Chapter 872: Not Many Days Left

Chapter 872: Not Many Days Left

After listening to Mitch, Yanis softly said, "If you're leaving tomorrow, shall I take you to the airport?"

Mitch didn't refuse, "Alright."

Finishing his response, Mitch looked at Yanis and said, "Reed is at the hospital. I'll go and switch with her. Can you wait at home for a while?"

Yanis hesitated upon hearing this and said, "Let me go to the hospital with you. It's been a long time since I last visited your mom. Today is a good opportunity to go and see her." Mitch didn't refuse and accompanied Yanis to the hospital.

On their way to the hospital, Mitch inquired about some things concerning Allan in front of Yanis.

"Mitch, if you have thoughts in your mind, you can ask him directly," Yanis whispered.

Mitch shook his head, "I don't trust what he says."

Including the money from the last time, although Mitch didn't say anything on the surface, he still felt something was off in his heart.

If the money truly came from Nealon, then it should have been intended for Marnon. But it ended up with Allan. Based on this alone, Mitch found it somewhat unbelievable. However, he couldn't think of a reason why the money would be entrusted to Allan for safekeeping.

"It doesn't necessarily mean they're all fake."

Mitch fell silent for a moment. "I'll ask him again after I come back from Viteto. If he dares to speak, he's done for."

Yanis acknowledged with a sound, "You can talk to him together."

Mitch nodded, "Alright."

When the two entered Marnon's ward, Marnon was in the middle of a conversation with Reed. Mother and daughter were talking and laughing, appearing very happy.

"Mom."

Mitch called out first upon hearing their conversation.

Upon hearing Mitch's voice, Marnon turned around and looked towards the door. When she saw Mitch and Yanis, Marnon smiled at Yanis and said, "Why are you here?"

"I came to replace Reed," Yanis responded softly.

Upon seeing the packed belongings, Yanis asked, "Why did you pack everything?"

Reed replied, "My mom has been in the hospital for too long. She said she wants to go home for a couple of days, so I asked the doctor, and they said it's alright. We'll come back in a few days." Mitch furrowed his brows upon hearing this and said, "Why didn't you tell me anything?"

Marnon said, "Can't I make decisions on my own? Besides, the doctors have agreed. Do you have any objections?"

Mitch wanted to say something, but Marnon interrupted him, "You don't have to worry. I know my own body, and the doctors know it too. If they let me go home for a few days, it means it's fine." Mitch looked at Marnon and understood that she had been feeling uneasy staying in the hospital all this time, so he didn't say anything more.

"Then I'll go and handle the discharge procedures."

Reed said, "No need, we're being discharged temporarily. The doctors have already informed them, so there won't be any charges these few days. If we come back, they'll rearrange the ward for us." Upon hearing Reed's words, Mitch responded, "You pack your things."

Marnon looked at Yanis and said softly, "Why don't you accompany me outside for a walk? I've been here all day and don't know what it's like outside."

Yanis nodded, "Alright."

Yanis stepped forward and supported Marnon as they walked out of the hospital room together.

Before Yanis had a chance to say anything, Marnon's voice rang out, "I asked Mitch to go back to Viteto, check on his dad, and then come back. After that, I'm planning to go back too."

Yanis looked at her, puzzled, and asked, "Are you going back to Viteto as well?"

Marnon nodded, "This Manches City isn't the place I want to stay in. If it weren't for the children, I wouldn't have come here. But for the sake of the children, I had to."

Marnon's voice became soft, "Yanis, I know you've helped Mitch, Reed, and Payne a lot during this time. You don't have to do all this. Mitch's dad wants to help you voluntarily. You've already done enough." "These things were just things I did naturally. If it weren't for Mia's dad before, I wouldn't have made it this far," Yanis said in a low voice.

Marnon smiled, "I know you feel guilty in your heart, but many times, it's all fate. We can't escape what's written in our destiny."

As she spoke, Marnon paused for a few seconds, "Let them stay here in the city." Upon hearing Marnon's words, Yanis turned to her and asked, "What about you?" "Yanis, I don't have much time left. If I stay here, I'll only be a burden to them." "But Mitch said..."

"That child is too stubborn. He always thinks it's better for me to stay in the hospital, but I know better than anyone what my condition is like. They want me to stay in the hospital because they hope I can live a few more days, but this illness won't get better, even if I keep receiving treatment in the hospital."

Yanis hadn't realized that Marnon's condition had already become so severe.

Mitch never mentioned it, and she had thought that Marnon would be able to live a normal life after receiving treatment, but now it turned out to be such a result.

Yanis remained silent for a moment, looking at Marnon, she asked, "Do Reed and the others know?"

"Reed probably doesn't know, only Mitch knows," Marnon replied.

Yanis suddenly understood why Mitch insisted on keeping Marnon in the hospital all this time.

Outside the elevator, Marnon and Yanis walked to the entrance. "I saw Allan a couple of days ago too. I've said what needed to be said to him. From now on, Reed will be in his care. I can finally have peace of mind," Marnon said.

"You knew about it all along?"

"What can be hidden forever? Many things can be seen through at a glance. If he didn't like Reed, he wouldn't go to such lengths to make amends and want to settle down. That child is a good child, just unlucky. I only hope that they can be together in the future and be happy."

Yanis was surprised by Marnon's insight.

She had thought that Marnon would be the most difficult person to convince, aside from Mitch, regarding Allan and Reed's situation.

But she hadn't expected Marnon to be so understanding.

The two of them chatted for a while, and then Mitch and Reed came down.

"Mitch, take me around. Reed and Yanis will go buy groceries. I'll cook something delicious for you tonight," Marnon said, looking at Yanis. "Call Mr.

Lawrence and invite him to join us too."

Yanis nodded, "Okay."

Reed stepped forward and took the bag from Mitch's hand. "Bro, take Mom for a walk. Yanis and I will go buy groceries. We'll call you later."

Mitch agreed, taking out some money from his pocket and handing it to Reed. "You pay."

Reed took the money and said, "Alright, I got it."

After Mitch left with Marnon, Reed turned to Yanis and said softly, "Yanis, let's go."

Yanis agreed, reaching out to help Reed with the bag. "Let's put these things away first. I'll drive to buy groceries. The food around here at this time isn't that good." Reed nodded, "Okay."
