Chapter 884: It'S All Fate

Chapter 884: It's all Fate

Yanis had no energy the entire following day, but she still gathered herself and went with Zane to the Jones family.

The Jones family had only one daughter, Nancy, and her incident had aged Mr. and Mrs. Jones overnight. Mrs. Jones, in particular, had grown a head full of white hair in just one night. Yanis couldn't describe the feeling she had when she saw Mrs. Jones standing there with vacant eyes.

It felt as if a heavy stone had been lodged in her chest, making it difficult to breathe.

Yanis stood there absentmindedly until Zane came over and gently patted her shoulder, bringing her back to reality. She turned her head and looked at Zane, whispering, "I'm okay." Yanis composed herself and said, "Let me say hello, and then we can go back."

Zane nodded. "I'll wait here."

Yanis acknowledged with a sound, then walked toward Mrs. Jones. She greeted her and exchanged a few words before leaving the Jones family with Zane.

"When is Anika returning to South Hospital?" Yanis asked as they got into the car.

Zane replied, "In the evening. Iris took her back. The trip to Duncan Residence has been postponed until Iris returns from her business trip."

After listening to Zane, Yanis nodded. "Zane, can you drop me off at the store? Bonnie is there."

Zane turned to Yanis. "Don't you want to rest at home today?"

"No need. I'll go to the store."

Zane didn't say anything more when he heard Yanis' response. He simply drove her to the store.

Once the car was parked, Zane glanced at the store. Seeing Bonnie, Stella, and Sandy inside, he decided not to get out of the car. "I'll come to pick you up in the evening." Yanis unbuckled her seatbelt and murmured, "Okay."

She got out of the car, closed the door, waved goodbye to Zane, and entered the store.

Zane watched Yanis enter before driving away.

"Yanis." Stella called out as soon as she saw Yanis come in.

Upon hearing Stella's voice, Bonnie and Sandy turned to look at the entrance.

Yanis approached the three of them. "Why are you all sitting here?"

Bonnie scooted over to make room. "Did you visit the Jones family?"

Yanis acknowledged with a sound. "Just came back from there."

After Yanis sat down, Bonnie gently patted her shoulder. "It's all fate."

Regarding Nancy's situation, Bonnie had called Lane last night and was equally shocked upon hearing the details.

At first, Andrew had left a great impression on all of them.

But no one could have imagined that he was capable of such actions.

And Aunt Rivers' behavior was also shocking and left everyone speechless.

In this world, there are always things that make people feel helpless and insincere.

Nancy's life was probably doomed to be unlucky.

That's why she encountered Neve first and got caught up in it, losing her prideful job.

She thought that meeting Andrew later in life would bring stability, but little did she know that he wasn't a good person.

And because of him, she lost her life.

Perhaps all of this was her destiny, and if she couldn't overcome it, she would leave this world.

After discussing Nancy's situation for a while, Bonnie felt that the topic was too heavy, so she swiftly changed the subject and brought it to Sandy. "Sandy, have you stopped filming for a while?" Sandy acknowledged with a sound. "I want to take a break, but I have two endorsement deals during this period."

"And the house in Linglong Bay is almost ready for renovation. Aren't you planning to talk to Mr. Hawkins about your relationship?" Bonnie asked.

Sandy fell silent for a few seconds. "Mr. Hawkins... seems busy lately. He only replies to my messages in the early hours of the morning."

At this point, Sandy set down her water glass and looked at Stella. "Sis, I want to visit Viteto."

Stella looked at Sandy and asked, "You want to go alone?"

"Or maybe you can come with me? We can also visit Mr. Hawkins' mother," Sandy suggested.

Stella didn't refuse. "Let's wait for a couple of days. I'm a bit busy these days. Once everything at the store is sorted out, we can go."

As the conversation shifted, Stella looked at Yanis and said, "By the way, Fangxin said she would be taking a leave for these two days. Do you know what happened to her?"

Upon hearing this, Yanis looked at Stella. "She took leave?"

Stella acknowledged with a sound. "She called me last night, but I was half asleep and couldn't understand what she said. All I remember is that she said she needed two days off and couldn't come to the store."

Yanis replied, "I don't know. She's probably taking care of her mother."

Stella nodded. "That could be it."

The four of them spent the entire afternoon sitting in the store, chatting away.

They had planned to have dinner together in the evening, but Sandy received a phone call and left immediately. Stella had to rush back to the store due to a difficult customer causing trouble with the staff. In the end, only Yanis and Bonnie remained.

"Should we go to my place?" Bonnie asked Yanis in a low voice.

Yanis glanced at the time and raised her hand. "Honestly, I don't feel like going anywhere."

After saying that, Yanis laid back on the couch. "I dreamt of Nancy last night, pleading for me to save her. If it weren't for me..."

"Yanis, it has nothing to do with you. Absolutely nothing," Bonnie interrupted Yanis before she could finish her sentence.

Yanis looked at Bonnie and whispered, "Yesterday, Andrew sent someone to confront me at the store. Nancy called me afterward, warning me not to go out alone. But before she could finish speaking, I heard something happen on her end. When Lawyer Phillips and I arrived, she was already dead."

Yanis closed her eyes, and the image of Nancy lying in the restroom filled her mind.

Bonnie gently smoothed out the furrowed brow on Yanis' forehead. "Don't think too much about it. You only wanted to help her. Even if you hadn't introduced Lane toher, she would have found another lawyer. The outcome might have been even worse. Perhaps the current ending is the best it could be."

Yanis reached out and held Bonnie's hand. "Every time I close my eyes, I can't help but see her lying in the restroom."

"Don't keep dwelling on it. No one wants such a thing," Bonnie said.

As the conversation reached this point, Bonnie looked at Yanis and asked in a low voice, "Yanis, did you meet Aunt Madison at Banyan Garden yesterday?"

Yanis opened her eyes upon hearing Bonnie's question. "I did. She wanted to talk, but I refused. Later, she fainted, and when they took her to the hospital, I didn't go with her."

Bonnie understood Yanis' feelings. "Did you tell Ivan about this?"

"Uncle Ryan said he would tell Ivan. Besides, it's someone else's business. I shouldn't get involved," Yanis said softly.

Bonnie paused for a moment upon hearing Yanis' words, then murmured in agreement, imitating Yanis' posture and lying down on the couch. "Let's not worry about it. After all, it's someone else's matter."
