Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1202: Tonight you are mine
Eloise struggled to no avail, and could only be carried into the lift.
She clutched her palms as her mind raced.
There was absolutely no way she could just sit there and wait for death, she had to replace a way to save herself.
Ding!
The lift arrived on the twenty-second floor.
As soon as the doors opened, two foreign men carried Eloise out.
The corridor was thickly carpeted and there was no sound at all as people walked on it, the dim light poured down and the silence was endless. The two men stop at the door of a room and as the door opens, Eloise is pushed inside.
Caught off guard, she fell heavily to the floor.
Fortunately, the floor was carpeted.
She scrambled to her feet and looked up to see Bergerian standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.
Bergerian slowly turned around, his dark gaze directed towards her.
Her heart tightened, and she asked with a sense of composure, "What do you want?"
Despite her efforts to appear calm, the tremble in her voice gave away her true emotions.
Bergerian stepped forward, stopping in front of her, his gaze unrestrained as he surveyed her, the corners of his mouth slowly curving up. "Beautiful."
She was indeed a beauty, even with simple make-up, but her features were still so delicate that one could not take one's eyes off her.
What he had given her was just a very simple black dress, no fussy design, but on her, it was as if it had been tailor-made for her, fitting her well and showing off her beautiful figure without doubt. Her skin became even fairer. Her skin became whiter and whiter.
She was beautiful in the light.
And such a beauty belonged to someone else.
This made Bergerian feel uncomfortable and his expression sank a few notches.
"What the hell do you want?" Eloise questioned once more, suppressing the fear in her heart.
Bergerian raised an eyebrow, "Nothing, I just want you to be my date to the party tonight."
"Is that really all?" Eloise was half-expecting it.
"Of course."
Eloise nodded, "Fine, I'll trust you for now. But please don't forget what you promised me."
Bergerian hooked his lips, "Don't worry, I'll let you know the date of Earlene's return when the party is over."
There was no way to be sure that he would actually keep his promise, but she wanted to take a gamble.
As long as there was a little hope, she didn't want to let it go.
...
At the party, Edgar, uninterested in socialising with the others, kept his eyes on the door, afraid he might miss Eloise's entrance.
"Mr Edgar," Manzanares said, not expecting to see Edgar here and rushed over as soon as she saw him.
Edgar turned his head and pulled the corner of his mouth up when he saw it was Manzanares, "Hello, Mr. Manzanares."
"Are you alone?" Manzanares asked curiously when he saw that he had no female companion with him.
"No, there's my cousin."
His cousin?
Manzanares raised an eyebrow, "You mean my sister-in-law?"
Edgar nodded, "Yes."
Manzanares looked around hurriedly, "Where is she, did my older brother come along?"
"He hasn't returned home yet, just my cousin."
"What took you so long to go and not come back?" Manzanares asked suspiciously.
It had been a long time since he had last been in contact with his big brother, for a virus profile.
"Got held up with things." Edgar didn't tell him the truth and pulled a random excuse.
"So that's it." Manzanares nodded and then said as if remembering something, "By the way, I haven't thanked you for what happened last time."
Because of stealing virus data, his men were caught by Pierce of SA Group.
Fortunately, with the help of the Khan family, his men were able to return safely.
"No thanks, it's what I should do." Edgar and Edwina gave a smile.
If it wasn't for Manzanares' help, it wouldn't have been possible to get that information and Almeida and Sener's research wouldn't have gone smoothly. "By the way, how is my sister-in-law's health?" Manzanares asked with concern.
"Not too bad."
As soon as the words left his mouth, someone suddenly exclaimed, "Isn't that Bergerian?"
Edgar turned his head and saw Bergerian and Eloise in the doorway at the same time.
"Isn't that sister-in-law?" Manzanares looked in amazement at Eloise, who was holding another man.
Edgar's face was sullen and he stared at Bergerian for a moment.
Eloise was uncomfortable as she became the centre of attention, with all sorts of curious and inquisitive looks being thrown around her.
Bergerian was keenly aware of her mood and whispered, "Don't be nervous, I'm here."
Eloise gave him a sideways glance, a sneer curling the corners of her mouth; it was the presence of him that made her all the more uncomfortable.
"Remember, you're my date tonight." Bergerian lowered his head and whispered in her ear, "If you want to know when he's coming back home, you do what a lady's companion should do." Eloise's eyes narrowed slightly and her small hands squeezed tight as she said coldly, "Don't you worry."
"What's going on here?" Manzanares withdrew her gaze and looked at Edgar in confusion.
Edgar saw Bergerian leading Eloise the other way and looked cold, gritting his teeth, "Just what you saw."
"What do you mean?" Manzanares still didn't understand.
"Mr. Manzanares, would you do me a favour?" Edgar turned his head.
"Go ahead."
"Bring Eloise here for me."
It was then that Manzanares realised something was wrong, "Mr Edgar, can you tell me what the hell is going on?"
"Mr. Manzanares, let me make this short, Eloise is being coerced by that man and we need to replace a way to help her." Manzanares blushed, "Coercion?"
"Hmm. I need your help."
Manzanares turned his head to Eloise and nodded, "Okay, I'll be right over."
"Thanks."
"No need to be so polite, that's my sister-in-law too."
With those words, Manzanares walked towards Eloise and Bergerian.
...
Eloise accompanied Bergerian around the various guests, she was forced to drink a lot of wine and her otherwise fair cheeks were flushed. "Bergerian, I can't drink any more." She tugged at Bergerian's sleeve and whispered.
Bergerian looked sideways at her flushed cheeks and the corners of his mouth curled up, "If you can't drink, you won't drink."
With that, he reached out to touch her face, only to have her dodge him.
With a flash of displeasure in his eyes, Bergerian opened his mouth to say something.
Eloise preempted him by reminding, "Mr Bergerian, please behave yourself."
Just because she had agreed to be his companion did not mean he was allowed to make a move.
At that, Bergerian lost his smile, "Sofía, I don't know what self-respect is, only that tonight you are mine."
The unmistakable tone of voice made Eloise frown and she subconsciously tried to retort when she heard a familiar voice ringing in her ears. "Mr Bergerian, I've heard a lot about you."
Eloise turned around and with a glance of joy, it was Manzanares.
Manzanares took a step towards them, a faint smile on that handsome face.
Walking up to them, Manzanares stopped and swept a faint glance at Eloise, "Mr Bergerian, hello, I'm Manzanares."
