Chapter 891: That Man Is Dead
Chapter 891: That Man is Dead
Upon hearing Sandy's conversation with Jones, Anthony glanced at her. "What's wrong?" "It's nothing, just a minor issue. Just take me there directly," Sandy whispered.
Anthony acknowledged and instructed Hiruma to drive them to Blueocean Apartment.
During the journey, Sandy kept her head down, chatting with Jones through her phone.
Apparently, a few days ago, while Sandy was filming, she encountered a male fan who wanted her autograph. Feeling uncomfortable, Sandy declined the request. Unfortunately, the paparazzi misunderstood
the situation, and now there was a video circulating of Sandy dressed as a man, holding hands with someone and running wildly through the streets.
Sandy hadn't mentioned the reason for coming here tonight to anyone, not even Stella, and had even lied in front of her.
The only ones who knew about Sandy and Anthony coming here were Anthony and Hiruma.
But obviously, it couldn't be them in the video.
Because the video also captured Hiruma chasing after them.
"Got caught on camera?"
Just as Sandy was watching the video attentively, Anthony's voice suddenly rang in her ears.
After hearing Anthony's words, Sandy glanced at him and didn't hide the truth. "There were paparazzi over here, but... I'm curious how they recognized me." Anthony's gaze fell on Sandy's phone. "Can I see it?"
Sandy handed him the phone.
Anthony took it and replayed the video. "This person seems to be ahead of us."
"And there are photos too."
After hearing Sandy's words, Anthony exited the video and glanced at the photos.
"They've been following you since you left home?"
Sandy nodded. "It seems like it. And they must have been waiting outside my building, otherwise they wouldn't have been so sure it was me." Sandy was well aware of her disguise.
So the person taking the photos must have been staking out the building for more than one day.
Anthony handed the phone back to Sandy. "Does it affect you a lot?"
"It does have an impact, but I don't know if it's significant," Sandy replied, not paying much attention to such matters.
However, her biggest concern was that innocent people might get involved.
Especially Anthony and the others.
Sometimes, what you fear the most comes true.
As this thought crossed Sandy's mind, Jones called again.
Sandy answered the call, but before she could speak, Jones's voice rang out, "Sandy, do you know Aaron? Are you dating him?"
Upon hearing Jones's words, Sandy was taken aback. "Don't you know who I'm dating?"
"That's what they're saying online. There are even photos of you together, especially from the past few days, and each one looks very intimate." "Jones, we're just friends."
"I believe what you're saying, but others won't."
After saying that, Jones paused for a moment. "And tonight, were you two together? Did a fan confess their feelings to you?"
Sandy acknowledged Jones's words with a soft "Hmm." "So you know everything?"
"That man who confessed to you tonight is dead."
As soon as Sandy heard Jones's words, her face instantly changed, and her tone involuntarily became heightened. "What are you saying?"
"That person who confessed to you tonight is dead. He was pressed into the water in a small river on the outskirts and drowned..."
Sandy didn't hear anything else Jones said after that.
"Sandy?"
Jones called her name twice on the other end of the phone before Sandy snapped out of her thoughts. "I'll come to your place right away... Actually, I'll go straight to the company. Let's meet there." After ending the call, Sandy looked pale and turned to Hiruma, who was driving.
"Did you guys kill him?" Sandy asked directly.
Hiruma was startled by Sandy's question. "Who died?"
"The person who confessed to me tonight. She's dead, drowned in that small river over there."
Upon hearing Sandy's words, Hiruma slammed on the brakes, bringing the car to a stop. He then turned to Sandy. "Someone died? How do you know?"
Anthony's expression also changed. "Didn't you say the person was fine?"
Hiruma replied, "She is fine. I saw her climb out of the water myself."
After saying that, Hiruma grumbled and handed his phone to Anthony. "I even recorded a video. I just posted it in our group."
Anthony took Hiruma's phone, glanced at it, and then passed it to Sandy. "Ask him when this happened."
Sandy checked the time on her phone and immediately called Jones.
"Jones, when did it happen?" Sandy asked.
"Ten minutes ago," Jones replied.
Sandy glanced at the timestamp on the video, which was roughly ten minutes ago.
"He was perfectly fine ten minutes ago," Sandy said, looking at Anthony, gesturing for him to forward the video to her. Understanding her intention, Anthony forwarded the video from Hiruma and also sent Sandy a screenshot of the video's timestamp. "I'll send you a video and screenshot later," Sandy said.
"Okay."
Sandy ended the call and sent the screenshot and video to Jones.
"Please head straight to Gotrend Entertainment," Jones replied.
This incident quickly became a hot topic.
Even before Sandy arrived at the company, Haider called her. "Mr. Hughs."
"Did Jones contact you?" Haider asked on the other end.
Sandy confirmed, "I'm on my way to the company now."
"Let's discuss it when we meet at the company," Haider said. "Okay," Sandy replied.
After ending the call, Sandy remained silent.
Hiruma parked the car near the entrance of Gotrend Entertainment and turned to Sandy. "Miss Thompson, we didn't do this."
"I know. You guys can go back now," Sandy said, opening the car door and getting out, heading straight into Gotrend Entertainment.
Anthony watched as Sandy entered the building before turning to Hiruma. "Where are the others?"
"They've all gone back to the black market. Should I call them to come here?" Hiruma suggested.
Anthony whispered, "Go to the police station and tell them everything you've done in detail. As long as it wasn't your doing, no one should bear this responsibility." Hiruma naturally believed Anthony. "Alright, I'll call them now."
Anthony nodded. "Let's go."
Inside Gotrend Entertainment, Sandy had just entered when she received another call, this time from Stella.
"Sis, I'm at the company. Mr. Hughs wants to talk to me about something. You go ahead and sleep," Sandy interrupted Stella before she could speak.
Upon hearing Sandy's words, Stella didn't say anything further. "Okay, call me when you're coming back, and I'll come pick you up."
Sandy acknowledged with a sound, then hung up the phone.
Before she could even lower her phone from her ear, Brandon's call came through.
Taking a deep breath, Sandy answered the call. "Brandon."
"Going out with friends tonight?" Brandon asked.
Sandy acknowledged, "With a guy."
