Pretending to be startled awake, my expression turned to exaggerated shock.
“Officers, what’s going on?”
The police, lacking pleasantries, entered with an arrest warrant aimed at me. I acted as if I was utterly shocked. Eason attempted to shut the door, but his efforts proved futile against the officers.
He struggled hard and resisted arrest.
Finally, he was pinned to the ground, his hands were tied behind his back, and he was still shouting even after being handcuffed.
“Officers, there’s been a misunderstanding! I’m innocent!”
His protests were in vain against the undeniable evidence. Linda had discreetly installed viruses in his folder.

In court, Eason’s family initially seethed with rage, wishing they could kill Lola.
However, when the secret truth came out, they were so shocked and ashamed to have such a family member and even too embarrassed to see me.
Finally, everything was settled.
Lola and 1, who shared similar fate, toasted our victory with Joe and Linda.
“Congratulations on ridding ourselves of scumbags!”
“Here’s to victory and a fresh start!”
In that moment, I was grateful I had been the emergency doctor the night Lola faced severe bleeding.
I was also thankful that Michael, in his drunken stafe, had forwarded all calls to Eason.
Exquisite coincidence was the gift that fate gave us.
The End.
