Chapter 740: The World is Full of Wonders

Yanis agreed with Bonnie's words. The world is vast and filled with all sorts of strange people.

"But you should be fine, right?" Yanis still worried about Bonnie.

Bonnie shook her head. "I'll be fine. It's just a simple investigation, stating the facts about what happened at that time. Besides, the forensic report already concluded that it was his own problem. It has nothing to do with us. Don't overthink it."

Yanis looked at her. "I'm just worried about you."

Bonnie held Yanis' hand and walked toward the store. "There's nothing to worry about. If you're really concerned, you should worry about Mr. Lawrence. Ahmed's family is targeting him now. Ivan and I are just extras."

Yanis sighed. "He's afraid of worrying me, so he doesn't tell me everything."

"Surely, he knows what he's doing. If there really is something serious, he won't keep it from you. It can be resolved, so he doesn't want you to worry unnecessarily," Bonnie reassured.

As Bonnie spoke, Yanis glanced at her. "Miss Cooke, you've been acting strange lately."

"Who's strange?"

"You, Bonnie Miss Cooke," Yanis replied.

"What's strange about me? I mean, the topic we were just discussing was Zane, not me. How did it suddenly shift to me..." Bonnie's words halted abruptly as she forcefully pulled Yanis toward herself.

Then, a loud crash echoed as the sound of shattered glass filled the air. A white car rammed into the store where Yanis and Bonnie were standing, smashing the display cases into pieces.

Yanis and Bonnie couldn't avoid it and fell to the ground, surrounded by shards of glass.

Bonnie's back was covered in glass fragments, and Yanis wasn't faring any better.

Linda, Stanley, and Wendy, who had heard the commotion, rushed over.

They were startled when they saw the scene.

"Boss, Yanis, are you alright?" Linda hurriedly reached out to help Yanis and Bonnie.

But before Linda could lend a hand, the car that had crashed into the store suddenly accelerated, emitting a roaring sound.

Stanley, seeing that the car was about to reverse, instinctively grabbed Yanis' arm and pulled her to the side.

The car's wheel scraped past Yanis' foot as it quickly backed out.

If it weren't for Stanley's quick reaction to pull Yanis away, her foot would have been run over.

The scene just now left everyone shaken.

"Yanis, are you okay?" Bonnie, who was helped up by Linda, also noticed what had happened.

If it weren't for Stanley's swift action, Yanis' foot would have been seriously injured.

Yanis shook her head. "Don't move." She then looked at Wendy. "Call an ambulance."

Wendy responded, "Okay."

Then, Yanis turned to Linda. "Linda, call the police."

Linda nodded, supporting Bonnie as they moved to the side before quickly taking out her phone to call for help.

Clearly, the other party didn't plan to let it end there. After reversing the car, it changed direction and drove into the store once again.

Everyone was on guard this time and moved aside. The commotion had attracted quite a crowd around them. Such actions were nothing short of attempted murder.

"Is this person insane?" Stanley exclaimed, covered in shattered glass, some shards piercing his arms. It was hot outside, and everyone was wearing short sleeves, making them vulnerable to unexpected harm.

"Let's get out of here! This person is definitely crazy!" Stanley supported Yanis as they hurried outside, while Wendy helped Bonnie.

"What's going on?" People from the neighboring shops also came out to see what happened.

"Boss Thompson, did you offend someone?" the neighboring shop owner asked Yanis.

Yanis shook her head, looking at the car that was still struggling to reverse and leave. "Please make some room, don't get hurt."

Several men who were familiar with Yanis and Bonnie took advantage of the situation. They approached the car, opened the door, and pulled the driver out, pinning them to the ground.

"Boss Cooke, Boss Thompson, do you know this person?" someone asked.

Yanis and Bonnie glanced at each other, shaking their heads. They had never seen this person before.

"Leave it to the police," someone suggested.

The glass shards stuck in Bonnie's back caused her great pain, and she was drenched in sweat. Yanis endured the pain, waiting for the police to arrive. However, the police were slower than the ambulance. "You two go to the hospital first. I'll stay here," Wendy instructed Yanis and Bonnie before helping them onto the ambulance. She then asked Linda and Stanley to accompany her to the hospital.

Two other employees remained in the shop, standing with Wendy. As soon as the ambulance left, the police arrived. With witnesses all around, they listened to the retelling of the incident and took the culprit to the police station.

The shop had suffered significant damage, and the police cordoned off the area.

At the same time, at the Lawrence Group building.

After receiving the news, Albi forgot to knock and barged into Zane's office. "Mr. Lawrence, something happened!"

In the office, Zane and Finnley both looked at Albi.

"What happened?" Zane asked urgently.

"Mrs. Lawrence and Miss Cooke have been sent to the hospital," Albi exclaimed. "I don't know the extent of their injuries yet."

As soon as Albi finished speaking, Zane stood up. "Are their injuries severe?"

"We don't know yet."

Zane walked toward the door and looked at Finnley. "We'll discuss this later."

Finnley nodded. "You go ahead. If you need any help, just ask."

Zane acknowledged and dialed Yanis' phone while walking out. However, no one answered the call.

"Which hospital did they go to?"

"No. 1 Hospital."

Zane's face darkened as he entered the elevator and tried calling Yanis again, but with no response. Just as he was about to hang up, someone picked up the phone.

"Yanis?"

"Mr. Lawrence?" It wasn't Yanis on the other end of the line but Wendy's voice. "Yanis and Bonnie have both been taken to the hospital. My phone was damaged and I just managed to retrieve it." Zane inquired about the situation from Wendy, who briefly explained what had happened.

"I understand. Keep me updated."

After ending the call, Zane looked at Albi and urged in a low voice, "Drive faster!"

Upon hearing Zane's words, Albi silently accelerated and headed towards No. 1 Hospital.
