Chapter 51 She's the Hostess

"Lauren, you are overthinking. You don't have to keep staying with me. Aren't you busy preparing for your comeback?"

He looked indifferent.

"My comeback is not as important to you. You became like this because of me. I should stay by your side to take care of you."

As long as Lauren thought of him getting into a car accident to replace her, she felt happy and scared at the same time.

She was happy because he cared about her, but she feared that he was in danger.

Just that he looked very unhappy.

In a low voice, Lauren said, "Benjamin, Harper hasn't come to the hospital. Is she angry? I can apologize to her. I'm afraid Paul will blame you for this. I don't want you to be scolded, I can take the initiative to explain to her.'

"No, my grandpa won't know about my injury. I'm a little tired. You should go back. It's not appropriate for you to stay in the hospital every day."

Benjamin's voice was subdued, and his countenance was aloof.

Just as he finished speaking, the door to the ward was knocked open before Lauren could respond. The two of them subconsciously turned their heads to look at the door and saw a man.

Larry looked at the two people in the ward and said meaningfully, 'You're covered in injuries to save a beauty. People will have to praise you when it spreads out.'

"Hey, Lauren is here too. Long time no see. How are you?"

"Larry, long time no see, I'm fine." Lauren hurriedly stood up to greet Larry, then looked at the man on the hospital bed and said in a low voice, "Benjamin was injured because of me. Larry, please don't tease him."

Larry just smiled and said nothing.

Only he looked at Benjamin with a more meaningful gaze.

Because Larry was there, Lauren didn't wait long and left the ward.

However, she did not hurry to leave but stood at the ward entrance.

Larry asked, "Benjamin, you are injured like this. Why didn't Harper come to take care of you? Did you not tell her? Or was she angry that you got hurt for Lauren, so she refused to come?" Benjamin frowned and looked at him with dissatisfaction.

Larry ignored him.

He said, "What are you thinking? Since you can't get a divorce now, you should stay away from Lauren? Do you want them both? You can't be too greedy, right?"

"Larry, if you have nothing to do, I wouldn't mind replaceing something for you."

Benjamin's handsome face revealed apparent threats and warnings.

"I'm just telling the truth."

"Are you done? You can leave now."

Larry smiled and said, "Do you want me to invite Harper over for you?"

"No need." Benjamin said impatiently.

Larry continued, "I'm going to volunteer to help you invite her, OK? Your whole body smells like disinfectant. You shouldn't have had a bath, should you? Aren't you uncomfortable? I'm afraid your reputation will be damaged if word gets out, so I'll invite Harper over for you."

Benjamin didn't say anything.

Larry didn't know whether he agreed or refused.

He looked down at him and asked in a low voice, "Do you want Lauren to help you bathe? I can help to tell her."

"Fuck off."

He glared at Larry coldly.

Larry smiled and suddenly became serious. He asked in a low voice, "Was this incident an accident?"

Benjamin could understand the meaning of his words.

He narrowed his eyes and said calmly, "It doesn't matter whether it was an accident. The rain was so heavy that night that no traces could be found."

What was more, some things could not be made transparent yet.

Larry didn't continue.

At this time, a voice came from outside. "Ms. Davis, why are you here?"

It was Curtis' voice.

Although it was separated by a wall, it could still be heard clearly.

Benjamin and Larry looked at each other.

Lauren turned to look at Curtis who was walking towards her. She said in a low voice, "I want to ask Benjamin if he wants to eat something. I'll prepare it."

Curtis nodded without doubt, then opened the door and went in.

Curtis greeted Larry and then said, "Mr. Martin, Ms. Davis asked you if you want something to eat?"

Lauren followed behind Curtis. She subconsciously looked at Benjamin. After replaceing he was no different, she said, "You'd better eat something. I'll go back and ask the chef at home to make some soup for you, okay?"

Benjamin said calmly, "Okay."

Larry immediately said, "I'll drive Lauren home. I haven't seen her for a long time. I want to chat with her."

Benjamin didn't say anything, and Lauren couldn't refuse.

After coming out of the hospital, Larry drove Lauren back to the Pineview Villa.

Lauren smiled and said gently, "Larry, thank you for driving me back."

"You're welcome, we're friends."

Larry smiled lightly.

He asked again, "Are you living in Pineview Villa now?"

"Yes, Benjamin is worried I won't be safe alone, so he lets me stay in the Pineview Villa temporarily." She answered in a low voice.

"He is very nice to you."

"He's always been nice to me."

Larry just glanced at her and said nothing.

They chatted briefly to keep the atmosphere from being awkward.

Soon they returned to the Pineview Villa.

Lauren asked politely, "Larry, do you want to come in for a cup of coffee?"

"Sure, thank you."

Larry agreed quickly, making Lauren stunned for a moment.

However, she immediately took him into the house enthusiastically, gave him slippers to change into, invited him to sit down in the living room, and then asked the servant to serve coffee. She was like the hostess.

Draven personally brought out the coffee. He recognized Larry. Larry asked him, "Where is Harper?"

"Harper should have gone to the company." Draven answered.

Larry added, "You should call Harper and ask her back. After all, she is the hostess."

Draven nodded immediately. "Okay, I'll make a call right away."

"Thank you."

Larry smiled faintly, then looked at Lauren, whose face was pale, and asked, "Lauren, you won't mind, right?"
