Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee
Chapter 843: I May Be Incompetent, But I’m Now at the Seventh Stage

Tina's lips curved slightly as she spoke in a calm, measured tone. "Grandpa Langdon, such big words. Are you trying to say that the Langdon family no longer sees the government as relevant?"

Grandpa Langdon snorted coldly. "My loyalty to the government is not for a little girl like you to question. Do you think having the Brookes and Farrell families backing you allows you to act recklessly? Today, I'll deal with you. And after that, the Brookes and Farrell families will follow. Their downfall will be because of your foolishness!"

Tina chuckled, her smile wild and defiant. "Foolish? I think I'm quite clever, actually."

"Enough talk. I'll send you to the underworld right now!" Grandpa Langdon declared, striking out at Tina with a palm.

Though the strike appeared light, it carried the force of a fifth-stage master. If it landed, Tina wouldn't survive unscathed-if she survived at all.

But Tina stood firmly in place, unmoving.

Grandpa Langdon sneered. Did she really think a small protective shield could withstand the power of a fifth-stage master? Absurd!

Yet, in the next moment, his smile froze. He stared at Tina in disbelief, then shifted his gaze to Jared.

With a casual movement of his arm, Jared effortlessly dissipated Grandpa Langdon's energy attack.

It was too easy-like swatting away a mosquito.

But this wasn't just any energy attack; it was a strike infused with eighty percent of a fifth-stage master's power. How could Jared block it so effortlessly?

Unwilling to accept this, Grandpa Langdon activated his energy again, his voice cold. "It seems I need to take this seriously."

This time, he unleashed his full strength, directing the attack toward both Jared and Tina.

But even at full strength, Jared met him with nothing more than his hands. He didn't even take a single step back.

Grandpa Langdon stared at him in shock. "You... how is this possible?"

Jared stood with his hands in his pockets, looking relaxed and indifferent. "Oh, I forgot to mention. My wife, Tina, thought I was too idle, so she had me train with her while she practiced her abilities. I may be incompetent, but I'm now at the seventh stage."

The revelation was almost comical. It turned out that while helping Tina train, Jared had discovered that he could easily master energy abilities without any internal force.

Even more astonishing, his training speed far surpassed Tina's.

Their curiosity piqued, they consulted Master Tam, a renowned expert in abilities. Master Tam, who had long since refrained from using his powers after ascending Serenity Ridge, was one of the few who could provide answers. Among his ten disciples, only Tina knew of his abilities.

After examining Jared, Master Tam was amazed. He proclaimed Jared a once-in-a-century prodigy, with a physique seemingly designed by the heavens for cultivation. With focus and effort, Jared could easily reach the tenth stage-a level so distant that most could only dream of it.

For ordinary people, reaching the third stage might take twenty to thirty years. Beyond that, each stage could take at least a decade to achieve-if they had exceptional talent. For the average person, it could take decades just to advance one stage.

Even Grandpa Langdon, considered a genius in his own right, had reached the fifth stage only in his old age.

Master Tam had called Jared and Tina monsters.

Tina, in her twenties, had reached the fourth stage in just two months.

Jared, in his thirties, had reached the seventh stage in the same amount of time.

It was beyond comprehension.

Grandpa Langdon's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. "Impossible! You're only thirty!"

Carl and Luke, standing nearby, were equally stunned, rendered speechless by the revelation.

Luke, in particular, felt a deep sense of defeat. For years, he had worked tirelessly, training without a single day of rest, all to secure his position as the Langdon family's heir. Despite his relentless effort, he had only reached the fourth stage. Tina being a fourth-stage master at her young age had already shocked him. But Jared at the seventh stage? It was beyond belief.

How could they even hope to fight him?

"You'd be surprised how many things you don't understand, Grandpa Langdon," Jared said calmly, his voice steady and deliberate. "Today, my wife and I came here. You should've known this was the end for the Langdon family."

Grandpa Langdon snapped out of his shock, his expression darkening as he heard Jared's words. "The Langdon family has contributed money and resources to the government for years, ensuring its stability. Do you think you can destroy us with some insignificant evidence? Does the government even know about this?"

Jared's voice turned cold. "Do you think we would've brought these people here today without the government's orders? The Langdon family's attempt to overthrow the current regime and seize power won't be tolerated-not by the government, and not by the people."

Grandpa Langdon's face changed drastically. "Nonsense! The Langdon family may have used improper methods to amass wealth, but we've never done anything to harm the government. Don't try to frame us!"

Jared sneered. "Why don't you ask your son what he's been up to?"

It was true that Grandpa Langdon and Carl had never engaged in actions that directly threatened the government. Their crimes mostly involved illegal profiteering and blood on their hands-enough to warrant punishment but not enough to uproot the Langdon family entirely.

But Luke-the Langdon family's second son-was another story altogether.

Grandpa Langdon whipped his head around to glare at Luke. "What have you done?"

At first, Grandpa Langdon had assumed that Jared and Tina were using the Bailey family incident as a pretext to take down the Langdon family.

But after witnessing Jared and Tina's abilities, he believed Jared's claim that someone within the family had been involved in something far worse.

If that weren't the case, Jared wouldn't have needed to bring such a large group to confront them. With his abilities, Jared alone could have wiped out the Langdon family.

(The truth was, Jared simply didn't feel like doing it himself.)

Grandpa Langdon: ...

Luke stared at Jared in shock. He hadn't expected Jared to know about his secret activities.

Everything Luke had done had been meticulously concealed. How could Jared possibly know?

As Luke struggled to come up with an explanation, Jared spoke again. "Still trying to think of an excuse? If you're stumped, why not bring Dorothy Russell out? We'll give you time to think."

Luke's shock was impossible to hide.

A moment ago, he had hoped Jared was merely guessing.

But the mention of Dorothy Russell shattered that illusion.

Luke now understood-it was over.

Not only was Jared aware of his deeds, but with abilities like his, who could stand against him?

"What Dorothy Russell? I don't know what you're talking about," Luke said after a moment of thought, feigning ignorance. "Jared, your grudge is with the Bailey family. Victor is the one who harmed your aunt. What does this have to do with the Langdon family? If you want revenge, go after him. The Langdon family has always supported the government's development."

Jared laughed. "Victor won't escape, and neither will you. Dorothy Russell won't either."

He paused, then added, "As for the person backing you, she might manage to run for a while-but not for long."
