Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 150: Daddy wants to replace me a stepmother
Fletcher Godbold then taught Eloise Thompson how to make tea and talked a lot about the tea ceremony, to which Eloise Thompson listened with great interest, and the two had a good chat and a game of chess. Eloise Thompson had learned to play chess before, and she thought she was pretty good, but she still lost out to Fletcher Rogers.
Eloise Thompson smiled awkwardly, "Grandpa Fletcher is amazing."
Fletcher Godbold also smiled, having lost three games against Hector Rogers yesterday, the old man had been depressed all day, having spent most of his life playing chess that was no match for his own grandson. "You're not bad at chess, you little girl, not bad at chess, and witty enough."
The game was over and it was just after eight o'clock and Eloise Thompson was ready to go back.
Fletcher Godbold had to make a trip back, so he spoke up and said, "Come on! Grandpa's going back too, so I'll drop you off on the way."
Eloise Thompson thought about it, but didn't refuse.
When we arrived at the house, Eloise Thompson got out of the car and said goodbye to Fletcher Godbold: "Grandpa Fletcher then I'll go first." "Well, go on! See you tomorrow."
The senior smiled as he watched Eloise Thompson leave and then went back as well.
...
Eloise Thompson was in quite a good mood, this Fletcher Godbold is older but fun to be around.
Riding the lift to her floor, Eloise Thompson saw Solomon crouched in front of her house, his pink face sullen, with the Rogers family housekeeper beside him.
As soon as she saw herself, Solomon pounced on her and Eloise Thompson caught her in a hurry, her eyes flashed with surprise as she opened her mouth to enquire, "So Solomon's here, huh?"
At this time, it was the butler who followed him, and where was Hector Rogers?
The butler on the side sighed and spoke up in response, "Miss Eloise, Solomon and the young master are having a tantrum! Just ran out."
At that, Eloise Thompson froze and heard Solomon, nestled in her arms, speak pitifully, "Auntie Eloise don't kick me out, I don't want to see Daddy, Daddy is the worst, I hate Daddy."
Eloise Thompson wondered what was going on and asked the housekeeper what was going on.
Housekeeper: "Solomon made a fuss and refused to eat, got a lecture from the young master and ran away from home, then I had to bring him to you Miss Eloise."
At the end of the conversation, Eloise Thompson looked at Solomon with some tears of laughter at how she was still making a scene and not eating.
Knowing what was involved, Eloise Thompson knew that Solomon would not go back for a while, so she picked him up and spoke to the butler, "Uncle Zhang, you go back first! Tell your young master that I will look after Solomon." Uncle Zhang nodded, "Okay, I'll trouble Miss Eloise then."
After the housekeeper left, Eloise Thompson entered the house with Solomon in her arms.
Eloise Thompson was out for dinner, but still got Solomon something to eat.
By the time she arrived, Solomon had become a good boy and ate all the food Eloise Thompson made.
After the meal, Eloise Thompson washed him again and had Solomon change into his pyjamas and lie in bed.
Solomon couldn't have been happier to be in Eloise Thompson's arms, and even wished he had fought with his dad every day so he could come to Auntie Eloise.
It was still early and neither Solomon nor Eloise Thompson could sleep. Looking at the little one's face, Eloise Thompson spoke up with some confusion and asked, "Why is Solomon having a tantrum with Daddy?"
Eloise Thompson knew that Solomon had always had a good personality, especially with Hector Rogers, and if something hadn't gone wrong, the youngster would never have come to himself without eating.
Solomon's eyes were downcast and she didn't hide it, speaking up nicely, "Grandpa Zeng is having his 70th birthday in a while, and Grandma Zeng has called a bunch of famous girls for Daddy to pick from, saying she wants to replace me a stepmother."
Solomon paused and spoke again, "Daddy agreed..."
At that, Eloise Thompson was stunned, what was this all about?
Solomon wrapped his arms tightly around Eloise Thompson's neck and said with a hint of resignation in his voice, "I don't want another woman to be my stepmother, I want Auntie Eloise."
I don't know why, but Solomon just adores Auntie Eloise and always feels like he's with his mother.
Solomon has come to think of Eloise Thompson as his mother, and when he heard his great-grandmother say that his daddy was going to marry another woman to be his stepmother, the little man was furious and ran off in a tantrum with Hector Rogers.
Eloise Thompson is in tears, it's not like Solomon can just want it!
She knew better than anyone what the Rogers family had in mind, but she wondered if the Hector parents hadn't fallen for Reeva Lawson. Why did they have to choose again?
The more she thought about it, the more Eloise Thompson became disillusioned. The Rogers family would have given Hector Rogers the choice of many other famous women if not Reeva Lawson, and there was no way the Rogers family would have accepted a woman like her anyway.
Eloise Thompson's mouth curled into a faint smile, as if she was laughing to herself, then spoke to Solomon again, "Solomon, these are grown-up matters, and even if you make a scene, it won't help but spoil the relationship with your daddy, and that's not right."
Solomon blinked, his eyes clear and bright as he looked at Eloise Thompson.
"Is Auntie Eloise really going to watch Daddy get married to someone else? If they have another baby later, they won't love me."
At that, Eloise Thompson was stunned and just felt a sudden heartache for Solomon, yes! This little guy with such a bright mind must be more sensitive than others too.
Hector Rogers should have been more aware of this, and it looks like he'll have to be cautioned sometime before Solomon develops some kind of mental illness in the future.
Eloise Thompson stroked Solomon's head and spoke soothingly, "Your daddy loves you the most, how could he not love you, Solomon you have to trust him!"
Eloise Thompson knew that there was no way Hector Rogers wouldn't love Solomon, after all, it was his own son.
Solomon was nestled in the arms of Eloise Thompson, who knew in his heart that Hector Rogers had always loved him.
"But even so, Solomon doesn't want Daddy to marry another woman! If he marries someone else, Daddy won't bring Solomon to Auntie Eloise and Solomon will have to be separated from Auntie Eloise and I don't want to be separated from Auntie Eloise."
Eloise Thompson's eyes flickered slightly, her emotions suddenly becoming a little mixed; she hadn't realised that Solomon had become so attached to her.
And why should it be any different for herself! She doesn't want to leave Solomon either, but sooner or later the Rogers family will ask Hector Rogers to marry another woman, it could be Reeva Lawson or another woman, it can't be herself. Sooner or later she'll part ways with Solomon ...
For a moment, Eloise Thompson didn't know how to respond to Solomon, after all, she couldn't promise him that she would always be there for him.
