It Comes In Three’sChapter 100Lottie’s POVAs we start eating our lunch, with Alex leaving to go into his second meeting of the day, Anna fillsmein on the latest drama between Del and Clara.Her expression becomes serious as she starts recounting what she had found out from the phonecall…“Lottie, you won’t believe what happened with Del and Clara this time,” Anna begins, her eyes filledwith concern. “So you already know that Del is still at the hospital right? Since they said he had towait a few days due to the nature of his injuries. She trails off as I nod along…I watch her as she leans forward, disbelief swarming her features before she speaks out…“Del just called me… and told me that she showed up to the hospital today and told the receptionshe was his sister just to visit him!” Anna’s eyes grow wider as she speaks out the update, as Imimic her expression – now shocked myself.“No she never?!” I question, gasping loudly, as Anna nods frantically.Clara was getting too much at this point!“So then what happened?!” I push, needing to know the details… she could have tried anything withhim! She’s lucky Alex wasn’t at the hospital when she showed up there too! He would have draggedhera**Anna takes a deep breath before continuing with the shocking story. “Well, the receptionistobviously believed her and let her in manipulative little b**h that she is!” Anna adds, beforecontinuing-–“Del was having his nose properly reset this morning so afterwards, he was still in a lot of pain andheavily doped up. He didn’t realize who she was at first, thinking that she was one of the nurses,

until she got closer to him in the room Anna explains, as my stomach churns in wariness.She caught him at probably the worst time she could have too! He was in no frame of mind to evendefend himself against her!My heart races with worry, and anger begins to build up inside me. “What did she do to him, Anna?Did she try to hurt him again? Tell me she never? This is unbearable!” I rant, as Anna shakes herhead – her eyes looking down for a moment,Anna’s face suddenly darkens with anger as she replies, “She was acting all sweet and concernedat first, but then she started saying manipulative things again, trying to get him to take her back. Delwas half out of it, but he still kept refusing, and that’s when she lost it. She started yelling at him,blaming him for everything, and even threatened him!” Anna recites what she had been told, as myface contorts in1/4Chapter 100disgust.Tears well up in my eyes, and I clench my fists, feeling a mix of emotions. “That’s so sick! Howcould she do all of that to him when he’s in such a vulnerable state? That isn’t love that’s mostdefinitely abuse! He would be an idlot to take her back – but I know Alex wouldn’t allow it even if hewanted to!” I rambleon.over take her back! Del said she“I know, Lottie, it’s terrible, but I don’t think for a minute that he will almost lost it again as shesmashed one of the coffee mugs off the wall saw her there!” Anna states, her voice filled withindignation.that is until Jace walked in andMy eyes widen in surprise as I hear Jace’s name. “Jace was there? Thank goodness for him! Whathappened after that?” I ask, intrigued now that Jace got there just in time to help him out.Anna nods, continuing with the story. “Yeah! Jace went over there today to check up on Del sinceAlex would be busy working here… he only stepped out to grab him lunch, before he came back

and saw Clara causing a scene! Jace just literally grabbed her and physically removed her from theroom as she yelled and tried to fight him off!” Anna stops for a breath before continuing-“He then just yelled out for the security on the floor, which they came immediately to see what thecommotion was all about. Jace told them that Clara was Del’s crazy ex girlfriend and that she wascausing a disturbance in his room. Del confirmed that he wanted her to leave and so they quicklyescorted her out of the hospital and warned her not to come back or they would be calling the copsnexttime!” Anna concludes, as my mouth opens at the events of their day.Recently, our friendship circle was going through a tornado of bad luck. One thing after another…Relief washes over me, now knowing that Jace was there to protect Del from Clara’s antics just ontime- she could have done anything to him and he was in no position to defend himself today.“Thank G****d Jace was over there today to keep him company and saw her! It makes me sick tothinkwhat could have happened otherwise! I’m so glad he was there to help him! We can’t put anythingpast her at this point when she’s acting out like that in a public place too!” I rant, finishing up mylunch.“Me too,” Anna says, her expression softening. “Jace is a total pain in my a** sometimes, but he’s agood friend, and he cares about all of us. He wouldn’t let anything happen to Del – he would’vekilled her before she got the chance.” Anna states firmly with a dry laugh.“You know!know? I would love to speak with some of Clara’s ex boyfriends, just to replace out if she acted this waywith them too or is it only Del? I throw out the idea with a slight laugh, as Anna smile’smischievously next.“Oh my, that’s a great idea! We totally should! I know a couple of her ex boyfriends and Alex knowssome guys she’s been sleeping with recently from the football team!” Anna blurts out, fully taking myidea on board,2/4Chapter 100

“We would be like reporters! Maybe we should publish an article titled The Mind Of Crazy Clara’…” Ilaugh loudly, as Anna claps in excitement, throwing her head back with a giggle.“That’s so good! I’m totally going to text some of them and ask if they can give us a call! It would begood to know moving forward if her obsession is for only Del or whether it’s for every other guy thatgives her a second of attention!” Anna snorts, pulling out her phone as she isn’t joking…“This is great! We can investigate her and present our replaceings to the guys to help them figure outhow to deal with her moving forward!” I add, watching Anna type up a few different guys onInstagram before clicking to DM them.As we finish our lunch, the tension cases slightly, and I feel a sense of gratitude for the people in mylife like Anna who regularly distract me and make me laugh.Despite the turmoil surrounding my mother and the dangers we now face, I know that I have asupport system that won’t ever let me down.“Ok I’ve sent four of them a message now… two of them where in relationships with her a couple ofyears ago and the other two where just h**k**ps!” Anna turns her phone to show me the guys as Iclick on to their profiles one by one.They were all decent looking dudes, muscular and tall which seemed to be her go to type… orshould I say her go to victims?I would be surprised if any of them had anything nice to say about Clara considering the behaviourshe had displayed recently with Del….“How does Clara even have friends? They must be just as crazy as she is!” I shake my head at the.thought of there being a group of them, as Anna nods in agreement.“I know she’s close friends with this one girl… Amy… I only know her because she used to cheerwhen she was younger… maybe we could message her too?” Anna suggests, as I eye hercautiously.“What if she gives us up? Tells Clara that we are snooping around?” I try to think of all of the thingsthat could go wrong, as Anna shrugs.“I’ll play it casual… trust me!” Anna takes her phone back from my hands and begins to click away. Iwatch her curiously, waiting for her to announce what she was up to….

Her smile grows, before she presses one last button and turns the phone back to allow me to readit-“Hi Amy! I’m recruiting for the cheer team and wondered if you could give me a call? Even if youdon’t want to join, you might be able to help me out still? Thanks! My number is…”I laugh loudly at the casual message, as Anna grins in achievement. “We are totally detectives atthis point!” I laugh out, as Anna throws her hands up knowingly.3/4Chapter 100“We are so good! Maybe this should be our career?! She suggests, as I roll my eyes playfully at theidea. It was fun for now… but as a serious career… I can’t think of anything worse!“What did I miss in here? We both turn to replace Alex entering the office, as he eyes us bothsuspiciously – knowing fine well that we have been up to something.He can read us like a damn book!“Talking about Clara and Del… do you want to know what happened now?” Anna questions, as Alexplaces his paperwork down on the desk.“Yeah sure… just hit me with it.” Alex sighs heavily, leaning against the desk in preparation for theupdate that was about to come.He won’t be happy with this… not at all… especially after he already warned her himself to leaveDel alone!Chapter CommentsEJ Kincaidthe girls are doing the right thing
