Chapter 1036: The Lawrence Family is Not Just About Me

"Dr. White said that?" Yanis looked at Zane in shock after hearing his words.

Zane nodded.

Yanis's reaction was similar to Zane's just now. She sat on the bed in a daze, taking a while to recover from the shock.

Zane didn't say anything else, just reached out and gently pulled her into his embrace again.

After a long while, Yanis suddenly called out softly, "Zane."

"Yeah?" Zane replied.

Yanis held Zane's hand and placed it on her belly. "Are there really two babies here?"

Zane nodded, "Yes, there are two."

Tears welled up in Yanis's eyes, and she hugged Zane tightly, unable to stop crying.

When Dr. White came in, Zane was at a loss on how to comfort Yanis. But it seemed to be of no use.

Dr. White cleared his throat, "Mrs. Lawrence, you have to be careful with your emotions. If you cry, the babies will cry with you."

Upon hearing Dr. White's words, Yanis stopped crying and looked at him in a daze.

Dr. White smiled, "Don't cry. Your emotions can affect them, and they might feel like their mother doesn't like them."

Yanis stopped her tears upon hearing Dr. White's explanation.

Dr. White continued, "All your test results are stable, and for the next two days, avoid moving around too much. Come back for a follow-up in a week." Yanis asked, "Does that mean we can be discharged now?"

Dr. White nodded, "You can go home, but remember to rest."

Yanis agreed, "Okay."

"Go handle the discharge procedures this afternoon, but remember to rest. Come back for a follow-up in a week," Dr. White advised.

Yanis was close to tears again, but Zane comforted her for a while until she managed to calm down.

Due to Yanis carrying twins, Zane directly arranged for Dylan and Phoebe to join the Lawrence Group.

Before this, Dylan would definitely laugh it off. However, his mindset was now a hundred times different from before.

Zane had already thought of a good way to negotiate with Dylan. He hadn't told Dylan about Jo yet, but he was glad he hadn't mentioned it earlier during the call with Anthony. Now he had a perfect opportunity to negotiate with Dylan.

Dylan wasn't willing to accept the position Zane offered, worrying that he couldn't do it due to his age. He also mentioned the family's feelings toward Jo.

Zane had no interest in Dylan's excuses, so he decided on the spot, "Uncle Dylan, it's settled."

Before Dylan could say anything, Zane hung up the phone.

As soon as Zane hung up, Phoebe called, "Bro, what does Albi's message mean?"

Zane asked, "Isn't it obvious enough?"

Phoebe took a deep breath, "Bro, I can't do it. I really can't."

Phoebe had hoped that Dylan would take over the Lawrence Group, but she had never considered herself taking charge. She knew her own capabilities, and she wasn't good at management. Being asked to serve as the acting CEO by Albi scared her.

"I already spoke to Uncle Dylan about it. He'll teach you, and Albi will assist you," Zane replied.

"But..."

"I need to stay with your sister-in-law. For now, just ask me whenever you don't understand something."

Phoebe didn't get a chance to say what she wanted to say before Zane hung up.

Seeing Zane end both calls like that, Yanis couldn't help but laugh, "Aren't you being a bit hasty?"

Zane handed his phone to Yanis and said as he drove, "The Lawrence family is not just about me. Everyone should do their part."

Yanis didn't know how to respond to Zane's words for a moment.

When Zane took over the Lawrence Group, it was because Miller was incapable of managing it. If Zane didn't take charge, Dylan would have taken over. Back then, Dylan's mindset was that the Lawrence Group wouldn't last long.

However, now things were different. After going through so much, Dylan's mentality had stabilized. Zane was confident that Dylan could manage the Lawrence Group well. Moreover, there was Phoebe now. So, Zane temporarily handed over the management of the Lawrence Group to Dylan and Phoebe without any worries.

Yanis knew that Zane did this not only because she was pregnant and needed him to take care of her but also because there were other reasons behind his decision.

Dylan hadn't achieved much in his life. He used to be told by Rachel and Lucia that he only wanted to be the head of the family but lacked the ability to manage it well.

However, now Dylan's mindset was definitely different. He had the ability to manage the Lawrence Group well. Moreover, with Phoebe by his side, Zane trusted them both to handle the Lawrence Group for the time being.

Due to Yanis's pregnancy, her condition was not entirely stable. Zane made arrangements for his aunt to stay at D-King Castle and occupy one of the guest rooms on the first floor. He also hired a nanny to take care of Yanis's meals.

Yanis wanted to refuse Zane's arrangements, but seeing how nervous and excited he was, she didn't want to dampen his enthusiasm. So, she didn't ruin his good mood.

The whole afternoon, Zane had both nannies thoroughly clean every corner of the house. Even the bedding was replaced with new ones, giving the whole place a fresh feel. By evening, Zane finally relaxed.

"I'll be going out for a while, about two hours, and then I'll be back," Zane said softly to Yanis during dinner.

Knowing what Zane was going to do, Yanis didn't ask further and simply nodded, "Be careful."

Zane replied, "I'll go with Albi, Evan, and Allan."

Because they weren't sure of the other party's identity, and given the recent troubles Anthony and his group had caused at the black market, Zane had to be cautious, especially with Yanis being pregnant. Seeing Zane's response, Yanis felt a bit relieved and said, "Okay. Bonnie said she'll bring Myles over later, so you don't have to worry about me. There are still nannies at home."
