Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1104: It's for my benefit
As soon as Bergerian returned to his private villa by the sea, he went straight to the first floor.
The butler tried to report to him too late.
"Sofía."
Bergerian opened the door to his room, there was still a slight smile on his face, but his face instantly sank when he saw the room was empty. "Housekeeper!"
"Monsieur, I am here." The butler hurried to his side, his hands clasped uneasily in front of him.
Bergerian turned around, his eyes narrowing slightly, his gaze stern as he glared at him, "Where is the man?"
"The man, the man was taken away by Madame." Despite his fear, the butler answered truthfully.
Bergerian was furious, his veins were rippling and he asked in a stern voice, "What did I tell you before I left?" "Sir, I'm sorry, it was all my fault."
The matter had come to this, the butler could not dare to shirk his responsibility, he could only take it all on. "Rubbish!" Bergerian was so angry that he kicked him in the face.
The butler took the kick and fell backwards onto the floor, not daring to wail and get up immediately.
"Sir, madam insisted on taking her away and I just couldn't stop her." The butler explained.
Bergerian's whole face twisted in anger and he said through gritted teeth, "Lisa Agnelli!"
He had worked so hard to get hold of Eloise, and then Lisa, that jealous woman, had taken her away.
Lisa had challenged his boundaries time and time again, and he was indeed wary of the Agnelli Family behind her.
But this time, he won't let her off the hook!
...
Lisa listened to Thomas and decided to be a meek and understanding wife.
In the past, she had always been capricious, relying on the power of her family to force Bergerian to do things he didn't like. But now it was different, she would listen to him properly.
If he told her to go east, she would never go west.
"Marie, do you think Monsieur will really fall in love with me again when he sees how I've changed, like that gentleman said?" Marie had been Lisa's maid for many years, so was well aware of the relationship problems between her and Bergerian.
"It will, madam." Marie said, "Monsieur will be especially happy to see the change in you."
"Will he?" Lisa couldn't help but look forward to it.
Just then the butler hurried in, "Madam, Monsieur is back."
Lisa stood up in excitement at the news, "Bergerian is back?" "Yes, madam."
Lisa hurriedly ran out with the hem of her skirt.
"Madame ..." The housekeeper tried to warn her that Monsieur did not look well, but it was too late.
Hurrying downstairs, Lisa caught a glimpse of Bergerian sitting in the living room and rushed over to him.
"Bergerian," she said, looking at him with excitement, "you're back."
Bergerian raised his eyes, his gaze warm.
Lisa's excitement instantly cooled, and even her smile became a little forced.
"What's wrong?" She inquired with concern.
"Where is everyone?" Bergerian asked.
Of course Lisa knew who he was asking about, but played dumb anyway, "People? What people?"
Bergerian narrowed his eyes, "Lisa, don't you dare challenge me over and over again."
"I don't know what you're talking about." Still pretending not to know, Lisa smiled and continued, "You've come back for a rare visit, I'll have the kitchen prepare your favourite dishes." With those words, she turned around and was heading for the kitchen.
"Lisa!"
Bergerian's low yell rang out behind her.
Lisa's foot faltered and the smile slowly faded from her face as she closed her eyes, took a deep breath and turned around.
"Yes, that woman was taken from me."
Lisa admitted.
She locked eyes with Bergerian without fear.
"Where is the person? Hand it over and I can leave you alone."
Bergerian decided to give her one more chance.
Lisa said softly, "Ran away."
"Ran away?" Bergerian stood up excitedly, "Say that again!"
"Say it as many times as you like, a man who runs away is a man who runs away."
"Lisa Agnelli!"
Bergerian rushed up to her and grabbed her by the lapels, glaring at her in anger.
Lisa was a little scared inside, but tried to maintain her composure, "I was just going to bring her back here, who knew she would take advantage of the situation and run away." She was excusing herself.
But Bergerian wasn't buying it at all, "Lisa, I'm warning you, if anything happens to her, I won't let you off the hook!"
He knew her too well.
Any time there had been an extra woman around him in the last few years, she had secretly dealt with her. So he suspected that the same thing had happened to Eloise.
His words infuriated Lisa.
"Bergerian, don't you forget who is your wife! Are you going too far to threaten me over another woman?" Bergerian smiled coldly, "You are nothing but my wife."
"Bergerian!" Lisa's face turned red with anger, her eyes fixed on him with a deadly stare.
"Madam, calm down." Marie hurried over and whispered to her, "Don't you forget you're going to change."
As soon as Lisa heard that, she realised what she had done.
Quickly, she calmed down.
Taking a deep breath, she pushed down the anger in her heart and put a smile back on her face, "Bergerian, let's forget about this today, I'll leave you alone." Bergerian thought he had heard wrong, was this still Lisa Agnelli?
It was amazing how quickly she had collected herself.
"I'll have the kitchen prepare dinner." Lisa smiled at him.
"No need." Bergerian said, "Tell me, where is she?"
He still couldn't let go of that bitch!
Lisa squeezed her palms together and did her best to keep a smile on her face, "I already told you, she ran away."
"Lisa, you should know very well that I am an impatient man. I'm going to give you one last chance to hand over the person!"
"Coincidentally, I'm also an impatient man and don't have the patience to repeat what I've said." Lisa looked at him.
Bergerian stared dead at her for a long moment before speaking again, but this time his tone was much softer.
"Lisa, you should know how important she is. Without her, Curry's research won't be completed, and all my efforts will be in vain. So, you'll give me the person, okay?" Lisa frowned, "Why do you believe me when I said the person got away?"
At this point, Carl, who had been standing silent, spoke up.
"Sir, madam is not lying, the woman did run away."
Bergerian raised his eyes to look at him, still a little suspicious in his mind.
Perhaps seeing what he was thinking, Lisa said, "I did hate to kill that woman, but she ran away before I could do it."
At this point, Lisa's expression was a little resigned.
"Are you sure you're not lying to me?" Bergerian asked.
"What would I lie to you about?" Lisa asked instead of answering.
Bergerian nodded, "Fine, then I'll trust you for now, if I replace out that you're lying to me, then there's no point in our marriage existing."
"Bergerian, for the sake of one woman, do you have to do this?" Lisa got angry.
"I'm not doing it for a woman, I'm doing it for my benefit."
Bergerian gave her a deep look and marched off.
"Bergerian!" said Lisa, hurrying after her, "Aren't you going to be home for dinner?"
"No appetite."
With those words, Bergerian left.
Lisa was angry and disappointed, she sighed heavily, when on earth would he really fall in love with himself?
