Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1310: The Baby and I Are Waiting for You
"We need you to help us get the prince's blood." Sener stated his purpose for the call.
Paulina's heart fluttered with joy, "You have a way to develop the drug?"
"In theory, yes, but it needs to be worked out."
Sener didn't dare say anything absolute, for fear that if they couldn't develop it, it would disappoint Paulina and the others.
"All right, I'll replace a way to get Marcos' blood." Paulina readily agreed.
"Then we'll wait for Paulina's good news."
Seeing Paulina hang up the phone, Dulce worriedly asked, "Do you have a solution?"
Paulina nodded, "There must be a way."
Dulce was instantly relieved, "That's good. As long as we can develop a medicine to restore Marcos' memory, he can come back sooner." Paulina smiled and said nothing more, her expression becoming a little strained.
How was she going to get Marcos' blood?
...
Since Marcos had visited Paulina, and Mr. Juan, Mrs. Gloria had come to the Bartram family, Earlene had been watching Marcos very closely.
Marcos was standing by the window, watching the busy servants downstairs, without a hint of expression on his face, his eyes deep as dark pools. "If you're going out, you have to have me with you, or you don't go out."
In the morning, he suggested that he wanted to go for a walk, but Earlene immediately overruled him.
For a moment, he felt that morbid desire to control her.
Mark's eyes narrowed slightly at the thought.
Had he thought that the more he did it, the more suspicious she would become?
So far, at home, Earlene had been especially afraid of his contact with Paulina, and that fear was very evident.
Mark's mouth curved into a grimace; she was afraid he would remember something.
But she had forgotten one thing.
In his eyes appeared a stern look that had not been there for a long time.
He, Marcos, was not in the hands of just anyone.
At that moment, her cell phone suddenly rang, interrupting her thoughts.
He reached over and grabbed the phone from the bedside table. When he saw the caller's number, his originally stern frown instantly softened. He picked it up.
"Hello."
The familiar low voice came through the receiver and the tip of Paulina's nose felt tingly. "What are you doing?"
Her voice was a little breathy.
Marcos frowned, "Are you crying?"
Although he couldn't see it, Paulina shook her head, "I'm not."
"Then it's a cold?"
"Neither." Paulina bit her lip, "... I just miss you."
There was a slight quiver in her heart.
The corners of Mark's mouth lifted involuntarily and his voice was much softer than before: "Have you really missed me that much?". "Why aren't you responding to my messages?" Paulina asked instead of answering, with a tinge of discontent in her voice. "I'm sorry."
Marcos didn't say why, just the words.
Paulina knew she had something to say and looked no further.
"Forget it, for the fact that you answer my call today, I forgive you."
At that, Marcos couldn't help but let out a soft laugh.
Paulina was silent for a few seconds before speaking again, "Didn't you say you were coming to see the baby? When are you coming?" When?
Mark frowned, Earlene was keeping a close eye on him these days and he wasn't sure when he would be able to leave the house. Not hearing his answer, Paulina's heart lifted, "Don't you want to?" "
"No."
"Then why don't you answer me? The children and I miss you very much."
Paulina unconsciously gripped the phone tighter, mentally fearing that he would reject her.
Marcos pondered for a moment before speaking slowly, "I'll come see you and the baby, as soon as possible."
"When is soon?" asked Paulina.
"It means soon."
"Tomorrow?" asked Paulina shyly.
Her voice sounded cautious.
Marcos' heart softened, "Yes, tomorrow."
Somehow, he didn't want to disappoint her and felt he could accept all her requests without reservation.
This feeling was unprecedented.
Even with Earlene, he had never felt this way.
When she heard him say yes, Paulina was overjoyed, even her voice was tinged with joy. "Then we have a deal, the baby and I will wait for you tomorrow." "Yes."
"I won't bother you then, bye." Paulina said reluctantly.
"Bye."
Mark was about to hang up the phone when suddenly the bedroom door opened from outside.
It was Earlene.
She opened her mouth to call him just in time to see the phone in his hand, and her face changed as she rushed over to him.
"Who are you talking to on the phone?"
"Sales call." Marcos answered casually.
Paulina, on the other end of the phone, didn't dare hang up, but as soon as she heard Earlene's voice, she hung up the phone without saying anything.
At the same time, she was worried about Marcos.
She was afraid Earlene would give him a hard time.
"A sales call?" Earlene wasn't convinced.
She reached out to take the phone, but Marcos dodged her hand.
A cold look came over Earlene's face, followed by a voice with no trace of warmth, "I said it's a sales call and it's a sales call."
"I don't believe you!"
Earlene was unfazed and went to pick up the phone.
Mark's eyes shot a sharp glint and he grabbed her wrist, looking at her with a cold expression, "Don't get ahead of yourself!"
Earlene froze, "What did you say?".
Had she misheard?
Mark pushed her hand away, "Even if I become your husband, I'm not your puppet. Don't act like you want to control everything, I'm fed up!" How dare he say he hated her?
Earlene suddenly laughed and looked at him in disbelief, "Marcos, do you know what you're saying?"
Marcos grimaced, his thin lips pursed into a straight line.
"You've changed." Earlene shook her head, "Weren't you like that before? How could you say something like that to me?"
"Have I changed, or have you changed?" asked Mark rhetorically.
Earlene wrinkled her forehead, "What do you mean?"
"Since Paulina arrived, you've become unbelievable. What exactly are you afraid of? Afraid I'll get my memory back?"
At Mark's question, Earlene looked away sheepishly, not daring to look him in the eye.
"I don't know what you're talking about." She opted to play dumb.
Marcos looked at her coldly, "Do you really not know, or are you pretending not to know? You know better than anyone." Earlene clenched her fists, "And what do you mean by that now, you want to break your promise to Grandma?"
At the mention of Grandma Bartram, Marcos frowned.
"Marcos, I'm telling you, whatever happens, you'll be with me for the rest of your life."
There was that controlling streak again.
Marcos felt he would suffocate if he stayed any longer, and picked up his steps to walk out the door.
Earlene turned around and raised her voice to ask, "Where are you going?"
"For a walk."
With that statement, Mark left without looking back.
