In Between The Alphas -
Chapter 32
It has been a week since the incident in the daycare and every day is worse than the last. Jake has discovered new and creative ways to make me suffer and I can't do anything about it. I have thought about telling Logan but something stops me each time. That day after the incident at the daycare Jake told me that he had told someone everything and in a situation where he should end up in the pack cell or he should end up punished because someone replaces out about what he does to me then the person has strict I wouldn't have minded having them on my tail again but I can't do that to Greg. Even if I wanted to warn him; my father would probably get to him first so I have suffered the beatings and the ******* in silence.
orders to go to Alpha Hunter and my father with information on me and Greg.
A few times Diana has caught a glimpse of the bruises but she just flushes pink and looks away with an apology in her eyes. One day she even gathered up the courage to ask me what kind of kinky things we do because she has been researching about it and I had to make up some sh!t that I heard Carmen say once.
That was honestly the most embarrassing moment of my life but I guess I have myself to blame for that.
My only piece of comfort through the pain is that Greg is coming to visit. He called a few days ago and said he had permission from Logan to come visit and see how I'm fitting in. Jake hasn't hit me in two days because he wants me to heal before Greg comes over today.
"So who is this person that's coming to visit?" Diana asked with a wiggle of her eyebrows, "Jake doesn't seem to like him very much; is he an e of yours?"
"No," I said with a grimace, "Greg is like my older brother. I was staying with him when I met Jake."
"Oh, I guess that kind of explains it," she said with a shrug, "So tell me; is he hot?"
"I don't know; I guess he is." I said with a shrug, "I've never really looked at him that way."
"What time is he arriving?"
"I don't know if I'm being honest," I said, "But I think it should be later this evening or maybe early tomorrow morning."
"Okay; so final question," Diana said and I nodded for her to go on, "How big is he?"
"Ew," I grimaced, "Did you not hear the part where I said he was like my brother?"
"Well I know but you must have an idea?" she said, "Haven't you ever seen an outline or something when he's turned on?"
"One; I have never seen him turned on," I began, "Two; I would never go near that part of him with a ten inch pole," I suppressed a shudder, "The thought alone is enough to make me gag."
"Right back at you sweetheart." A voice said behind me and before I knew it I was on my feet and flying into Greg's open arms making him laugh, "If I didn't know any better I would say you missed me."
"Oh shut up," I sniffled, "I'm just doing it so you don't feel bad about missing me when I didn't even think about you."
"How're you doing kid?" he asked and I shrugged. He looked at me almost as if he was trying to figure out all the secrets I was keeping, "We'll talk about this later."
"There's nothing to talk about-"
We were interrupted by a small cough behind us and I quickly remembered that Diana was here with me.
"I'm so sorry," I said, "Greg this is Diana and Diana this is Greg."
Neither of them said anything and I looked up to see that they were staring at each other with the same dazed look in their eyes.
"Okay, that is weird," I said taking a step back so I was in front of the door and no longer in the middle of the both of them.
"That is what happens when you replace your mate," a voice said behind me and I didn't need to turn to know it was Logan.
He was standing so close to me that I could feel his body heat searing into me and all my nerves stood on end.
"Is it always this dramatic?" I forced myself to ask and he let out a small laugh and oh goddess I can swear I felt my belly do a summer sault.
"No," he admitted, "Most people can control their reactions but the feeling is the same," he continued, "You feel like everything in your life finally makes sense because of them and you feel complete and you know that you would move mountains just to make sure that this person is happy. It's knowing that you've found your soulmate and you would do anything to keep them."
"So that's it," I asked, "From just one look you know?"
"Sometimes," he said, "For some; their werewolf side has been too dormant and dominated that they don't notice until much later."
"Have you found your mate?" I couldn't help but blurt out and he inhaled sharply, "I'm sorry, that was too personal. I should never have-"
"Yes," his voice was so low and soft that I wouldn't have heard him if he hadn't moved closer to me so that his hand was brushing the side of my hip. "It was the most beautiful feeling in the world."
"Where is she now?" That question seemed to snap whatever spell was around and I felt him freeze.
"You should get to your friend before they start fvcking in front of the children," he said and that's when I noticed that they were engaged in a steamy make out session. "When you're done, I need the both of you in my office." Without another word he left me with the task of separating the two love birds.
I may not know much about mates but I know better than to get in between them so I stayed at my spot by the door and let out a small scream. As intended they broke apart but what I didn't expect was for all the children to wake up and start wailing. "What the hell Charlie?" Diana asked and I just shrugged.
"I didn't know how to get the two of you to stop playing tonsil hockey." I said in a bashful tone and Greg let out a small chuckle.
"A simple Hey would have sufficed," she said and I raised a brow, "Okay maybe it wouldn't but now we have to get them all back to sleep."
"About that," I began and she narrowed her eyes at me, "Greg and I have to go meet Lo- Alpha Logan in his office." I am so used to calling him Logan in my head that I almost slipped up and said it out loud.
"You are not leaving me her with the children that you woke."
"Well if you weren't about to have s3x in front of them then I wouldn't have had to wake them," I said, "So bye."
I rushed out of the daycare and I heard her scream, "I swear to the goddess Charlie I will kill you."
She went quiet after a second and not long after Greg walked out with his hands in his pockets and I wagged my brows at him.
"Not a word pip squeak," he warned and I couldn't help my squeal of delight.
