I Shouldn’t Love Him – Chapter 28

Liya’s POV

I close the door carefully after Gabriel leaves…my hand tightens on the handle when behind me someone comes down the steps.

I turn around and swallow when I see the impressive silhouette

of Xavier. Hands in his pockets, dressed in a magnificent suit as usual. He stares at me in a funny way.

I turn away from his hypnotic desires and climb the stairs to

join my mother. .I go up and pass him without a word and in the

process nourish my lungs with his masculine scent.

– You had a good night ?

My legs stop of their own accord at the sound of his voice, cold and hoarse

like the day before, and which gives me f*****g chills.

I turn slightly so I can face him, a seductive smile hangs on my lips and I bite my lower l*p under his burning gaze.

— The hottest one of my life… I whispered.

His jaw contracts hard following my words and my gaze cannot

leave this fascinating part of his anatomy dotted with a slight beard.

I turn around immediately, not waiting for his response, and continue on my way but his hand violently encircles my arm and pulls me back, which makes me lose my balance.

With a quick movement, he grabs my waist with his powerful arms, pressing me

against his hard and warm chest, holding me firmly against him.

I keep my eyelids closed..just for a moment to revel in the sensations he provokes in my body…he was vile to me the day before, I hated him with all my being for his hurtful words that he told me…and yet my body still reacts so positively against

his.

His breathing falling against my face tells me that he has come closer, I can sense his feverish gaze on me. His hands around my waist make their way under my tank top, his fingers brush against my burning skin causing an electric shock along my spine…and I enjoy these few seconds that I dreamed of all night.

— Why did you let him touch you?”

My eyelids open suddenly at the tone of his voice…my eyes meet his to be sure of what I could detect there… His pupils darkened express pain, disappointment…? Why? Why be in this state?

Is it possible that he cares about me?

No, it’s simply impossible Liya, pull yourself together, poor thing, do you really think he has feelings for you? He’s just an a*****e who’s been playing with me from the start, this man is harmful, as much for me as for my mother…I withdraw from his embrace, he doesn’t hold me either…I rushes to join my mother with a heavy heart.

Arriving in front of his room I am short of my running or rather by

Xavier, I enter the room and I see my kindergartener taking off her makeup.

– Mom it’s all right ?

“I’m fine,” she whispers, giving me a look through the mirror.

I slowly approach her until I am at her side.

— I saw you and Xavier.

My heart stops beating when she says the words coldly. Panic

rises in me, my hands become sweaty, my pulse accelerates but when and where? Breathe Liya breathe.

I want to talk and explain everything to him…but explain what exactly? That I kissed his fiancé and loved feeling his lips against mine?

Tell him that I couldn’t resist his charm and that my heart

now beats only for him?

I fled his insistent gaze, unable to bear it any longer, shame and

guilt completely invaded my body.

— You with Yanis and him with this lawyer.

Did I hear correctly? I sigh inwardly relieved and resume normal breathing. I don’t want to imagine what would have happened if she had known.

— He’s your boyfriend’s brother Liya,” she continues.

— I…mom, I didn’t expect him to k**s me and..

— Gabriel could have seen you.. Can you imagine what would that cause?…stay away from him my darling…and don’t let Gabriel slip from your hands you won’t replace another better than him, she advises me. I simply nod not knowing

what to say, she gets up and takes me in his arms and I enjoy his embrace which is rare lately.

— And you, mom? What happened with Xavier?” I asked hesitantly.

She detaches herself from me and takes me with her onto the bed where we were sitting.

— I don’t know my darling, I don’t know! I…he has changed these days with me, I feel him distant. We had an argument this morning and… I’m lost, she said, running her hand through her hair.

I can’t stand seeing her in this state, I approach her and place my hand against hers.

– You love her ?

She stares at me for a moment, not expecting my question which also surprises me! She remains silent for a long time, and I tell myself that she is not going to answer me.

– Yes I love him .

And my vital organ is painfully compressed in my rib cage.

A few days later

Yanis’s POV.

I’ve been waiting in this f*****g restaurant for more than ten minutes, I’m starting to get impatient. The young waitress arrives with my coffee and her big breasts that she exposes under my nose really annoy me, if she thinks she will succeed in attracting me, pff she is fooling herself.

I take a sip of my hot drink when my gaze falls on

a female figure…she has finally arrived, it’s about time.

Her dark gaze sweeps around the room and she spots me very quickly, she approaches me with long strides, clicking her high heels against the tiled floor…attracting all eyes as she passes.

As she advances, I contemplate her long, endless legs which give rise to un-Catholic thoughts in my twisted mind.

She is now at my height, I get up and approach her to k**s her but she stops me by placing her hand against my chest to make me move back.

It then sits elegantly. an expression that is meant to be cold

face, then I sit down too.

— So why did you want to see me Marie? I asked, deliberately emphasizing his first name.

“Don’t come near my daughter,” she says immediately.

— Don’t play that game with me…don’t try it again…

— Would you be jealous of your daughter?” I provoked her by cutting her off.

— I don’t see why I would be, I have to – May I remind you that she is with your brother?

— Ah Marie, don’t act as if all that matters to you… you won’t stop me from seeing her. Besides, she is really attractive… young and innocent

. my lips purse during my monologue which only makes my smile increase.

The waitress returns, and she orders a cup of tea, I take the opportunity to look at her more closely, her hair cut short, her soft skin so white, her slight cleavage, her luscious lips..

— You have really changed. you have become an unrecognizable woman.. beautiful.

Her eyes have darkened, her cheeks take on a slight pink tint, which makes her even more desirable.

— And you’re a complete a*****e, she curses.

She reminds me of Liya…both with their shitty characters.

—I learned about the death of your….husband..I see that you’re I’m engaged now.

She brings her cup to her lips and takes a sip, and I don’t miss a single moment of this spectacle.

— Who as you see..

— Why did you get engaged to a man you don’t love? I said with a

clenched jaw.

Her thin fingers tighten around her cup, she stares at me with her chin raised.

– I am in love .

And this time I burst out laughing, she glared at me, and I regained my seriousness by leaning towards her.

— Marie, you can’t lie to me. I observed you closely during the

marriage, you don’t like him and that was the case with your late husband.

— I DON’T ALLOW YOU! she writes to herself, getting up from her chair, her palms placed loudly against the table.

She then sits down feeling all eyes on her but does not

calm down.

— You didn’t love him, you never loved your husband. You were just attracted to his physique and his maturity. You ended up with a kid in high school because of him damn it. And I…I was ready for anything!…I was ready to accept your child and live by your side and..

— SHUT UP!! Be quiet please ! You know very well that I couldn’t stay with you, he was her father, I couldn’t deprive her of her! And..

“And learned to forget myself,” I continued.

“Exactly,” she says.

She gets up suddenly and leaves without a glance, leaving me alone to watch her drown without being able to hold her back..
