Chapter 839: Actually, Zane is not a bad person, you two are a good match.
Teddy didn't take Ivan's sermon to heart and firmly believed he wouldn't end up like Ivan. Ivan, seeing Teddy's nonchalant attitude, didn't bother saying anything further. "Why are you guys so slow?" Bonnie spoke up as she saw Ivan and Teddy enter.
Teddy walked forward and rudely pulled out a chair to sit down. "He was trying to give me a lesson."
Bonnie looked at Teddy and asked, "What kind of lesson?"
Teddy poured himself a glass of water and took a sip before replying, "Now that you have a child and Yanis is married, he feels like my singledom is bothering him."
Bonnie chuckled lightly after hearing Teddy's words. "Why don't you two compromise?"
Teddy shook his head vigorously. "No, I'd rather spend my life alone than compromise with him."
Ivan interjected at the right moment, "With the way you are, you're destined to spend your life alone."
"But don't you have me to accompany you?"
"Teddy, your words are just asking for trouble. Ivan is handsome and charming, and do you really think no one wants to marry him?" Bonnie defended Ivan.
Teddy snorted in response, "Yeah, yeah, who is Ivan? With his charm and good looks, I'm sure there's a line of people wanting to marry him. I'll just embrace my solitude."
"Isn't this topic getting a bit too serious?" Yanis interjected, placing a glass of water in front of Bonnie and pouring a cup for Ivan as well.
Teddy, seeing this, clicked his tongue. "Seems like I shouldn't have come tonight. No one is even pouring me a glass of water."
Ivan handed his own glass of water to Teddy. "Tonight, just drink water and don't eat anything."
Teddy glanced at Ivan and muttered, "Fine, I'll pour it myself."
Yanis stood up. "Come, I'll pour it for you."
Teddy handed his cup to Yanis. "Thank you."
With Teddy's presence, the atmosphere became much lighter with all the laughter and jokes.
As Ivan's flight was around 2 o'clock, they all left Banyan Garden after finishing their meal.
"Let's leave your cars here for now. We'll take my car and I'll bring you back to pick up your cars after dropping off Ivan." Teddy stood at the door, whispering to Yanis and Bonnie. Yanis nodded. "Sounds good."
"Then I'll go get the car."
Bonnie exclaimed, "I'll go with you. I ate too much and need some movement."
After Bonnie finished speaking, she followed Teddy's lead and left.
Once Teddy and Bonnie had left, only Yanis and Ivan remained at the entrance.
Yanis took the initiative to speak, "When are you coming back after this trip?"
Ivan fell silent for a few seconds before answering, "We'll see. Maybe when Bonnie gives birth."
"Ivan, you..."
"Yanis, I know what you're going to say. Didn't we agree to maintain what it is now? Let's not bother with superficial conversations. It's meaningless."
Before Yanis could finish her sentence, Ivan interrupted her.
Yanis paused her words, saying nothing.
Ivan responded and turned to her, saying, "Yanis, there's something I haven't told you."
"What is it?"
"Well, I actually think Zane is a good guy, and you two make a great match."
Upon hearing Ivan's words, Yanis couldn't help but chuckle. "When did you realize that he's a good guy? And when did you realize that we make a great match?"
Ivan appeared to ponder seriously for a moment. "I guess it was when he started acting like a decent person."
Yanis found his answer somewhat amusing. She was about to say something when a familiar voice came from behind. "So, Ivan, tell me, when did I stop being a decent person?" Upon hearing the voice, Yanis turned around and looked. "What are you doing here?"
Zane approached casually and embraced Yanis. "I came to have dinner with clients. Albi is entertaining them with drinks. I stepped out to take a call and happened to see you guys." Ivan glanced at Zane and asked, "Are you sure you're not following us?"
Zane looked at Ivan and replied, "You said I'm not a decent person, so what's wrong with me following you guys?"
Ivan muttered, "You're really..."
"Not likeable, huh?" Zane finished Ivan's sentence. "Whether you like me or not doesn't matter. As long as Yanis likes me, that's enough."
Ivan felt he shouldn't have given Zane any face or bothered talking to him.
Before he could retort, Zane's voice rang out again. "But I agree with the other thing you said."
Ivan didn't need to ask; he knew what Zane was referring to. "Is it too late to take it back now?"
"Too late," Ivan nodded. "Alright."
After checking the time, Ivan looked at Yanis and continued, "You don't have to accompany me to the airport. Go back with him instead. Let Bonnie and Teddy give me a ride." Yanis was about to speak, but Zane interjected, "Leaving?"
"Otherwise, should we stay here and fight each other?" Ivan retorted.
"Well, that's an option too. I'll let you off the hook since you're my... brother-in-law," Zane's sudden remark left both Yanis and Ivan momentarily taken aback.
But it was only a blink of an eye before Ivan responded to Zane's words. "If that's the case, I'm not the only one who fits that description. Are you sure you want to take on both of us?" Zane raised an eyebrow. "Antonio doesn't have the guts."
Ivan felt that if he continued conversing with Zane, he would end up fighting him before leaving.
To prevent Yanis from intervening, Ivan chose to remain silent.
Fortunately, Teddy and Bonnie arrived just in time in the car.
Bonnie sat in the back seat and was a bit shocked when she saw Zane standing next to Yanis. "Is Mr. Lawrence here for a surprise inspection?"
Hearing Bonnie's words, Zane looked at her inside the car. "You're quite clever."
Bonnie snorted lightly. "Indeed. But rest assured, your surprise inspection today might be in vain. There's no one here on the danger list."
After saying this, Bonnie looked at Yanis. "Yanis, you go back with Mr. Lawrence. Teddy and I will be fine. Leave your car here, and I'll have Phoebe or Stanley come and drive it later." Yanis actually wanted to go and see Ivan off. "I'll go with you guys."
"I'll drive you," Zane chimed in after Yanis spoke.
Yanis looked at Zane and asked, "Weren't you here with the clients?"
"Albi is there, so it's fine. I'll be back later," Zane replied and took Yanis' hand, leading her down the steps. "Where did you guys park the car?"
