Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1466: As long as it's you, I'll take it.

"Where's Bonita?" asked Paulina.

"Sleeping." Distress flashed across Alvaro's face at the mention of Bonita. "They told her to go home to rest, but she wouldn't listen and insisted on staying with me." When he thinks of his wife working overtime with him while she is pregnant, Alvaro feels nothing but pain and guilt.

"When it's over, spend quality time with her." Paulina saw what he was thinking and whispered.

Alvaro nodded, "Yes. Brother has promised to give me a few days off when the time comes."

"These days have been very hard on all of you."

The predicament the company was facing this time would have been very difficult for Marcos to solve, strong as it was, if it weren't for the fact that he and the others were working together. "Sister-in-law, it's been hard for you too." Alvaro smiled, "Actually, everyone has worked hard, but it's my brother who is the most tired."

"Yes he's had a hard time." Paulina laughed lightly, "But it's all worth it if the company gets better."

Alvaro smiled and said, "Sister-in-law, you go rest too, I'll go back to the office."

"Okay."

...

Three days later.

The shareholders' meeting was held as scheduled.

Thanks to Marcos' day and night efforts, the damage caused by the IA project to the Leoz Group had been minimized, a press release had been issued and the Leoz Group's stock was slowly recovering. Everything is moving in the right direction.

Unlike the aggressive atmosphere of the last meeting, this one was cheerful, with smiles on all the shareholders' faces.

Alvaro, who entered the meeting room with Marcos, snorted with disdain.

People were realistic and only looked at profit.

"Marcos, you're already here." said uncle Herran with a smile.

Marcos looked at him slightly and walked straight to the head table and sat down, his thin lips parted, "Are you satisfied with the result, guys?"

"Yes, of course I am."

The shareholders spoke almost in unison.

The corners of Marcos' mouth lifted in a seemingly unusual way, "Since everyone is satisfied, do you still want to re-elect the president?"

"That won't be necessary." Uncle Herran looked at the others and continued, "It was never in the heart of any of us to re-elect the president. And you have done a good job, and we all feel comfortable leaving the Leoz Group in your hands." That's not what he said last time.

A sneer in Marcos' dark eyes was fleeting, and then he said quietly, "I hope that in the future, when something like this comes up, you will trust me and not doubt my abilities."

"Of course, of course."

Everyone was quick to agree, but how many of them would actually deliver when the time came.

Mark didn't care much about that, using the force to speak was more important than anything else anyway.

"If there is nothing else, then let's adjourn."

As they left the meeting room, Alvaro couldn't help but blurt out, "These so-called uncles and aunts, they all only have eyes for profit and have no regard for love!"

Marcos gave him a sidelong glance and said, "It's justifiable."

"Where is the justification for that?" Alvaro disagreed with him, "They don't even think about the fact that they are here for the Leoz Group and for you, and when things go wrong, they turn their backs on them." Alvaro was outraged by the way these shareholders were behaving!

"Alvaro, do you know what you have to do to shut people up?" asked Marcos.

Alvaro thought for a moment and asked seriously, "How do you go about gagging?"

"With force." Marcos' mouth curved, "As long as you do things and do them well, people who have more than grievances against you will be convinced."

"Brother, I know." Alvaro bristled, "But I still think they're past it."

"That's all in the past. The problem is solved now, more than anything else."

At that, Marcos stopped and turned his head to look at Alvaro, "Aren't you going to take a few days off? I've granted it to you, go home and spend some time with Bonita and the kids." "And you, brother?"

"I'll be back later."

Marcos returned to the office and saw Paulina sitting on the couch, her head nodding slowly.

A helpless smile lifted the corners of his mouth.

He walked over and called softly, "Paulina."

Paulina's eyes widened at the sound and she looked up, her eyes rolling a little, "It's over?" "It's over."

Paulina lifted her arms and stretched, and asked again, "Did they give you a hard time?"

"How could they give me a hard time if everything is settled?"

"So,... is it possible to leave work early today?" Paulina looked at him expectantly.

Marcos smiled, "Yes."

"Great!"

Paulina happily stood up and got up so fast that her eyes suddenly turned black and she swayed.

"Paulina!" Marcos rushed to her aid, his face a little pale from shock.

"You probably didn't rest well." Paulina smiled at him, "Luckily, today I can finally rest."

"Silly." Marcos looked at her in anguish.

"I'm not an idiot!" Paulina gave him a blank look and then rolled over and laughed, "If I were an idiot, what would you want me for?"

"As long as it's you, I accept it."

Marcos took her in his arms, squeezing them as if he wanted to embed her inside himself.

Paulina lay quietly in his arms, her ears especially soothed by the sound of his steady heartbeat.

It was a long time before Mark released her and lowered his head.

They both looked at each other.

Marcos slowly lifted the corners of his lips, "Shall I take you for a walk?"

"Shopping?" Paulina didn't answer for a moment.

"It's rare that I get to leave work early, so I thought I'd take you for a walk." Marcos' tone was soft.

She had been very busy these days, and her whole being had been tense.

Even if she didn't say it, Marcos could feel it.

Paulina's eyes couldn't help but warm and she nodded vigorously, "Okay."

Marcos led Paulina to a shopping street in the center of town, which claimed to be a shopping street but was actually a J-Town attraction.

It was autumn and the weather was cooling, so the red maple leaves lining the street were especially pretty.

In the fall, the street does its best business and many people from neighboring towns come to visit.

They hold hands and intertwine their fingers as they slowly walk down the street.

"It's beautiful! I've only heard that this street is beautiful in the fall, but I've never seen it in the fall."

The wind in her face brings a slight chill to her face and Paulina can't help but sneeze.

"Cold?" Marcos' eyebrows furrowed.

Paulina sniffled, "A little."

Marcos took off his suit jacket and slipped it over his shoulders, "Put it on."

The jacket he had just taken off still had the warmth and smell of him.

Paulina obediently put it on, hugged his arms tightly and smiled, "It feels as warm as if you were holding me."

Mark stroked her head affectionately without saying anything.

Paulina looked up at the turquoise blue sky, her heart suddenly filled and she held his hand tightly, how nice it would be to be able to take such a nice walk every day.
