before Bonnie could finish speaking though, Madison pushed her aside and walked straight up to Yanis before slapping him across the face with a loud smack that echoed throughout the empty hospital room. Stella quickly stepped in front of Yanis while looking at Madison incredulously. "What are you doing?"

Madison glared at Yanis with a dark expression on her face before saying in a low voice: "Yanis, what more do you want from Ivan? He's already engaged now! Why are you still clinging onto him like some kind of ghost? You've even caused him to be labeled as a murderer!"

"Aunt Madison!" Mila rushed into the room panting heavily before pulling Madison back by grabbing onto her arm tightly. "Please calm down first! This isn't just about Ivan - even Yanis is also a victim here..." "Mila! Why are you still defending her? If it weren't for her actions then Ivan wouldn't be locked up right now!" Madison interrupted Mila sharply.

After finishing what she wanted to say though, Madison turned back around and pointed at Yanis while speaking sternly: "If anything happens to Ivan because of this incident, I will never let it go!"

Mila looked at the red mark on Yan's cheek before frowning slightly: "This really has nothing to do with Yanis. The person who died wasn't exactly an upright citizen, and besides, the police haven't confirmed yet whether or not it was caused by anyone related to Ivan. And Mr. Lawrence has already hired a lawyer for this matter. It will definitely be handled properly."

Madison wanted to say something else, but Mila beat her to it."Please don't get too worked up. I'll ask my dad to see if he can replace out more about the current situation. I'm sure everything will turn out alright for Ivan."

Bonnie was initially angry at Madison for slapping Yanis, but she remembered that Ivan was still in the police station. So, she suppressed her anger and said, "Aunt Baxter, although Ivan is implicated in this matter, neither Zane nor us will let anything happen to him. Your coming here to replace trouble with Yanis won't do any good. You should go back first."

Madison looked at Bonnie coldly and said, "Bonnie, I thought you were a smart and sensible child. But now it seems like you're also a lost soul. Yanis has already reconciled with Zane and is still unclear about her relationship with Ivan. It's so lowly..."

"Mrs. Baxter!" Bonnie lowered her voice and directly addressed Madison as Mrs. Baxter.

"Ivan is an adult who chose to act on his own yesterday without anyone forcing him to do so," Bonnie continued calmly. "Yanis is a friend of Ivan's; if helping friends makes them lowly in your eyes then Mrs. Baxter's values are questionable."

Just as Madison was about to retort again, Bonnie spoke up once more, "Since Ivan is an adult who made his own decision, he should bear the consequences of his actions. If you don't have anything else important, then please leave or I'll call security!"

Yanis stood up, pulled Bonnie behind her, and looked at Madison."Mrs. Baxter, I'll say it again: I'm just friends with Ivan. I didn't cling onto him or make things unclear between us. You may not believe me, but he's your son, and you know what kind of person he really is. Even if he had feelings for me before, but now according to your request, he has engaged Mila. He hasn't done anything wrong towards Mila. We haven't crossed any boundaries either. So those words you just said not only insulted me but also insulted Ivan."

After saying these words, Yanis turned towards Mila, "Miss Hope, Ivan will be fine, don't worry."

Mila nodded, "I know."

After responding, Mila looked at Madison, "Auntie, Lets go back first. The situation regarding Ivan's case will be resolved soon enough."

Madison felt somewhat overwhelmed by both Bonnie's and Yanis' responses. However, she didn't lose any pride as she left the hospital room after saying one last thing: "Stay away from my son from now on!" With that, Madison left the room abruptly leaving everyone else behind

Mila sighed and looked at Yanis, whispering, "I'm sorry I didn't stop her. She was just worried about Ivan."

Yanis shook his head. "It's okay, I understand."

Mila's gaze fell on Yanis' face. "You should put something on your face. Mr. Lawrence would be heartbroken if he saw you like this."

Yanis nodded. "Go check on Aunt Baxter, I'll be fine."

"Mm-hmm," Mila replied before leaving.

After Mila left the room, Bonnie stepped forward to examine the marks on Yanis' face. "I can't believe she's so quick to judge!"

"I'll go ask the nurse for an ice pack," Stella said as she glanced at Yanis' face before leaving the room.

"Why didn't you let me speak earlier? If it weren't for Ivan, I would have wanted to beat her up! She doesn't have any sense as she is so much elder than us. I hate it." Bonnie exclaimed. "What she said wasn't wrong though. Ivan got involved because of me," Yanis replied calmly.

"Ivan is a wise person who doesn't act impulsively; he protected you not only because he likes you but also because of their friendship," Bonnie explained while looking at Yanis intently. "You dare say that if something happened to Ivan, you could just stand by and watch?"

"No."

"That's right! Even though Ivan is engaged to Mila now and isn't an irresponsible person who would hurt others intentionally anymore - even though he may still have feelings for you - he won't use someone else as a rebound from forgetting about you impulsively."

Yanis took a deep breath before saying: "Bonnie, let's go to the police station together; otherwise, I won't feel relieved."

Now that things had come this far, Bonnie couldn't refuse her proposal any longer: "Okay, but we need to tell Zane first." Yanis didn't object: "I'll call him."

She picked up his phone from beside him and dialed Zane's number. The phone rang for a long time without anyone answering it. Just then Stella walked in with an ice pack in hand, "Here, put this on your face first."

Bonnie took the ice pack from Stella gently and placed it onto Yanis' bruised cheek,"Wait until your bruises fade away before going there. If Zane sees how beaten up you are right now, he might lose control over himself and do something rash against the Baxter family, which will make things difficult for Ivan."
