Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1412: We, Stephen, might be sick.

"Prince, it's okay."

Alfredo was afraid that Marcos would really beat someone to death and hurried to step forward to make a sound to stop him.

Marcos took a deep breath, looked askance at Tito, who lay motionless on the floor, and turned around, "Send him to the police station." "Yes."

Marcos came striding out of the villa and saw Esteban sitting in the car.

Esteban saw him too.

They looked at each other for a few seconds before Esteban lowered his head and the car window slowly rose.

Marcos' eyes narrowed as he walked over, opened the door and climbed in.

As soon as he got in, the spacious cabin became a little cramped.

Esteban clenched his hands, not daring to say a word.

Marcos gave him a sidelong glance, but despite his anger, he calmly asked, "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I could have figured it out myself."

"Huh." Marcos chuckled softly, "Who gave you the confidence to think you could handle it all by yourself?"

"I'm strong too." Stephen looked up with a stubborn look, "And I'm your son, I can handle myself."

Seeing the slight redness in his eyes, Mark's heart sank and he retched a little.

It was good for a child to defy defeat.

But it was obvious that his opponent hadn't done it once or twice, but Esteban hadn't said anything even once, but had asked his karate instructor to teach him new moves. He was hell-bent on beating the man on his own.

If Paulina hadn't found him covered in bruises, the family might still be in the dark.

If the man had hit harder, he might have lost his life.

Thinking about it, Marcos couldn't help but feel a little scared and a little angry at the same time.

"Do you think you did the right thing?" asked Marcos in a low voice.

Esteban pressed his lips tightly together and didn't answer.

"Do you know how worried your mother is about you?" Marcos took a deep breath, suppressing the rage inside him, and continued, "She hasn't slept well for days, and she hasn't even eaten much. Do you still think you're right?" With tears on the back of his hand, Esteban choked out, "I'm sorry."

"You should apologize to your mom, not me."

Esteban wiped the tears with the back of his hand, "I'll apologize to Mom. But I'm not sorry I was wrong, I just wanted to win."

"The other person is an adult, do you think you won?" He was obviously very smart, why did he think so naively?

"Just because I can't win now doesn't mean I can't win later. If I learn a few more moves, I'll definitely be able to beat him!" A hint of cruelty rose from Esteban's eyes.

It was totally unbecoming of his age.

It was then that Marcos realized that it wasn't all defiance.

Esteban was still young enough that his anger would more or less churn inside him when he encountered something like this, but over time, once he kept losing, his psyche might gradually twist. There's more to it than meets the eye.

Mark pondered for a moment before speaking slowly, "Esteban, you are still a child too, how can your strength resist the adults, at least for a few more years?"

Stephen's heart trembled hard and his hands clenched into fists.

Although reluctantly, Dad was right, he really was no match for Tito yet, or he wouldn't have failed several times.

He lowered his head in defeat and lost all his momentum.

Marcos softened for it and reached up to rub his head, saying, "I'll call Tio Manuel, our Esteban is probably sick and needs treatment, okay?"

Esteban looked up and looked at him a little expressionless.

Marcos knew he didn't know exactly what was wrong with him, but he didn't explain, instead he said, "If you don't want your mom to worry, be a good boy and do what dad says."

At the mention of Paulina, Esteban's eyes reddened once more and he nodded, "Okay. But don't tell mom."

Marcos nodded, "No problem."

...

Back at home, Esteban called good-naturedly when he saw Paulina, "Mom."

"Good boy." Paulina was relieved to see that he was no different than usual and looked at Marcos and asked, "Why didn't you tell me you were going to pick up Esteban so I could come with you?" Marcos looked at Esteban, who clenched his palms nervously, and weakly returned, "On the spur of the moment, too late to talk to you."

"It doesn't happen much, does it?" asked Paulina.

"It's fine."

"Mom, I'm going upstairs to change."

Without waiting for Paulina's reaction, Esteban ran up the stairs with his school bag in tow.

Seeing his figure disappear around the corner of the staircase, Paulina's eyebrows furrowed and she asked uneasily, "Are you sure you're okay?" Marcos slipped his arm around her shoulders and smiled faintly, "Yes, fine."

In the evening, after Esteban had gone to sleep, Paulina quietly opened the door and entered his room.

She wanted to see if his wounds had improved with the medicine, but when she lifted his shirt, there were new bruises.

How could this have happened?

Paulina looked at Esteban's sleeping face and could not calm down for a long time.

She returned to her room after applying the medicine.

Marcos was sitting on the bed, looking at his laptop in his lap, when he looked up at the sound of movement, "More medicine?" Paulina looked at him and slowly walked to the edge of the bed and sat up.

"What's wrong?" Seeing her silence, Mark closed his laptop and asked with concern.

Paulina turned her head, lifting her eyelashes, her eyes full of concern, "Esteban has more new wounds, I think he got them today."

"I thought you said he was fine." Paulina frowned distrustfully, "Are you lying to me?"

Marcos' eyes twinkled slightly, "I'm not lying to you."

"Then why does Esteban have an injury again?" Paulina's voice rose.

She took a deep breath, "He's so little and he has so many wounds, I'm so heartbroken as a mom I don't know what to do."

Tears came to her eyes.

"Don't cry." Mark gently wiped the tears from her cheeks with his fingertips, sighed softly and said, "That violin teacher is not a good person." Paulina's brow furrowed, "What's that got to do with teachers?"

"He physically punishes Esteban every time he gets something wrong, that's why Esteban has so many bruises."

Marcos said it lightly, without telling her what had happened between Esteban and that teacher.

"How did that happen?" Paulina was a little incredulous.

She had met the teacher, he seemed like a kind and gentle enough man, how could he have physically punished Esteban with his hands?

"He did it several times and threatened Esteban not to tell us."

"So that's what happened."

Paulina finally understood why Esteban refused to tell every time she asked him, it turned out he had been threatened.

"This is outrageous!" Paulina was furious, "Esteban is just a kid, how could he do this?".

Paulina was angry and heartbroken at the thought of all those bruises on Esteban's body, she really couldn't imagine how Esteban had made it through two hours of violin lessons. "What about that teacher?" asked Paulina.

She couldn't let that teacher go, she had to get justice for Esteban.
