Chapter 792 The True Judgment

Standing up, Noah fixed his gaze on Chloe and tilted his head in confusion. "Don't you want to knowwhere your child is? Let's go ask Vanya then."

Chloe gulped and forced herself to calm down. "Okay, let's go."

Zoelle sized up the pair, then took the lead. "Let's go. I'll report on the results of the treatment aswell."

Chloe blinked and cautiously asked, "Are you planning to leave Docwood?"

"I don't know yet. Since things are wrapping up on your end, I'm considering where to go next."

Vanya's illness was no ordinary ailment. It was a chronic intrusion that required carefulmanagement. Complete recovery would take up to three years, during which she would needconstant medication to maintain proper bodily functions. If Zoelle was to accompany every patientthroughout their entire treatment, she should switch careers and become a caregiver instead.

On the top floor, Vanya sat in a chair, her gaze fixed on the TV in front of her. Chloe followed herline of sight to the screen. The TV was playing footage from the red-carpet premiere of a movie Ottohad financed. He stood in the middle of a row of actors and crew members as they took a groupphoto.

It was said that Otto's film investments had been quite successful in recent years, raking insubstantial profits and enjoying great popularity. Thinking of this Vanya's eyes blazed with anger. She should be standing right beside Otto, but look at where she was now—one foot into her grave.

"Stop feeling resentful. We saved you, so we're not your enemies," Zoelle said nonchalantly.

Vanya was surprised to see them. She then looked at Noah as if waiting for him to speak.

Emotionlessly, Noah said, "You owe Chloe your life. She has some questions for you, so I hopeyou’ll answer her honestly."

A shiver ran through Vanya's body. Noah's tone was perfectly calm, but she could discern the threatin his eyes. It was as if a dagger was poised right at her heart, ready to plunge in with her nextbreath, and it chilled her to the core. Although he looked harmless, like an innocent and naivecollege student, his ruthlessness was beyond imagination.

Vanya calmed herself and said, "The kid is dead."

Noah lowered his head slightly, satisfied with Vanya's response. As he turned his head, he put on asorry expression and looked at Chloe. "I'm sorry, Coco"

"I don't believe it. You're making it up," Chloe firmly denied.

"It's true. The child died that night at the hospital. We failed to save the baby," Vanya said, a mix ofhelplessness and fear in her voice.

"You must be hiding something from me. Tell me the truth right now or I'll stop your medication!"

"No… I didn't…"

"Is it Duskfall that's preventing you from speaking? Tell me honestly and I'll release you right now.”

Noah’s eyebrows went up as he fixed his gaze on Vanya once more.

Lowering her head, Vanya smiled bitterly. "I'd like to get out of here too, but your child is dead. Youneed to accept reality."

Chloe's eyes welled up with tears. Even though it was just an act, hearing about the child beingdead still caused her a twinge of pain. Chloe carried on with her tirade, but Vanya remained

steadfast in keeping her silence before Noah.

When Zoelle could not bear it any longer, she nudged Noah. "Get Chloe out of here. If thiscontinues, she might cry herself into shock."

Noah nodded and patted Chloe's shoulder, his eyes filled with tenderness. "Okay, it’s time to leave.Your eyes are all swollen."

Chloe exhaled a disappointed sigh. She kept her head low as her footsteps faltered while she wentdown the stairs. Meanwhile, Vanya remained tense. She stared fixedly at Noah, preparing to facethe true judgment. Though it looked like she was on Noah's side, she could not tell if he had noticedanything.
