Chapter 900: You Insult Her, I'll Chop Off One of His Fingers

Zane had no idea what Yanis and Reed were talking about when they huddled together mysteriously after coming back from the cemetery in the afternoon. Before long, both of them disappeared without a trace. They still hadn't returned by now.

Yanis noticed Zane's confusion and looked up at Reed. "They should be back soon."

Reed glanced at Yanis and expressed his concern. "I'm a little worried."

Just as Reed finished speaking, a woman rushed in through the door, visibly anxious. "Reed! Get out here!"

The woman entered the room and shouted loudly.

Reed stood up and looked towards the door. "Grandma Blake."

The person who arrived was Beatrice Blake, Felix's mother, and a well-known figure in the village. Her curse words were never repeated, and the villagers were extremely wary of her. After all, trouble was bound to follow for anyone who provoked someone like her.

"Get out here!" Beatrice stood in the yard, pointing her finger at Reed.

Yanis and Zane stood up as well, seeing the situation.

Taylor and Payne stepped out of the kitchen ahead of them. Payne looked at Beatrice standing in the yard and asked, "Grandma Blake, what do you want with my sister?" Beatrice glanced at Payne but kept her gaze on Reed. "Reed, get out here!"

Just as Reed was about to take a step forward, Taylor reached out and held him back. "Grandma Blake, what exactly do you want with my sister?"

Beatrice walked up and tried to grab Reed, but Payne stepped in and blocked her. "Grandma Blake, if you have something to say, just say it. No need for physical violence." Beatrice pushed Payne's hand away and pointed her finger at Reed. "You shameless person! When did my son Felix sleep with you? You and me? How did you sleep with him?" Beatrice's words stunned everyone present, especially Reed. The color drained from his face, and he looked at Beatrice in disbelief. "Grandma Blake, what are you talking about?"

"Don't you understand what I'm saying? Your brother and that Allan beat up my son Felix!" Beatrice looked at Reed. "I knew your brother shouldn't have associated with Allan. You should have stayed away from him too!"

"Like mother, like daughter! Your mother isn't a decent person either, and her daughter must be the same!"

"You're the one who's shameless!"

After Beatrice's words, Mia shouted loudly at Beatrice, "You're not allowed to talk about my mom and my sister like that!"

Reed reached out and hugged Mia, looking at Beatrice. "My brother fought with Uncle Felix?"

"Let me tell you, if Felix has any harm, I won't let you off the hook! I'll make the whole village know what a shameless slut you are, seducing people everywhere, just like your mother!"

"If you won't let her off the hook, I won't let your whole family off the hook!"

After Beatrice spoke, Allan's calm voice came from the entrance. Hearing Allan's words, Beatrice turned around to see Mitch and Allan approaching. "I've already called the police. You can wait to go to jail!" Mitch ignored Beatrice and walked straight to Reed's group, saying, "Let's go inside and eat."

Reed looked at Mitch, wanting to say something, but Mitch stopped him with a glance and repeated in a low voice, "Go inside and eat!"

After saying that, Mitch turned to Yanis and Zane. "Yanis, Mr. Lawrence, you should go inside too."

Yanis acknowledged and reached out to pull Reed and Mia. "Natasha, let's go inside."

"Brother, she just insulted Mom and Sister Reed!" Natasha said to Mitch.

Mitch raised his hand and rubbed Natasha's head. "Go inside first. I'll handle it here."

After hesitating for a moment, Natasha nodded.

"You two, go inside as well." Mitch looked at Payne and Taylor.

Neither of them moved, just standing in place.

Mitch spoke in a low voice, "What? Do you still want to lay a hand on her? If we beat her, we won't have peace for the rest of our lives. Go inside first. I'll handle it here."

After hearing Mitch's words, Payne and Taylor hesitated for a moment before turning and going inside.

After everyone went inside, only Allan, Beatrice, and Mitch remained in the yard, with Mitch standing on the steps.

"What? You want to fight me too?" Beatrice looked at the two men, hands on her hips, and shouted.

Mitch had no intention of arguing with Beatrice from the beginning, so he ignored her comment. He knew very well that dealing with someone like Beatrice required Allan's involvement. Allan played along and, after Beatrice's words, sneered, "Do you not know what kind of person I am? What does it matter if I hit a woman? If you dare insult Reed again, I'll cut off your tongue!"

After saying that, Allan took a step towards Beatrice. "Or maybe I'll chop off one of Felix's fingers for each word you say. Let's see if Felix has enough fingers for you to keep insulting!"

"Do you dare!" Although Beatrice was a shrew, she still feared Allan to some extent. After all, the things Allan had done with Nealon were well-known in the village. Murder and arson, unforgivable crimes, had spread far and wide.

Beatrice naturally had some fear of someone like him.

"You can now say one more word to insult me. Let's see if I dare!" Allan took out his phone from his pocket, dialed Lachlan's number.

After the call went through, Lachlan quickly answered from the other end. "Allan?"

Allan looked at Beatrice, holding his phone, and said word by word, "Go to Felix's house now. If you hear someone insulting Reed, chop off one of Felix's fingers for me. One insult, one hand!"

On Lachlan's end, there was a brief pause after hearing Allan's words, and then he responded, "Alright!"

Allan's phone was on speaker mode, so Beatrice could hear Lachlan's response clearly.

Allan looked at Beatrice. "Are you going to insult me? Why did you stop? Weren't you just so eager to insult me earlier?"

Beatrice looked embarrassed and glanced at Allan. "What does it have to do with you? That little slut... Reed, does she really have something to do with you?"

"In the future, Reed's matters are my matters when it comes to the Miller family. What does it matter to you how I'm connected to Reed?" Allan's cold gaze met Beatrice's. "Let me tell you, if this place had surveillance cameras, Felix wouldn't just be getting beaten up, he would be facing prison time, a minimum of ten years!"

Upon hearing this, Beatrice's expression became even uglier. "You... you..."

"Don't believe me? I know a lawyer. Should I have them explain whether Felix's actions would land him in jail?" Allan's words made Beatrice feel uneasy. Although she lived in the mountains and didn't go out often, she had some knowledge of the law. So Beatrice believed what Allan said.

She knew what Felix had done back then, but she had instructed him to shift the blame onto someone else and not admit anything. However, since the Miller family never came knocking on their door, the matter was left unresolved.

Beatrice had never expected that after all these years, it would resurface.
