This Alpha wants something from me, something more than my body, and I do not trust him at all. Iam used to the stares I get from men, but Stefan looks at me as if he wants to devour me. 1 get anitch over my entire body, and my skin crawls when he touches me.

The only reason I am permitting his advances is because it was pissing Konstantin off. I can tell bythe way he was continually looking over here. But now he’s disappeared after drinking the entirenight away and entertaining women. Why should he care, though? If I have a mate, if someone isflirting with me; why should it bother him?

His hot and cold attitude is messing with my head.

"Excuse me, Stefan, could you point me to the ladies’ room, please?” I interject one of his wooingtechniques, and he frowns but directs me anyway. “I'll be right back,” I told him.

As soon as I step away from him and into the hall, I feel like I can breathe again. I am used to beingaround powerful Alphas, I mean, Kai is the most powerful in New York, but something about Stefanputs me off.

After scraping the last bits of my courage together, I exhale and walk out of the bathroom. As I walktowards the hall, I catch Konstantin walking inside with his arm around the waist of another woman.So much for making him jealous or pissing him off; he's doing the same to me right now. I let out alow growl at the back of my throat and walk over to where Stefan is waiting for me. He smiles as hesees me approach and holds his hand out for me to take, which I do.

"Ah, I was just about to come to get you,” he says, then pulls me closer to him. I slam against hishard chest and let out a surprised yelp.

“Well now, no more courting?” I ask with a playful smile.

He shakes his head and smiles, pinning me with a crimson stare that actually makes my heart race...“Oh, I'm just getting started,” he says, then leans in close to my ear. “Leave Konstantin's side andbecome my Luna Bride.”

I blink at his words and look at him when he pulls away from me. “Your Luna Bride? But we're notmated,”

“I know, but that doesn't stop me from wanting you any less. As soon as I laid my eyes on you, Iknew I had to make you mine. So, think about it - my door will always be open for you, Lilith.” Hesays, removing a stray hair from my eyes and tucking it behind my ear.

My heartbeat quickens as he leans in close, his eyes flitting to my lips and then my eyes. Our lips areso close that I can feel his breath on my cheeks; he's about to kiss me, and I'm going to let him."Fucking idiot!"

I hear behind Stefan, snapping me out of whatever trance he put me under, and we turn to seewhere the commotion was coming from. Konstantin seems to be in a fistfight with another Beta, theone from a DC biker gang.

"You're dead, Volkov. You and your entire pack.” The biker warns, his eyes glowing silver and hisclaws drawn.

Stefan breathes out an annoyed sigh, and we walk over to the fighting Betas. “Enough, enough ofthis,” he says, looking at both Konstantin and the other wolf. “Both of you need to leave right nowand cool off; I will not permit bloodshed in my own home.”

Konstantin's silver eyes shimmer back to their usual dark colour, then he looks at me and cocks hishead. “Apologies, Stefan. We'll be taking our leave.” He then walks out with Zephyr in tow.

I walk to follow him out, but then I feel Stefan slip something into my hand as I pass him. It's onlyonce I leave the hall that I see it's a card with his number on it—sly bastard.

They're both waiting in the car when I arrive, with Zephyr upfront and Konstantin lying in the back.Wait, was he drunk? Could he even get drunk? Whatever the case, I got into the driver's seat and setoff.

“That was very immature of you,” I say, looking into the rearview mirror at Konstantin, who wavesme off with his hand. This dismissal pisses me off, and I can see my eyes shimmer to my halfbreedgreen. “What the fuck was that, Kon? You're supposed to be the face of our pack, and now you'vejust thrown that out the door with your behaviour!”

"Fuck Stefan Russo,” is all he says, and after that, he doesn't respond to me.

I look over at Zephyr, who shrugs and remains silent. Letting out an annoyed growl, I continue thedrive home in silence.

Konstantin falls asleep on the drive, so I drop Zephyr at home at the estate, and after trying to wakeKonstantin, I leave him to sleep in the back of the car. Fuck that. If he wants to freeze his ass off outhere, then so be it.

I'm so fucking pissed off at him right now, and not because he interrupted my kiss with Stefaneither. He made a fool of himself and of our pack he is so proud of, and for what? Just to punch aBeta he's had a disagreement with in the past? It doesn't seem like Konstantin at all, and he wouldnever tarnish our reputation like that.

After I've gone inside my house and had a shower, I start to feel guilty for just leaving him out there,and I remove a woolly comforter from my linen cupboard. Breathing out a sigh, I wrap my silknightgown around my body and walk out to throw this over him, at least. However, when I get tothe car, I replace it empty.

What the fuck? Did he wake up and leave without at least shouting at me? Damnit, I've angeredhim, and he'll probably let me have it tomorrow morning.

“Lily,” I hear his voice over the mind link.

“I'm here,” I answered.

“Meet me in the woods behind Volkov mansion and come alone.” He orders, and I can tell by histone that he is pissed off with me. “Il am on my way.”

Fuck, what am I in for now??
