Chapter 852: Let's Stay Until the End

Bonnie looked at Sandy and said, "Why don't you try the feeling of being assassinated?"

Sandy quickly shook her head, "No way, I still want to live for another five hundred years!"

Bonnie replied with a blank expression.

Yanis and Bonnie stayed at Stella's house until around 10 o'clock in the evening before finally leaving in the car.

During this time, Zane called twice.

Yanis originally intended to go back, but Stella and Bonnie intentionally held her back, so they ended up delaying until almost ten o'clock.

On the way back, Bonnie slumped in the passenger seat, gazing at the buildings passing by in the rearview mirror, and softly called out to Yanis.

After hearing Bonnie's words, Yanis responded, "What's up?"

"Aren't you and Mr. Lawrence planning to have a baby, like Alfie? Your grandparents have been urging you about it, right?"

"We'll let things take their course."

Bonnie turned her head to look at Yanis. "Let things take their course? Is it that you don't want to or that Zane doesn't want to? Or maybe neither of you wants to?"

Yanis replied, "No, we are preparing for it too, but maybe the timing isn't right, so there hasn't been much progress."

"Well, why not get it checked?" Bonnie looked at Yanis. "I heard that it's easier to recover when you have a child at a young age, but it becomes slower as you get older."

Yanis smiled at the suggestion, "Okay, I'll go and have a check-up sometime."

Bonnie had intended to say more, but the words stopped at her lips. "When I go for my next prenatal check-up, I'll call you along and have Dr. Watson examine you. If there's any problem, we can treat it in time. If there's no problem, then take it slow."

Yanis nodded, "Okay."

"Why are you being so cooperative tonight?"

Yanis glanced at Bonnie, "If I argue back, will you lecture me all night?"

Bonnie snorted lightly, "Consider yourself smart."

"I know better."

"That's good."

Yanis looked at Bonnie, "Are you going back to the cottage tonight or to the old mansion?"

"I'll go back to the cottage."

Yanis nodded and drove towards the direction of the cottage.

After dropping Bonnie off at her doorstep and watching her go inside, Yanis finally drove away and returned to D-king Castle.

When Yanis arrived home, the lights in the living room were still on.

Yanis changed her shoes at the entrance, "Zane?"

Zane responded, "You're back?"

Yanis acknowledged with a sound and entered the living room, looking at the person sitting up on the sofa, "Why didn't you go back to the room to sleep? Didn't I tell you I would be coming back late?" Zane looked at Yanis, raised his hand, and patted the spot next to him, "Come here."

Yanis approached and sat down beside Zane.

Just as Yanis sat down, Zane reached out and pulled her into his embrace, "What did you have for dinner tonight?"

"Hot pot. Both Sandy and Bonnie wanted to eat it, so we made a split-pot hot pot. It was delicious," Yanis said, turning to Zane. "And what about you? What did you have for dinner?"

"I had dinner with Albi," Zane replied.

"Hmm?"

"We had something to take care of in the afternoon, so we had dinner outside before coming home," Zane explained.

"Oh, okay. Shall we go upstairs now?" Yanis asked.

"Are you tired?" Zane inquired.

Yanis replied, "I haven't showered yet. I want to take a bath. I also need to make some adjustments to a design sketch later, and I'm afraid it might get too late."

Zane checked the time and said, "Go ahead and make the adjustments first, then take a bath. I'll accompany you."

Upon hearing Zane's words, Yanis was slightly shocked. "You'll accompany me?"

Zane, noticing Yanis's reaction, curved his lips and said, "Yanis, what are you thinking?"

When Yanis met Zane's gaze, she realized that Zane meant to accompany her in editing the graphic, not in any other way.

"Nothing," Yanis quickly responded.

Yanis turned and headed upstairs.

Zane followed Yanis's steps, reaching out and holding her hand. "Yanis, what were you thinking just now?"

"Nothing," Yanis insisted.

"Yanis, what were you thinking?" Zane persisted.

"I wasn't thinking," Yanis replied.

"Yanis..."

"Zane! Stop it!" Yanis interrupted.

Zane fell silent, but a few seconds later, he chuckled softly. "Yanis, your ears are turning red."

Yanis remained speechless.

Editing the graphics took Yanis quite some time. While she was working on it, Zane sat nearby, looking at his tablet with a serious expression.

Unable to resist, Yanis stared at Zane for a while and asked, "Zane, what are you looking at?"

Upon hearing Yanis's voice, Zane looked up at her and said casually, "Just browsing. Have you finished editing?"

Yanis shook her head. "Not yet. Do you feel tired?"

"Not at all," Zane replied, placing his tablet down and standing up. He walked over to Yanis and gently squeezed her shoulders. "Are you in a hurry? If not, we can finish it tomorrow."

Yanis softly said, "It's not urgent, but I wanted to get it done tonight. I planned to send it along with the other materials tomorrow, so it would be more convenient."

After listening to Yanis, Zane spoke softly, "Then take your time to edit. I'll accompany you."

Yanis responded with an "Okay."

By the time Yanis finished editing the graphic, it was already late into the night.

"Zane, I'm done," Yanis called out.

Zane closed his tablet upon hearing her and replied, "I'll go help you with the water."

"Thank you," Yanis responded.

Zane stepped out of the study to prepare the bathwater for Yanis.

After saving the graphic and shutting down her computer, Yanis went to drink a glass of water before returning to her room.

"Yanis, I've brought everything for you." Zane's voice came from the bathroom as Yanis entered.

Yanis acknowledged him and stepped into the bathroom.

"Thank you, honey," Yanis rarely addressed Zane that way, usually only doing so when Zane relentlessly pushed her to her limits in bed.

But the consequence of calling him that was being vigorously teased.

Upon hearing Yanis's words, Zane looked at her face, then took a step forward. "Yanis, since I've already accompanied you in editing, I don't mind accompanying you in one more thing. Let's see it through to the end."

"What?" Yanis asked.

"I'll be with you," Zane said, his hand already unbuttoning Yanis's clothes.

Yanis didn't even have a chance to refuse, and Zane didn't give her an opportunity to speak.

Throughout the long night, they both worked up a sweat.

The next day, Yanis woke up past eight o'clock. When she opened her eyes, Zane was no longer by her side.

Yanis moved her body and couldn't help but curse Zane. "Bastard!"

After lying in bed for a while, Yanis finally got up, washed up, and went downstairs.

"Good morning, Mrs. Lawrence," the housekeeper greeted her.

"Good morning, Auntie. Has Zane left?" Yanis asked.

The housekeeper responded, "Mr. Lawrence said he went to the office. He asked you to remember to have breakfast and give him a call when you wake up."

Yanis nodded, saying, "I understand."

The housekeeper brought out breakfast for Yanis. "Mrs. Lawrence, please enjoy while it's hot."
