Chapter 1018: Is Mr. Read Prepared to Risk His Life?

When Haider uttered these words, Nolan's expression changed completely. He looked at Haider and said in a low voice, "Haider, aren't you being a bit too much?"

Haider looked calmly at Nolan. "Mr. Read sent people to Bonnie's place to cause trouble. Fortunately, she's unharmed. But if anything had happened to her, was Mr. Read prepared to risk his life?" Upon hearing about the incident at Bonnie's place, Haider rushed over, leaving the other high-ranking members behind.

After watching the surveillance footage, Haider's face remained cold throughout. He had been polite to Nolan before, but now, his attitude towards him was distant and icy.

Nolan had never expected that Haider would show no mercy and be so confrontational. Although the Read family had gained some status in Manches City due to Myles' and Haider's help in the past, they were still relying on others. Once the support was gone, they couldn't stand on their own.

Facing the current situation, Nolan knew better than to directly confront Haider.

At that moment, Jenny, who had been silent all along, spoke up, "Haider, for the sake of your family's Myles, Yoyo (referring to herself) risked her life. Now, are you planning to annihilate us completely?" Jenny's words carried a subtle moral pressure. The incident before involved Mia taking Bonnie hostage, causing her to give birth prematurely and resulting in two deaths. However, the blame couldn't be placed on Bonnie or Haider. Now, Jenny was forcefully putting the blame on Bonnie.

Besides, the reason for Nolan's sudden attack on Bonnie was still unknown.

After Jenny finished speaking, Haider looked at her calmly and indifferently, asking, "So, according to Mrs. Read, how should we proceed?"

Upon hearing Haider's response, Jenny was momentarily taken aback, just about to say something when two more people entered the room - Travis and Freddy.

Upon seeing Travis and Freddy at the entrance, Nolan and Jenny's faces showed a hint of guilt, though it disappeared in an instant.

As Travis and Freddy entered, they first looked at Bonnie to ensure she was fine before turning their attention to Nolan and Jenny, who were standing aside.

Nolan couldn't quite gauge Travis's attitude, as Travis was known for being decisive when he was younger. Anyone in Manches City who had dealt with Travis knew how important Bonnie was to him. Under the current circumstances, Travis wouldn't easily let the matter go.

Travis looked at Nolan for a few seconds before taking two steps closer and said calmly, "How do you want to handle this?"

Nolan hesitated for a moment after hearing Travis's question, unsure of how to respond immediately. Silence filled the room.

But before Nolan could speak, Travis's voice resounded again, "Since you don't know how to handle it, then follow Haider's suggestion and go through the legal process. Bonnie's store must be fully compensated for its losses. I'll make sure they pay for their actions."

Nolan's eyes widened in shock upon hearing Travis's words. It seemed Travis was dead serious about taking legal action.

Lane, who had been silent all this time, approached Travis and said, "The Old Mr. Cooke, leave this matter to me. I'll follow the standard legal procedures and ensure no one gets away with harming Bonnie. I'll take them to court if needed."

Nolan and Jenny, who had been assertive earlier, were now taken aback. They realized Travis was serious and determined to see this through.

After Lane agreed to take charge, Nolan and Jenny felt increasingly anxious. But they held back their emotions because they were still in the police station and didn't want to cause a scene.

After speaking with Lane, Travis turned to Bonnie and Yanis and said softly, "Let Haider take you back home. I'll handle things here with your dad."

Bonnie looked at Travis and began to say something, but he interrupted her, saying, "Listen to me, go home."

Bonnie nodded and said, "Okay."

With that, Bonnie turned to Yanis and said, "Let's go."

Yanis agreed with a soft "Mm-hmm," and after bidding farewell to Travis and Freddy, they left the police station with Haider.

The situation could have been resolved by Haider, but Travis had spoken, and Haider couldn't object.

"Next time, just call me if there's any trouble," Haider said to Bonnie in a low voice as they walked out of the police station. Bonnie replied, "Sure."

Haider was about to say something else but decided against it. "Let's go, I'll take you home first."

In the car, Yanis checked the time and suggested, "Haider, why don't you drop Bonnie off at the Cooke Residence? Myles is there, and the Old Mr. Cooke and the others aren't around." Upon hearing Yanis, Haider agreed, "Alright. And where will you go?"

Yanis replied, "I'll drive myself. It's more convenient, and you must have things to take care of."

Haider nodded and said, "Alright, I'm not that busy."

Yanis said, "I'll head to the Reed Residence later. Mitch invited me, and there are some things I need to check there too."

Haider, Bonnie, and Yanis exchanged farewells. After Haider dropped Bonnie off at the Cooke Residence's entrance, he left for his own errands. Meanwhile, Yanis went inside the shop, where she still needed to tidy things up. Haider asked if she needed any help.
