Chapter 772: What Is She Doing? Good Words About the Deceased?

Yanis chuckled and glanced at Stanley and the others who were busy. "You guys have been busy these past two days?"

"Crazy busy. The boss is sitting at home while we handle all the work. We have to organize things and run wedding events," Linda said, taking a sip of her coffee. "The boss has been taking on a lot of wedding planning projects lately. Stanley and I are running around like crazy."

"Is it a lot?" Yanis asked Linda.

Linda nodded. "Tons."

At that moment, Stanley finished his task and approached with a cup of coffee. "Yanis, could you talk to the boss and give us a break? We haven't had a proper rest in days. This pace is going to kill us." Yanis smiled. "Alright, tonight I'll talk to her and ask them to give you some time off."

Linda clapped her hands. "Hey, I told you Yanis is our savior!"

Stanley raised his fist to Yanis. "Thank you for saving us, Yanis. I, Chen Mou, have nothing to offer but myself!"

"What are you thinking, you pervert?" Linda gave Stanley a slap on the hand.

"No, I mean I want to join Yanis as her assistant. It's just a figure of speech. Your mind is dirty," Stanley explained.

Linda rolled her eyes. "If you want to switch jobs, go ahead. Why use such fancy words?"

"Just drink your coffee," Stanley said, looking at Linda with disdain.

Linda snorted. "It's your own poor choice of words, don't blame me!"

"Alright, you guys keep busy. I won't bother you with other things. If you need any help, you can give me a call. I have some free time these days," Yanis said.

Linda and Stanley nodded. "Okay."

Linda accompanied Yanis to the door and whispered when no one was following, "Yanis, how is the boss doing lately? I wanted to go see her with Stanley, but we're afraid of saying something unpleasant that might upset her, so we haven't dared to go."

"It's fine, she's doing well. I'll let her know another time and ask her to treat you guys to a meal, to show her appreciation," Yanis reassured.

Linda nodded. "As long as the boss is okay, we don't worry. Yanis, please send her our regards."

Yanis nodded. "Sure, I'll pass on your message."

Yanis drove to the small villa and bought some things on the way.

Since Myles left, Bonnie moved into the small villa and hadn't been out much.

They hired a nanny, a gentle woman in her forties who was meticulous in her work.

Every day, she would prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for Bonnie, then tidy up and go home, returning the next day.

Time flew by, and it had already been a week since Myles' departure.

Tomorrow would be the seventh day, and Bonnie would definitely go to visit Myles. Yanis wanted to accompany Bonnie to pay her respects, so she planned to stay at the small villa tonight. After parking the car, Yanis entered the house.

"Miss Thompson is here," the nanny approached and took the things from Yanis, then turned and called out, "Miss Cooke, Miss Thompson is here."

Bonnie heard the voice and came out from the living room. "Yanis."

Yanis responded and changed her shoes at the entrance. "I bought you some things and fruits."

Bonnie looked at Yanis changing her shoes and spoke, "I already asked the nanny to buy them every day. Why did you buy so much? I can't eat that much alone."

"You're not alone now," Yanis replied and looked at her. "How have you been feeling these past two days?"

"I'm okay now, not as uncomfortable as the first few days," Bonnie said.

The nanny placed the items properly and timely added, "Everyone's body reacts differently. Some people have no reaction at all. Miss Cooke's situation is relatively mild. Severe cases can't even drink water." Yanis could understand this to some extent. She had also experienced discomfort during that time, but compared to Bonnie, Bonnie's situation was definitely much easier.

"So why did Zane invite you over today?" Bonnie greeted Yanis and looked at her, asking.

"I was supposed to go to the detention center this afternoon, but I really didn't want to go, so I didn't. I let him go by himself," Yanis replied.

Upon hearing Yanis' words, Bonnie looked up at her and asked, "To visit Lucia?"

Yanis nodded. "When my dad left, he told Zane to go and check on her, but Zane never went. This time, they called from the detention center. Lucia hasn't been doing well lately, so they wanted a family member to go and see her."

"Then Zane should go by himself. Why did he ask you to go too?" Bonnie questioned.

"They said Lucia wanted to see me," Yanis explained.

Bonnie let out a disdainful hum upon hearing that. "What does she want? To speak good words about the deceased?"

Yanis shook her head, not delving further into Lucia's situation. Whether it was good or bad, it had nothing to do with her. She wasn't a magnanimous person who could pretend that the past never happened. Especially thinking about that child, even now, Yanis felt a chill run down her spine.

What she couldn't understand was how, even if Lucia didn't like her, that child was Zane's. How could she be so heartless? So even if they had a chance to meet again, Yanis had no intention of reconciling or forgiving.

Bonnie handed an apple to Yanis and said, "Don't worry about her affairs. If there's really something serious, it's Zane's business."

Yanis acknowledged with a sound and didn't want to discuss Lucia's matters any further. She smoothly changed the topic, "Should we send a video to Ivan now?"

Bonnie nodded in response, "Wait for me to tidy up a bit. It'll scare Ivan like this."

Yanis glanced at Bonnie's face, "Isn't it fine?"

Bonnie shook her head, "No, I don't know if I washed my face this morning. Anyway, I stay at home every day, sometimes I don't even wash my face." "Then go freshen up, and we'll call him later," Yanis suggested.

Bonnie responded, "I'll be ready soon."

Bonnie went upstairs, changed her clothes, washed her face, and casually tied her hair up. "Yanis, is this better?"

Yanis looked at Bonnie upon hearing her voice, "Very pretty!"

Bonnie smiled and picked up the tablet that was placed aside, and made a video call to Ivan.

After sending the video, the call rang several times before it connected. However, the person who appeared on the screen wasn't Ivan, but Darin.

"Mr. Walsh?" Bonnie was somewhat shocked to see that it was Darin.

Darin acknowledged, "Yanis, Miss Cooke."

Yanis responded, "Where's Ivan? Isn't he there?"

Darin turned the camera directly to the front and said, "He hasn't woken up yet. He only went to sleep in the early hours of this morning."
