Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1476: Prince, something is wrong.
"He made fun of you?" Marcos turned his head and looked up at Alvaro.
His gaze seemed calm, but Alvaro still felt a sense of oppression.
"Brother, I'm not laughing at my sister-in-law, I'm just joking to liven things up." Having said that, Alvaro laughed twice in embarrassment.
"I was wrong about last night, behave yourself and don't get angry." Marcos withdrew his gaze and settled on Paulina's innocent little face, coaxing her gently.
Paulina burst out laughing, "I know, I'm not mad. You're teasing me, so I'm teasing you."
Marcos couldn't help but laugh, a fond smile on his face.
"My brother and sister-in-law are so affectionate." Alvaro suddenly had the feeling he was being redundant.
"Where's Bonita?" asked Paulina.
"She's still upstairs." Alvaro finished his glass of milk in one gulp and said, "Sister-in-law, you've had a hard time this morning."
Today was the day of Bonita's maternity check-up and Alvaro was supposed to accompany her, but since he had business to attend to at work, he had to ask Paulina to accompany Bonita to the hospital. "It's not difficult." Paulina smiled, "She's my niece, it's only fair that I accompany Bonita."
"That's very kind, sister-in-law." Alvaro had a touched look on his face.
"Leave the company to me, you accompany Bonita." Marcos spoke suddenly.
Alvaro turned his head to look at him and asked, somewhat uncertainly, "Is that okay with you?"
"Yes." Marcos nodded, "You should be with Bonita, so you know what the doctor says."
"Yes. Bonita would have wanted you to go with her too." Paulina agreed.
Alvaro thought about it and nodded, "Fine, I'll leave you the company then."
Marcos smiled and said nothing more.
...
When he learned that the Leoz Group had received a loan from Euro Pacific Bank, Chris was so angry that he threw the phone on the floor with a thud. "Why did this happen?" he yelled at Rawlins.
Rawlins didn't take kindly to being yelled at like that, his whole face darkened and he said coldly, "You're asking me, who am I asking?"
"Didn't you send someone to watch every move of the Leoz Group, and the ones you sent were all losers?". Chris was so angry that he couldn't just talk.
"If you think it's bullshit, then send your own men to keep an eye on it." Rawlins snapped back at him.
The atmosphere got a little tense for a moment.
The aide next to him looked at him with a cold sweat on his forehead, but still stiffened and advised, "Chairman, Mr. Chris, you've both calmed down now, don't hurt the peace over a Leoz Group."
At that, Rawlins took a deep breath, calmed down first, looked at Chris and said, "This is indeed outside our expectations. But now is not the time to get angry, we need to figure out what to do." Chris sat bolt upright on the couch, his face as black as a pot.
Rawlins continued, "The Leoz Group now has a loan and everything is back to normal. What we've done between us has been for nothing."
Chris clenched his fist and gritted his teeth. "I thought that even if the Leoz Group didn't go under, it would be a bad time to recover, but I never thought it would be this fast." "Marcos is very good."
That was what he hated the most.
He didn't want to admit that Marcos was better than him.
He was going to take down the Leoz Group and he was going to take down Marcos!
"What did Mr. Alvar say?" asked Chris.
At the mention of Mr. Alvar, Rawlins' face got even worse: "He's been fired from Anastasio."
"Fired?" Chris stared in amazement.
First of all, they had gone to a lot of trouble to bribe Mr. Alvar, the head of Euro Pacific Bank's credit department.
The Leoz Group's loan application had been stuck with Mr. Alvar, using the doubling of interest rates to keep Marcos out of trouble.
But who would have thought that Marcos would turn to Anastasio himself.
With Anastasio's approval, Mr. Alvar didn't dare delay the Leoz Group loan again.
"Anastasio felt that Mr. Alvar was in violation of the bank's rules and fired him." Rawlins said, "Mr. Alvar approached me and asked us to give him an accounting."
"An accounting?" Chris snorted coldly, "It didn't work out and I still don't have a score to settle with him."
"So what do we do now?" asked Rawlins.
Chris narrowed his eyes with a sinister look, "Anastasio dares to go against me, and I'm going to show him how bad it is to go against me!" Rawlins scowled, "What do you want to do?"
"Teach him a lesson, of course." A grim smile curved the corners of Chris's mouth.
...
After everything had returned to normal at the Leoz Group, Chris and the others hadn't made a move.
However, Marcos had not taken it lightly and still had people watching them.
But he didn't expect anything to happen to Anastasio.
That night, he had just finished his work and was getting up to go to his room when his phone rang.
It was Alfredo.
As soon as he picked it up, Alfredo's panicked voice reached him on the other end, "Prince, it's bad, something has happened." "What's wrong?"
"Mr. Anastasio has had a car accident."
Marcos made an astonished face: "Are you sure?".
"The news is out."
Marcos hung up the phone and hurried out the door.
He almost collided with Alvaro at the door.
"Where are you going in such a hurry, brother?" asked Alvaro curiously.
"Anastasio has been in a car accident."
Alvaro listened and his face changed, "How did it happen, are you going to the hospital now?"
Marcos said, "Yes," and went straight to his room.
Paulina was sitting on the bed reading a book and when she saw him come in, her mouth curved up and she asked quietly, "Are you done?" "Paulina, I have to go out for a while, you sleep first, don't wait for me."
It was then that Paulina noticed that his face did not look good and asked with concern, "Is something wrong?"
"A friend has had an accident, I'm going to check it out."
Marcos replied as he headed for the checkroom.
After a while he came out, he put on a simple casual suit.
"Be careful then." Paulina said.
"Go to bed soon." Marcos walked over to her and planted a kiss on her forehead before turning to leave.
When he came downstairs, Alvaro was already changed and waiting for him.
"Brother, I'm coming with you."
Marcos nodded and the two left one after the other.
Anastasio entered the operating room and his elderly father stood in the doorway, wiping away tears and looking much older for a moment.
Mark and Alvaro arrived just in time to see this scene, and both felt a little sad.
"Uncle!" Marcos walked over and called softly, "How is Mr. Anastasio?"
Hearing his voice, Anastasio's father's tears fell harder, "The doctor says it is especially serious, is it possible ... is it possible..."
Seeing Anastasio's father cry, Alvaro couldn't help but turn red, he reached up and gently patted Anastasio's father's back and said comfortingly, "Uncle, everything is going to be okay." Marcos looked up at the lights on in the operating room, his expression evasive.
