Love Comes To Me
Chapter 116: Trying to investigate her past

Hector Rogers was in a bad mood but his sanity was still intact and he spoke nonchalantly, "Just because you're temporarily disillusioned doesn't mean there's no hope, I haven't given up on the ones I've looked at over the years." No matter what Eloise Thompson says, Hector Rogers won't give up.

Between them, they are destined to be entwined for life.

Jensen Walker laughed, "It does look like you, but you still have this frustration written all over your face, it's pretty hard on the inside, isn't it?"

He has known Hector Rogers for many years and over those years he has been very persistent in many things, no matter how hard it is, Hector Rogers has fought hard and that is how the Rogers Group came to be what it is today. But this was the first time Jensen Walker had ever seen him like this for a woman.

After a pause, Jensen Walker spoke up again, "If you really like it, why don't you look into what happened back then, your little girl's reluctance to be with you seems to have a lot to do with what happened back then! Just replace out and get rid of that obstacle in her mind."

Hector Rogers' eyes were downcast. He didn't want to look into it, but he could see that it had been a big problem for Eloise Thompson in the first place.

He was afraid that, if he found out about it, Eloise Thompson would really stop seeing him.

For the first time ever, Hector Rogers has met something he was afraid to do.

Without responding to Jensen Walker's words, he picked up the glass of wine on the table and continued to drink.

...

On this side, the Rogers family, Matriarch Godbold took Solomon home once Hector Rogers had left.

But all the way home, the little one was sullen, didn't eat a few bites of his meal, and was sitting on the sofa at the moment wondering what he was thinking about. Matriarch Godbold looked distressed and she asked, "What are you thinking about, baby?"

Reeva Lawson on the side, although she knew in her heart why Solomon was upset, smiled and asked, "Yes! Tell Auntie okay." Solomon's eyes were downcast and he didn't hide it.

"Auntie Eloise looked in such a bad mood just now! Grandma, is she mad at Solomon, is she never going to ignore Solomon again." Thinking about it made Solomon more and more sad.

Matriarch Godbold's heart melted and he spoke up to reassure her, "No way! How could she ignore you! Our Solomon is so lovely."

"But Auntie Eloise was fine this afternoon, I was the one who lied to her daddy about being sick, begged her to come to the cottage and locked her in her room, I'm to blame, I shouldn't have lied to Auntie Eloise if I'd known." On hearing this, Matriarch Godbold froze in his tracks.

Matriarch Godbold thought that Eloise Thompson was the one who had been in the villa and had promised himself to hook up with Hector Rogers behind his back.

But I didn't expect ...

For a moment, she had some mixed emotions.

Reeva Lawson also froze, and for a moment her gaze sank.

What happened to Hector Rogers and Eloise Thompson when the two were locked in the room?

Solomon continued to speak, "Grandma, will Auntie Eloise not even want to see me anymore." Matriarch Godbold was quick to speak up and reassure, "No it won't. No it won't."

She sighed, her own grandson and son were so fond of Eloise Thompson, what could she do now.

Hey ...

Reeva Lawson panicked for a moment, fearing that Matriarch Godbold had swayed her.

But on second thought, I don't think so. Hector Rogers and Eloise Thompson are probably going to have a hard time trying to make up, so you must hold on to them yourself.

Later that night, Hector Rogers and Jensen Walker were so drunk that it was Rupert Rogers who picked them up and took them home.

Looking at his brother's appearance, Rupert Rogers couldn't help but sigh. He had thought that his sister-in-law could make up with his brother after today, but he didn't expect that the problem would be bigger now. What can I do now?

The bigger the problem, the more Rupert Rogers wanted to replace out what had happened to Eloise Thompson back then.

...

Since that day, Eloise Thompson has not seen Hector Rogers, including Solomon and Rupert Rogers.

Every time she returns home and is alone, she can't help but think of the two men, and Eloise Thompson feels empty inside, but it is her choice and the best choice, and there is no one to blame.

Eloise Thompson spent her days numbing herself with work, forcing herself to stop thinking about Hector Rogers and Solomon.

That afternoon, the mobile phone on the desk rang, the name of Egbert Chumley flashing on the screen, and Eloise Thompson took a moment to pick up the phone. "Hey, Alumni."

At the end of the conversation, the gentle voice of Egbert Chumley came through on the other end of the line.

"I thought I was invited to dinner in a few days, Eloise, it's been a few days, you didn't forget about me, did you?"

Eloise Thompson paused, before remembering that she had promised to have dinner with Egbert Chumley a few days ago.

Eloise Thompson apologised slightly and said, "Sorry, Alumni, I've been so busy the last few days that I forgot."

"Nothing, tonight then? Are you free tonight?"

Eloise Thompson thought about it and didn't refuse.

...

Later in the evening, arriving at the restaurant appointment, Eloise Thompson brought along a selection of advertising agency materials for Egbert Chumley.

Looking through the information, Egbert Chumley couldn't help but say, "Eloise, is it really impossible to work with the Rogers Group?"

At these words, Eloise Thompson's eyes lowered; how could she possibly go back to Hector Rogers now?

"Sorry, Alumni, there's nothing I can do about it."

Egbert Chumley was more or less aware that there might be some personal reasons for this, and he didn't push the issue.

At the mention of the Rogers Group, Eloise Thompson couldn't help but think of Hector Rogers again, and wondered how he was doing these days, if he was still working non-stop as before... She frowned slightly, and couldn't help but feel a little sad inside.

Egbert Chumley, seeing this, spoke up with some concern and asked, "Eloise, what is it? Are you sick? You don't look well!"

Eloise Thompson snapped back to her senses and shook her head in a rush.

"No. It's just been a busy few days at work, I'm fine, Alumni."

At that, Egbert Chumley nodded, "You have to take care of your health even if you're busy, look at you, you've been distracted since dinner, are you in a bad mood?"

Eloise Thompson smiled and was about to open her mouth to say no when she heard Egbert Chumley across the table continue, "Don't try to fool me, look at you, it's written all over your face that you're sad."

For a moment, Eloise Thompson was a little embarrassed.

"Still can't hide anything from Alumni!"

It used to be the same in the student union, Eloise Thompson was always the one to carry the load when things went wrong, but Egbert Chumley would always see it and replace a way to help her out.

Egbert Chumley looked gentle and said after a moment, "By the way, there is a celebration at the University of J in a few days, and the president has invited me back as a visiting professor, so let's go together then and have a break." Thinking that it had been some years since she had been back to U of J, Eloise Thompson didn't say no and said yes, and the two continued to eat their dinner.
