Legacy of Darkness
The Sins of Man

Lumina and Helios were back aboard the Blue Falcon, Lumina was stood looking out of the cockpit, when Helios walked in.

"So, what's your angle?" He asked.

"Pardon?" Lumina asked.

"Back there, I know you're not that bad in social situations" Helios frowned.

"I don't understand what you are getting at..." Lumina shrugged.

"Don't play dumb" Helios grunted. "You're pretty well known for stealing other people's appearances and blending in perfectly. You know how to act in these situations, I'm trying to work out why you would blow your cover in front of Selene" Helios pondered. Lumina shrugged and sat down in one of the chairs in the cockpit.

"I'm uninterested in helping Selene liberate this city" Lumina shrugged.

"She hadn't even asked yet" Helios said as he folded his arms.

"Humans won't do something for nothing, it isn't in their nature" Lumina replied. "I just took action first, to prevent myself from being put into that situation" She said as she relaxed in the chair.

"Who do you think you are, anyway? Judging mankind..." Helios sighed.

"I didn't say mankind, I said humans" Lumina shrugged.

"Whatever! You killed millions and have the gall to insult us" Helios frowned. Lumina stood up and grabbed Helios by his neck and pushed him against the wall.

"Listen here, the only reason I haven't killed you yet is because my sister chose you to for this mission" Lumina growled. "I know humans, I lived among humans. In my city, Utopia, and that city got razed to the ground, everyone was slaughtered and do you know who was responsible?!" Lumina shouted.

"...Humans?" Helios coughed.

"Damned right it was humans" Lumina said as she released her grip on Helios, he fell to the floor coughing. "They came to my land, for the power of the Light Crystal..." Lumina sighed.

"I'm sorry..." Helios replied, still coughing.

"They killed all of my friends, they hung them in the streets, and..." Lumina looked away. "All for power" She added.

"Not all humans are like them though" Helios replied. Lumina sighed and kneeled down close to Helios.

"All humans are like that" Lumina growled. "Even Abyssia's precious Roisin is like that. Given the chance, she'd probably give everything for power" She shook her head.

"You don't know that" Helios sighed. "You can't see into the heart of every human" He added.

"I saw it, when she fought me, that look in her eyes" Lumina frowned.

"You mean, after you killed her friend? Abyssia told me about that too" Helios said, standing up. "You preach and you preach, but the truth is, you sold us out already for power. To the Senior Partners" He shrugged.

"I did that for Araneia!" Lumina roared. Helios didn't even flinch.

"You did it for power, just as you crushed Terrana and Mystallia for power. You're as guilty as anyone of hungering for power" Helios shouted. "You say you hate humans, but you kill Hubuns, Lacermen and Elvmen indiscriminately, so don't you come on all high and mighty, because you have more blood on those hands than the whole of humanity combined" Helios added. Lumina smirked a little.

"My, my, Abyssia chose well" Lumina laughed.

"Excuse me?" Helios asked.

"Til now I thought you were another of her spineless admirer lackeys" Lumina explained. "But you have real backbone, to stand here in front of me, and... speak your mind" Lumina patted Helios on the shoulder.

"I meant every word of it too" Helios said.

Lumina suddenly felt a pain in her head. She put her hands on her temples. It was a voice, Abyssia's voice.

"Emergency situation... Rivenlake... Send your Iceman" Abyssia's voice echoed. The pain stopped and Lumina stood up, she looked at Helios.

"What was that?" Helios asked.

"Abyssia... something is happening in Rivenlake... I need to send Iceman" Lumina said, with a worried look on her face.

"I'm sure he's more than capable of sorting whatever problem has arisen" Helios shrugged. Lumina shook her head.

"You don't understand, Abyssia sounded almost hysterical with worry... something bad is happening" Lumina frowned.

"We could take the airship if you wanted?" Helios asked.

"No, she said send Iceman, whatever it is, she wants me away from it..." Lumina replied.

"If she wants you away from it, then..." Helios' looked worried. Lumina nodded and walked over to the window.

"It's him" She said as she looked out of the window. Iceman jumped from the Airship landing through the smog into the city below and began running very fast in the direction of Rivenlake, destroying anything that barred his path.

He smashed through the wall surrounding the lands of Demi and into the Skarlit Skies Woods. Towards certain death.
