Chapter 1889

“Oh, my name is Emmanuel. My brothers and I are fishermen who lost our
way while drifting at sea. We accidentally docked at Eldoria’s port and
stopped here while passing through. We kindly ask for your assistance.”
Emmanuel was well–versed in how things operated in the city. Since they
had docked without prior permission, the other party had the right to drive
them away.
“Fishermen?”
Owen immediately frowned, his gaze revealing disdain and scorn. If it weren’t
for the large number of people with Emmanuel, many of whom looked
formidable, he would have driven them away without hesitation.
“That’s right. We’ll leave the port right away and won’t cause any further
disturbance.”
Emmanuel didn’t want any unnecessary trouble and intended to leave
immediately.

However, with nearly three thousand people, moving quickly wasn’t exactly
easy.

“Wait!”
Sure enough, Owen stopped them, suspicion creeping into his voice. “You’re
not illegal immigrants, are you? With so many people, I can’t just let you
leave.”
The others immediately tensed up.
They had been confined on Dark Night Island for so many years that it would
be difficult to trace their identities, even if some of them were citizens of
Chanaea.
Emmanuel and Mackenzie were both eager to return home. Though they
could easily go back themselves, many of their brothers wanted to join them,
and they couldn’t just abandon them.
If Owen called the police, things would become exceedingly troublesome.

Mackenzie, fully aware of the situation, quickly spoke to Owen, “Hello, I am
Mackenzie of the Quillen family from Yeringham in Nuthana. These people
are my employees, not lost fishermen. Please do us a favor, and I will
certainly repay you when I return.”
“The Quillen family from Yeringham?!”
Upon hearing those words, Owen’s expression changed dramatically, He
looked Mackenzie up and down in shock. “Wasn’t the Quillen family exterminated more than half a month ago? How could you be in Eldoria?”
“What?!”
Emmanuel and Mackenzie were struck as if by lightning, their faces turning
pale.
Mackenzie, who was pregnant and nearing her due date, could hardly bear
the shock and nearly fainted, but Emmanuel caught her in time.
“Mr. Owen, you’d better clarify what you’re saying! Don’t speak carelessly

about such things!”
Emmanuel warned, his tone filled with intensity.

The Quillen family had been a towering force in Nuthana–who could
challenge them, let alone annihilate them?
“Hmph, this has been reported nationwide; everyone knows it. Why would I
make it up?”
Owen sneered. “I think you’re the ones spouting nonsense. One moment
you’re lost fishermen, the next you’re from the Quillen family in Yeringham. I’m
certain you’re illegal immigrants, and today, none of you are going
anywhere!”
Emmanuel’s face darkened, and a murderous aura emanated from him.
He and Mackenzie were both astute enough to see that Owen seemed to harbor ill will toward the Quillen family–perhaps even animosity. When he mentioned the family’s downfall, there wasn’t a hint of sympathy in his tone,

only a trace of schadenfreude.
“Hold on!” Larry’s voice cut through the tension, his presence a sudden
beacon of relief. He swiftly stepped forward, his manner brimming with
amiable intent. With a warm, apologetic smile directed at Emmanuel, he
reassured him, “Emmanuel, you are free to leave. We have no intention of
creating any obstacles for you.”
As Owen prepared to voice another objection, Larry cast him a sharp,
commanding glance that effectively silenced him.

Turning back to Emmanuel with a genuine, reassuring smile, Larry continued, “Should you require any assistance, I would be more than willing to provide you with some financial aid and arrange transportation.”
Emmanuel, whose anxiety to return home was palpable, felt a surge of relief
at this unexpected offer. However, Larry’s overly accommodating demeanor gave him pause, and he couldn’t help but feel a hint of suspicion. “Larry, I hesitate to impose. Why are you extending such generous help?”

Larry responded with heartfelt sincerity, his eyes gleaming with earnestness.
“As the adage goes, ‘At home, rely on your parents; away from home, rely on
your friends.‘ Emmanuel, you strike me as someone destined for greatness. 1,
Larry, would be honored to be considered your friend.”
Emmanuel scrutinized Larry’s face, searching for any trace of deception, but
found none. Still, he glanced towards Mackenzie for her insight. Her
perceptiveness often unveiled truths that eluded him.
Mackenzie, though eager to return home, was not overly concerned with
Larry’s motives. She promptly addressed him with gratitude. “Thank you, Mr.
Larry.”
“There’s no need for thanks,” Larry replied graciously. With a flourish, he
produced a card from his pocket and extended it to Emmanuel. “Inside this
card is a million. Use it as you see fit. I can also arrange for vehicles to
transport you from the port, or assist you with travel to any specific
destination in Chanaea if you wish.”
“Thank you,” Emmanuel said, his voice laden with genuine appreciation. “I will

be sure to repay your kindness tenfold in the future!”
Larry, displaying his generosity with a wave of his hand, dismissed the
formality. He gestured for his men to begin making the necessary
arrangements. His demeanor radiated warmth and magnanimity, ensuring
that Emmanuel and his entourage would face no further difficulties.
