Chapter 19
Lottie’s POV
I groan, feeling a slight pounding in my head as I stretch out across the comfy bed. I rub at my eyes, before blinking them open – only to be met with an unfamiliar room that certainly wasn’t Anna’s…
Shit!
I whip my head to the side, before sighing in relief when noticing that it was only Anna who waspassed out beside me.
The sun was shining in from the window, notifying me that it was now the next day, as I began torewind back to last nights party…
Just like a sudden tsunami of thoughts had been unleashed within my mind it all rushed back to meas I gasp and sit up.
Alex kissed me…
We both fell in the pool…
I was so embarrassed that I couldn’t swim and began to cry…
The water washed the makeup off from my legs and Alex noticed my marks…
I ran away like a baby and had a fully blown panic attack in–front of him…
Then he helped me and we fell asleep…
I shook my head over and over again, trying to convince myself that I had made it all up and that itcouldn’t have happened.
Was I that drunk that I made it up? After all, Anna was here beside me now – and not Alex!
Why would he even kiss me? I thought he hated me!

“It’s too early!” My attention turns to Anna as she groans beside me, shielding her eyes from thebright sunlight entering the room.
“You haven’t even looked at the time yet!” I laugh at her, replaceing comfort in her being here besideme now.
“I can just tell by how bright the sun is! It’s too early!” Anna concludes loudly, as I giggle – shealways did make me feel better.
I watch as she furiously rubs at her eyes, before blinking them profusely to wake herself up more-
“So what do you think?” Anna eventually gains the strength to sit up, as I furrow my brows at herquestion.
“Think about what?” I ponder, as she laughs and shakes her head.
“Your first party? Alex found me and said you had passed out up here so I came up here andpassed out beside you!” She laughs, as I force a laugh back after the mention of Alex.
He must’ve left after I had fallen asleep…
“You two got awful cosy last night! I mean where the heck did that kiss even come from? He barelytalks to you when we are with them so he’s for sure kept those feelings hidden well!” Anna gasps atthe sudden memory, as my cheeks flare a bright red, causing her to giggle.
“That was my first kiss too… how embarrassing!” I cover my face with my hands as she gaspsloudly again beside me.
“No way! Well trust me when I say lots of girls at the party would have been SO jealous that youkissed Alex.” She confirms with a nod, making the situation all the more real.
“Then we fell in to the damn pool – could it be any worse?!” I state, causing her to cackle loudly.
“I forgot all about that! That was so funny!” She claps her hands, replaceing the humour in it all – notknowing anything about what had actually happened after that…
“I ended up doing shots with that boy we met… and was totally drunk after that I even spewed! What was his name again? Was it Erik? He was so nice!” Anna reminds me of the boy we hadbefriended last night.
He had turned up to the party with a date (another boy from our school and had been ditched duringthe party for someone else! Erik was so funny though and didn’t seem too bothered about it! He justgave us good vibes and we felt so bad for what had happened to him that we invited him to getdrunk with us!
“He wants to meet us for lunch at some point this weekend!” Anna states as I nod and smile at theidea.
This could be another new friend… a boy at that! I was seriously getting good at this whole friendthing now!
“Let’s go down and grab some breakfast! Del probably has the cleaners in!” Anna snorts out alaugh, as I shake my head too.
“I think I’ll have to take my cheer uniform to the dry cleaners…” I say out loud, as we climb out ofthe bed to replace the outfit in a damp pile on the floor.
“Yeah me too! I don’t know how many drinks got spilled on mine!” Anna laughs, making me feelmore comfortable when seeing that she had also borrowed an oversized shirt and that I wasn’t theonly one wearing men’s clothing.
People could get the wrong idea…
I head to the bathroom first, thankful for the pack of spare toothbrushes that I had helped myself to,before exiting to let Anna in after
1. me.
I really hope Alex isn’t here still… but then again, it is his best friends home… if anyone shouldn’t behere – it’s me!
“Ok girl let’s go get something to eat!” Anna hooks her arm in mine, leading us out of the bedroominto the hallway as I suddenly grow
nervous.
The house looked incredibly different without the hundreds of people that filled the space up lastnight! The place was gorgeous! The walls were white and fresh, with dark oak furniture decoratingthe home.
“Looks like he’s had it cleaned already! I told you he takes care of the place!” Anna laughs, as Inotice that the place was now spotless…
It was as though a party hadn’t even happened here last night…
“Well, well, well… if it isn’t double trouble finally gracing us with their presence!” Del announces aswe enter the kitchen.
My eyes instantly lock with Alex‘, as he stares at me with no emotion. I gulp, shaking theembarrassment away as I follow Anna over to the counter – avoiding his eye contact.
The three of them were fresh as a daisy, fully dressed, and ready for their day. Meanwhile, myselfand Anna, looked as though we had crawled in from off the streets!
To my appreciation, there was a full breakfast buffet on the counter, as Anna began piling up twoplates for us both.
“Grab orange juice from the fridge will you?” Anna asks, pointing over to the fridge as I nod slowly.
The damn fridge just had to be directly behind Alex!
1 shuffle around the kitchen like an idiot, as I feel his burning stare follow me as I get closer to him.
“Sleep well?” He breaks the silence, as I was thankful for the mini argument Anna was now havingwith Jace – meaning we weren’t the only two talking now.
“Y–Yeah… thanks!” I cut the conversation short, opening the heavy fridge to scan it for the orangejuice.
I’m thankful next that he chose to say nothing more, as I grab the carton and head back to Anna asquick as possible without making a
scene…
“Ready for tonight then bro?” Del questions Alex, as I plop onto a stool beside Anna – thankful forthe bacon sandwich which was now on my plate.
“Don’t say shit in–front of them!” Jace states to Del, gaining the both of our attention now.
“Why not?” Anna asks straight away, as Jace glares at her briefly.
“It’s none of your business what we get up to on a Saturday night!” Jace curtly responds, as Alexnoticeably remains quiet.
Just what do they get up to on a Saturday night that we can’t know about…?
