Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1512: Backstage Manipulation
Mark hung up the phone and immediately left the bedroom, walking to the study with a stony face.
He opened his computer and went to the page Alfredo had sent him.
A sensationalist headline jumped out.
--Whose fault is it that a very sick old man died in his bed?
Mark's brow furrowed as he quickly scanned the article.
The blogger was the daughter of the deceased man.
In her post, she mentioned how sad her life was, having lost her mother at a young age and living with her father. She had managed to graduate from college when her father became seriously ill and the family had very little savings. But she didn't give up and found a job at a daycare center. Who would have thought that a few days after starting work she would be fired by Marcos, the president of the Leoz Group, who used his power to fire her.
To this day, she does not know what mistake she made.
Without a job, she was left with no income and no money to pay her father's medical bills.
Her father died without waiting for her to pay the medical bills.
The whole piece is a sad story, full of accusations against the Leoz Group.
It is a common human tendency to sympathize with the weak.
Almost every comment on the Internet is about the Leoz Group and Marcos.
"Does money mean you can kill people?"
"No one deserves to die!"
"This is outrageous! This is a human life! Don't you have nightmares in your sleep at night?" There were even worse insults, and Mark slammed his laptop shut, his handsome face grim. He picked up his phone and called Alfredo.
"Tell the platform to delete it immediately and have the PR people prepare a solution by dawn."
"Yes."
Alfredo, on the other end of the phone, answered respectfully and, after hanging up the call, got down to business with what Mark had explained to him.
...
Marcos did not return to his room; he sat in his study until dawn.
Paulina got up and checked that he wasn't there, thinking he had gotten up early to go jogging.
She washed up and left the room. When she passed the study, she saw that the light was still on and went in.
Only to see Marcos sitting behind his desk.
"What are you doing here? I thought you went for a run in the morning?" asked Paulina, surprised.
Marcos raised his eyes and said in a light tone, "Something came up."
"What is it?" Paulina leaned closer.
"Juanetta's father has died."
Paulina's eyes widened in surprise, "Dead?"
She had met Juanetta at the hospital only two days ago and she had said she was trying to make money to save her father, how could it be only a few days later that he was dead? "Well, she posted on the internet that her father's death was caused by us firing her and causing her to be unable to pay his medical bills."
Paulina was a little grief-stricken, but there was always something that seemed wrong to her.
More than once she had told Juanetta that she could always ask her for help if she needed it, and had even offered to lend her money. How could Juanetta not come to her if she really couldn't pay her medical bills? No one would have seen her father leave .....
Also, the timing of Juanetta's father's death was so bizarre that it revealed something suspicious.
It was all... as if someone had planned it all.
Mark walked over and put his arm around her shoulder, "I'll take care of this, you don't have to worry."
Paulina frowned a little, "Of course I know you'll take care of it, but... I have a feeling this isn't that simple."
"Well, that's what worries me too, there may be someone behind the controls."
How else would a mere Juanetta dare sling mud at the Leoz Group like that.
Paulina's brow furrowed further, "So who's really messing with the Leoz Group then?"
"I'm going to replace out."
Marcos had gotten Alfredo to pull the post off the internet in time to squash the story, so no one at home knew yet.
He and Paulina didn't say anything either, and the two of them finished breakfast and rushed off to the office.
When they got to the office, Marcos immediately met with the PR team.
Paulina kept an eye on the Internet, fearing that Juanetta would post again and trigger the whole thing all over again.
Although the matter was hushed up, the internet was still talking about it.
Nothing but scolding the Leoz Group for paying for it to be squashed, and threatening to rely on the power of netizens to brush off the rumor.
Paulina was furious at his comments about the Leoz Group and Marcos, but there was nothing she could do about it.
No matter what she said on the Internet, all she could do was make the netizens angry.
He closed his notebook and took a deep breath.
She believed that the facts would speak for themselves and that the Leoz Group would always come clean.
Juanetta sat in front of her computer, staring at the screen with the message "Unsuccessful Submission", and pushed the keyboard back in annoyance, leaning against the back of her chair. The Leoz Group had contacted every media site, and no matter which one she posted on, it was always a failure.
If she kept this up, it would have no effect on the Leoz Group.
No!
Juanetta sat up straighter and gritted her teeth with hatred, she was going to make sure that the Leoz Group was in the middle of a public scandal and would never get out of it!
So she got up and went to her closet, pulled out a white shirt from there, changed into it and then cut out another strip of white cloth and wrote in red pen
Leoz Group unscrupulous business, bring my father back to life.
She smiled in satisfaction as she finished writing, Grupo Leoz was going to be the shit today.
...
Marcos returned to his office after the meeting, and no sooner had the man sat down than Alfredo came running in.
"Prince, it's no good, Juanetta is making a scene in front of the office."
Paulina, who was standing off to the side, stood up, "I'm going to go down and take a look."
It was something Mark couldn't do, but she couldn't, she could ask Juanetta to her face and ask her why she was doing it.
"Don't go." Mark stepped up to stop her, "If she's brave enough to come down here and cause trouble, she should be prepared for anything. It's not safe for her to go down there."
"So what do we do, let Juanetta make a scene?" Paulina was anxious, she was worried that if this kept up, the reputation of The Leoz family would suffer greatly.
"Have security pull people back." Marcos said quietly.
Alfredo's head hurt: "It's impossible to get rid of her. She fell to the ground crying and screaming before the security guards touched her, they don't dare move her at all." They really didn't dare move her, in case Juanetta went crazy and did something else, then the Leoz Group wouldn't even be able to jump into the yellow river!
