Maya

I put the last clothes in the washing machine and turned it on. Singing, I went back to the room while Nate looked at me from inside the bed, completely wrapped in blankets and with a cup of tea in his hands.

“You’re out of clothes,” I pointed out as I took my shoes.

“I can always stay naked,” he offered with a mischievous smile.

“Not even fever stops you,” I said, laughing.

Nate felt his sweaty forehead. That morning he had woken up better than in the past days, his fever had subsided and, unfortunately for me, he had stopped raving.

The day before, after Lucas and Devon had left, all he had done was rave. Talking about how wonderful I was in bed, how his d**k got up every time he even thought of me. Several times he said he loved me, and I couldn’t stop my heart from exploding in my chest. I wanted it to be true. I really wanted him to love me, I wanted him to look me in the eye and tell me how much he loved me.

“Why stop me when I’m always hot?” Nate said, drinking tea in all seriousness.

I sat on the bed and put my shoes on.

“Where would you go,” he asked after a moment of observation.

“I have to go shopping and take the opportunity to get some clothes for you,” I said as I got back on my feet.

“Mmmh” reflected Nate as he sipped the tea. “So you can get some condoms,” he said seriously.

I looked at him, surprised, “But you can’t think of anything else? Is it possible that your brain only functions as a function of s*x?” I said, upset.

“Just with you,” he said, “But don’t forget,” he continued seriously.

I rolled my eyes and approached him, feeling his forehead and replaceing it strangely a little warmer than that morning.

“Get in bed and rest,” I said.

“I’ve been in bed resting for three days,” he said, complaining.

He grabbed my hand and took it to his lips, then placed a gentle k**s on my knuckles.

“Stop flirting, you’re distracting me!” I said, taking my hand off his.

In response, Nate picked me up and threw me on the bed above him.

“Romantic dinner, just you and me,” Nate said as he looked me in the eye and gently stroked my cheek.

I bit my l*p as I got lost in his crystalline blue eyes. I wanted to eat him with k****s but I knew that if I did, I would never leave the house.

“Enough,” I said, shaking my head and standing up.

Nate gave me a mischievous smile. “What? Are you afraid of not controlling yourself in my presence?”.

” It’s the other way around,” I said, standing up.

Nate panicked in bed with his hands crossed behind his head with a mocking smile on his lips.

“I can only admit to being as irresistible as a few men on earth,” he said cheerfully.

“You’re an a*****e,” I said, walking to the door.

“The keys are in the computer bag. The alarm code is 15426,” he sighed.

“Well”

“Condoms!” he reminded me as I approached the front door.

I rolled my eyes and took the car seat with Axel and then walked out the door.

*******

After I did the shopping, I headed to Nate’s apartment. When I entered the door of the building, the goalkeeper didn’t even look at me, he continued undaunted with his Ipad, probably with some idiotic game.

I pushed the stroller up to the elevator and went in, then pressed the button on the tenth floor.

Once I got inside Nate’s apartment, I took the stroller apart and just took the car seat, taking Axel around.

Nate’s house was fabulous. The brand new and super modern furniture. The living room was equipped with a mega TV to which several appliances were attached. The huge sofa was placed in front of the TV and was spotless. All the furniture was impeccable.

I walked towards the room. When I got in, I found a huge double bed in front of me. The dark blankets were spotless, and behind the bed was a huge window overlooking the Philadelphia skyline. I walked over to the walk-in closet, and as soon as I walked in, I was overwhelmed by Nate’s wonderful smell. The clothes were carefully hung in their places.

I took a bag and started putting clothes inside, the ones I liked the most, of course. I carefully stacked them on top of each other as Axel laughed and kept his feet in the car seat.

After I finished with the closet, I went to the bathroom and took some of his products, and put them in the duffel bag as well.

When it was over, I took the duffel bag, and Axel, and I went back to the front. I rearranged the car seat and took the duffel bag. The moment I locked the door, I heard the apartment’s intercom ring, but I didn’t open it back. It wasn’t my job to answer, and then Nate wasn’t there, so it was impossible that anyone who was attached to the intercom could accomplish his mission.

I turned around and pushed the stroller into the elevator. Once inside, I picked up the phone in my hand and started scrolling through the messages. The doors opened and I walked out, always looking at the screen and laughing at the picture that Jess had sent of Andrew asleep on the beach and covered in sand. I did not envy him at all. I would never be in a place alone with Jess, although Andrew had never complained.

I hurried to write an answer as I went to the front door of the palace.

Someone was arguing with the doorman but I didn’t care at all. I continued on my way until a voice stopped me.

“Maya?”

I looked up and froze with my stroller, my eyes wide open and my mouth half open.

I’m screwed.
