Chapter 886: Brandon, Don't You Want to See Me?
Zane responded and came out of the kitchen, looking at the doctor standing next to Brandon. "Let's go."
After the examination, no issues were found. The doctor concluded, "It's probably just exhaustion. Rest for now and if needed, we can administer some nutrients tomorrow to prevent further physical strain." Zane furrowed his brows. "No problems at all?"
"That's correct, everything appears normal. Have you done a comprehensive check-up elsewhere?" the doctor asked Zane.
After asking this question, the doctor added, "I mean a detailed full-body examination."
"We've done all the necessary check-ups," Zane replied.
"In that case, there shouldn't be any problems. Rest well, don't overthink it, and try to relax. You'll gradually get better," the doctor advised.
Hearing the doctor's words, Zane nodded. "Okay, thank you."
"You're welcome."
Brandon glanced at Zane and then turned to the doctor. "I'll walk you out."
While Brandon went to see the doctor off, Zane looked at Yanis. "Do you want to sleep a bit longer? I made some porridge. I'll call you later."
Yanis murmured in agreement and settled back down, closing her eyes.
Zane stayed with her for a while before leaving the room.
As Zane stepped out, Brandon was on a call in the living room, gesturing for Zane to check the kitchen.
Zane nodded and entered the kitchen.
"Are you coming tomorrow?" Brandon asked upon hearing Sandy's voice from the phone.
Sandy responded, "Originally, I was planning to come with my sister to visit Auntie, but she couldn't make it due to some commitments. So, I'll come alone."
"Sandy, wait until I finish things here, and then I'll come see you. I don't feel comfortable with you coming alone," Brandon reassured her in a gentle and soothing tone.
"Brandon, don't you want to see me?" Sandy's voice on the phone carried a hint of sadness.
Hearing Sandy's tone, Brandon's attitude immediately changed. "Sandy, it's not that I don't want to see you. It's just that your situation makes it inconvenient and inappropriate for you to come alone. I worry about you, understand?"
Sandy hesitated for a moment and tentatively suggested, "Then, can I come with my friend? That way, you won't have to worry."
Brandon originally intended to say something more, but Sandy's voice came through the phone before he could respond. "Brandon, it's been a long time since I've seen you. Don't you miss me? I miss you so much. It's been two or three months since we last met. Don't you miss me even a little?"
Listening to Sandy's words, Brandon was tempted, but he remembered that he still had unresolved matters on his end. Even if Sandy came over, he wouldn't have time to spend with her. Brandon's plan was to settle everything here before seeing Sandy, so he would have enough time to be with her.
But now, hearing Sandy speak this way, how could Brandon not want to see her?
"Brandon, is it okay? If not, I can come with Jones. Later, I'll make sure she returns to Manchester City on her own. Is that alright?" Sandy proposed.
"Sandy, can you wait two more days?" Brandon asked.
"No!" Sandy refused. "I want to come right now!"
Brandon rubbed his forehead and sighed. "I'm really busy these days, and I don't have enough time or free time to accompany you if you come over. If you stay here, you can chat with your sister in Manches City. But here..."
"I can also spend time with Yanis there. And if worse comes to worst, you can take me to Aunt Jillian's place. I can chat with Aunt Jillian and your sister," Sandy interrupted Brandon before he could finish his
sentence.
Brandon realized that Sandy was determined to come over right now. Finally, under Sandy's persuasion, Brandon could only nod in agreement. "Come tomorrow, schedule your arrival around noon, and I'll pick you up at the airport."
Excited, Sandy shouted, "Brandon, see you tomorrow!"
Brandon replied, "Tell me the time of your flight and when you'll be landing."
With that, Brandon paused and asked, "Who are you coming with tomorrow? Jones?"
Sandy replied, "Well, if there's someone with me, you won't have to worry. Besides, I promise you won't even recognize me when you see me."
Hearing Sandy's words, Brandon still felt the need to remind her gently, "Please be careful, I'll worry about you."
"Got it. I'll go pack my luggage now," Sandy said.
Brandon acknowledged and ended the call. Afterward, he hesitated but ended up checking the flight time himself. He purchased a ticket for Sandy for the following day, with a flight departure time of a little past 9 in the morning, arriving at noon.
He only had the noon time slot available to pick her up; the rest of the day was occupied.
After buying the ticket, Brandon sent the flight information to Sandy and reminded her once again to be careful tomorrow.
Meanwhile, in Manches City...
Sandy hummed a tune as she sorted her clothes. When her phone rang, she picked it up and glanced at it. Seeing the flight information Brandon sent, a faint smile formed on her lips.
Just as Sandy was about to reply to Brandon's message, another call came in. As her finger was ready to type, it accidentally touched the answer button.
After the call connected, Sandy finally saw who was calling.
"Mr. Austi?"
"Do you have time tonight? Do you want to go out? I heard there's a light show or something similar in the suburbs of Manches City. Would you like to go?" Anthony's voice came through the phone. "A light show?" Sandy asked.
Anthony confirmed, "I heard it's beautiful, and there are many fun things. I thought you girls would enjoy it. Plus, I have seats in the front. I wanted to ask if you have time to go together." Setting aside his status as a celebrity, Sandy was someone who loved to have fun. So, after hearing Anthony's words, she couldn't help but be intrigued.
"But I can't go out now. My sister won't let me wander around at night."
Anthony reassured her, "You don't need to worry. I'll be with you, just like last time when you dressed up as a man. I guarantee no one will recognize you." Sandy responded, "But last time, you recognized me at first glance, didn't you?"
Anthony chuckled, "I'm different from others. Others definitely won't recognize you at first glance. Besides, didn't Zane also fail to recognize you that day?"
As Sandy thought about Anthony's words, she realized it was true. Zane even mistook her for Yanis at first!
Considering this, Sandy agreed, "Can you please come and pick me up? I'll share my location with you."
Anthony replied, "No problem. Give me your location, and I'll come over now."
Sandy provided her location to Anthony. "I'll be waiting for you at the entrance."
Anthony responded with an "Okay."
"It's not that exaggerated, just a little busy with some small matters. I didn't have time to reply to her messages," Brandon replied, taking out a cigarette from his pocket. "Our project is coming to an end. Are you planning to go back after it's finished?"
Zane hesitated for a moment and said, "I'll see how it goes. If there's enough time, I'll wait until the project is completed before going back. If not, I'll figure it out."
Brandon said, "It'll only be a couple more days. She's not feeling well right now, so it's better for you to wait until she's a bit better before leaving."
"We'll see when the time comes," Zane replied without giving a definite answer.
"Alright, we'll see then," Brandon said, finishing his cigarette. "Do you need any help?" "No, thanks."
Just as Brandon was about to say something, the doorbell rang.
Brandon glanced towards the door. "That should be the doctor. Let me go and check."
Brandon turned and opened the door. It was the private doctor he had contacted earlier.
"Mr. Yang, long time no see," the doctor greeted. He had previously conducted an examination for Aunt Jillian and was somewhat familiar with Brandon. Brandon nodded. "A friend of mine is sick. Can you please examine her?"
"No problem."
Brandon invited the doctor to the living room and then looked towards Zane, who was busy in the kitchen. He called out, "Mr. Lawrence, could you come and have a look?"
