Chapter 976: Applying for Termination, Leaving Simsang Entertainment

Sandy escorted Belle to the company's entrance and watched her drive away before turning back to enter the lobby.

"Sandy."

Just as Sandy was about to head towards the elevator, a familiar voice came from behind.

Sandy halted her steps and turned to see the person approaching. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly, "Selena? What are you doing here?"

Selena walked up to Sandy and asked, "I heard you're holding a press conference today?"

Sandy nodded, "Yes, with all that has happened these past few days, I need to give the public and my fans a formal apology and explanation. I can't just stay silent." Selena agreed with a nod, "You're right. Even if you don't owe anyone an explanation, you owe your fans a proper one. After all, they've been supporting you for so long." Sandy acknowledged with a soft "Mm" and then looked at Selena, "Now it's your turn. Why are you here? Miss Austi just left from here, and she doesn't know you're here, right?" Selena nodded, "I came without telling her."

With that said, Selena glanced around and suggested, "Should we replace another place to talk? It's not very convenient here."

Sandy agreed, "Sure, let's go inside."

Selena responded with a soft "Mm" and followed Sandy's steps.

Selena's appearance at Gotrend Entertainment caused quite a stir. However, one good thing about Gotrend Entertainment was that there was no sense of competition among the artists. Compared to Simsang Entertainment, the atmosphere at Gotrend Entertainment made Sandy feel more at ease.

That's why Sandy boldly brought Selena directly inside the company. She knew that no matter who saw them together, they wouldn't leak photos or spread rumors to the media. Such actions would be self- destructive.

"Why is Selena visiting our Gotrend Entertainment?" A female artist who had acted with Selena before approached and greeted her. Then, her gaze shifted to Sandy. "You're not thinking of coming to Gotrend Entertainment too, are you?"

Selena chuckled at the playful remark, "Would Mr. Hughs accept me if I come to Gotrend Entertainment?"

"Our Mr. Hughs values talent, and if you come, Miss Thompson and I can put in a good word for you. Maybe Mr. Hughs will take you in," the artist teased.

Selena nodded with a smile, "Alright, with your support, I'll have confidence then."

After exchanging jokes and greetings, Sandy led Selena upstairs.

"Are you not worried about gossip when you bring me in here?" Selena asked in a low voice as they entered the elevator.

Sandy whispered back, "Do you know why, out of so many entertainment companies in Manches City, I chose to come to Gotrend Entertainment?"

Selena was curious, so she asked, "Why?"

"Because at Gotrend Entertainment, everyone doesn't compete with each other. For the artists here, besides other artists under Gotrend Entertainment, everyone else is a competitor," Sandy explained. Selena chuckled softly, "No wonder you chose Gotrend Entertainment. If it were up to me, I might also choose such a company."

Sandy glanced at Selena from the side, "How long is your contract with Simsang Entertainment?"

"Fifteen years," Selena replied.

After hearing Selena's answer, Sandy asked, "Aren't you going to ask me why I've come to see you?"

Sandy maintained eye contact with Selena for a few seconds. "Are you here because of those posts about me from the past two times?"

Selena nodded, "You guessed half of it."

"Is there another reason?" Sandy asked.

Selena took out her phone and sent a file directly to Sandy, "Take a look at this."

Sandy glanced at Selena before picking up her phone and opening the file that Selena sent her.

Upon reading the content, Sandy furrowed her brows, "How did you get this?"

At that moment, the elevator stopped, and Sandy gave Selena a quick glance before leading her out of the elevator and directly into her rest area.

Once inside, Sandy closed the door and invited Selena to sit on the sofa before continuing to examine the file Selena had sent her. "How did these things end up with you?"

Selena looked at Sandy, "I saw it on Mr. Sharp's desk and copied it."

"Mr. Sharp..." Sandy wanted to say something but found herself struggling to replace the right words.

Selena looked at Sandy, "After seeing this, I've decided to terminate my contract with Simsang Entertainment."

Sandy fell silent for a moment. "With your situation, the termination fee will be a substantial sum."

Selena whispered, "My goal in the entertainment industry was to play various roles, but with the current situation, staying at Simsang Entertainment holds no meaning for me. Even if it means paying a high penalty fee, I'll still apply for termination."

After a few seconds of silence, Sandy spoke, "We've known each other for about three to five years, right? If you're really considering terminating your contract with Simsang Entertainment, I can introduce you to a lawyer."

Selena looked at Sandy gratefully, "Thank you in advance. For now, let's keep this visit between us and not let anyone else know."

Selena then expressed her concern, "Are you really sure that people at Gotrend Entertainment won't spread the news of my visit today?"

Sandy looked at Selena, "Don't you trust me?"

"It's not that I don't trust you, it's just..."

"Don't worry. I'll inform Mr. Hughs later, and with his involvement, no one will say anything."

Selena felt reassured by Sandy's words.

"However, if others were to see these documents, I believe they would want to leave Simsang Entertainment just like you, even if it means paying a hefty penalty fee," Selena spoke in a low voice. "Our endorsement fees and advertisement fees each year are practically squeezed out of us. We barely get to keep any of it, and then we have to pay various fees for reasons we don't even understand."

Sandy could relate to Selena's experiences. During her time at Simsang Entertainment, despite her fame and status as a top artist alongside Selena in the entertainment industry, the reality of their position within the company was not as good as the public perceived. Benedict Sharp, the CEO of Simsang Entertainment, appeared to be a kind person, but in reality, he was extremely stingy, squeezing every bit of income from the artists and leaving no room for rebuttal.

Sandy knew that after her contract expired, no matter how much Benedict tried to persuade her to stay, she had no reason to remain at Simsang Entertainment.
