I Saved A Mystery Billionaireac (Eudora) -
Chapter 952 Get Out
The water in the pot boiled over as the two were talking, overflowing from within.
Eudora glanced at the stove. "Oh, the water is overflowing."
She set the tongs aside as she got up to walk around Colbert to reach the stove. When she lifted the lid of the pot, she hissed in pain. Because the water had been boiling for some time, the handle on the lid became searing hot.
Thus, it burned Eudora's hand when she reached for it, and she couldn't help inhaling sharply.
Colbert swept in to hold her stinging right hand and blew cold air on it. "Silly girl, you are always so clumsy no matter what you do."
He continued blowing cold air on Eudora's hand as he murmured. Then, he lifted the pot lid and stirred the gnocchis in the pot with a ladle.
After letting go of Eudora, he scooped up some cold water and poured it into the pot, then put the lid back on.
Eudora placed her burning finger on her lips and chewed on it. "You know how to make gnocchis?" she sounded incredulous.
"This is some basic common sense," Colbert answered as he scooped up some more cold water and placed the dipper on the stove. He then immersed Eudora's stinging finger in the water. "It'll be fine once it cools down."
"Okay."
Her curt response was out of embarrassment after the misunderstanding between them got cleared up.
Mildred, who was standing at the door, happened to take that scene in.
Initially, she was worried that the gnocchis in the pot would be overcooked, so she came to check on them, only to see the two young people being all lovey-dovey.
Eudora had claimed last night that Colbert hailed from a wealthy and prestigious family that the Stanford family couldn't possibly match up to.
However, the sight of those two love birds left her feeling annoyed at Eudora's previous statement.
"Tell me, how can I rest assured when you can't even take care of yourself?"
Colbert held Eudora's hand, took out a limited-edition handkerchief from his wind coat pocket, and wiped the cold water off her fingers.
"Why do you care? Go keep your female friend in Camford Country company," Eudora mumbled indifferently and withdrew her hand from Colbert's. Colbert stood there sniffing. "Hey, did you smell that? I smell something from you."
"Huh? What is it?"
Eudora immediately raised her head and sniffed the air. "Why didn't I smell it?"
As she spoke, she looked away and checked her clothes for traces of seasonings and food. "I think I seem..."
Before finishing her sentence, she suddenly came to her senses.
Wheeling around in shame and anger, she let out a yell, her bright eyes full of anger. "I don't smell of jealousy, Colbert! Get out!"
She pointed at him, and her creamy fair cheeks were stained with a blush.
