Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1516: He Is the Most Dangerous
The next day, after Paulina had seen Marcos off to work, she set out to go to the backyard to water the flowers.
Marcos had asked her to take a few days off at home because of the problems Juanetta had caused at work in the last few days, and that she would return to work when things had calmed down. He had just picked up the shower when suddenly his cell phone rang.
Seeing that it was an unknown number, she hung up.
But the person on the other end didn't seem to know how to give up and kept calling.
She had no choice but to pick up, "Hello."
"Sofia, it's been a long time."
The familiar voice came out of the receiver and Jiang Xue, almost by reflex, pressed the phone.
She gripped the phone tightly in her hand, panic written all over her small, plain face.
How could Bergerian call her?
No, how could Bergerian have her cell phone number?
What was he up to?
The phone rang again the moment the thought occurred to her.
Paulina squeezed the phone tighter and stared at the number on the screen.
What was coming, was coming, and avoidance was not the answer.
She took a deep breath and picked up the phone, "What do you want?"
"Heh."
Bergerian's low chuckle came and Paulina's heart fluttered, her grip on the phone tightening a little as she repeated the question, "What the hell do you want?" How could she show up again when her life had barely returned to normal?
She really was going crazy!
"I want to see you."
As soon as Bergerian's voice was heard, Paulina immediately replied, "I don't want to see you!".
The damage he had done to her and her family was such that she never wanted to see him again in her life!
Compared to anyone else, he was the most dangerous of all.
With this in mind, Paulina was about to hang up the phone.
At that moment, the Bergerian on the other end of the line said, "I may have evidence that will help the Leoz Group prove his innocence." Paulina held her breath as she listened.
He continued, "If you come out to see me, I will give you all the evidence."
Paulina opened her mouth to say yes, but then thought, "What if it's just a lie to get her out?".
She scoffed, "How am I supposed to know if you're telling the truth or not?".
Bergerian didn't get upset or angry at her question, "What happened at the Leoz Group this time was orchestrated by someone." "Okay, see you."
This time, Paulina did not hesitate for a moment.
Because what she said was the same thing Marcos had conjectured, and she would say it, so she had to know who had planned it.
If it would help the Leoz Group and Marcos, it was not impossible for her to risk it.
Paulina got up, changed her clothes and hurried downstairs.
Mrs. Gloria, seeing her in a hurry, asked her worriedly, "Paulina, are you going somewhere?"
"Mom, I'm going to meet someone, I'll be back soon."
With that, Paulina headed for the door with long strides.
Mrs. Gloria couldn't help but arch her eyebrows, "Who is she going to see, in such a hurry?".
...
Paulina headed for the place Bergerian had said, a beautifully decorated cafe.
She entered and was greeted warmly by the clerk, "Welcome."
Paulina smiled at her and asked, "Are there any foreign customers?".
"Yes, at the card table on the second floor."
The clerk led her up to the second floor, and immediately she saw Bergerian sitting by the window.
It had been so long that Paulina had forgotten the last time she had seen Bergerian.
To be more exact, she didn't even want to remember.
After thanking the sales clerk, she took a deep breath and slowly approached him.
At the sound of footsteps, Bergerian turned his head and, upon seeing her, his eyes lit up and he kept looking at her.
Paulina mentally told herself not to be nervous, not to be afraid, to treat it as if it were a meeting with a client.
She pulled out a chair and sat down across from Bergerian.
"I'm already here, are you going to give me the evidence?" asked Paulina, not wanting to waste time, getting straight to the point.
Bergerian stared at her, as if he hadn't heard her question, and wondered, "How have you been?"
Paulina turned her head slightly to the side, avoiding his overly passionate gaze, her tone indifferent and distant, "I've been doing fine without your interruptions." "And what about your body, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
"Have you thought about me after not seeing you for so long?"
"Has Marcos been good to you?"
...
Bergerian kept asking all kinds of questions, to which Paulina was able to answer at first, but as soon as she asked more, she got angry.
"What the hell do you mean, you called me out here just to ask me this?"
Her clear little face became much more animated as it was tinged with anger.
It was much better than the cold look she'd just had.
Bergerian rested his hand on his cheek and looked deeply at her, lifting the corner of his mouth, "I like seeing you angry!"
"Bergerian!" Paulina stood up indignantly, she was really angry, "Looks like we have nothing to say."
With that, she picked up her bag and turned to leave.
Bergerian couldn't let her go, he grabbed her hand, "Don't you want to save the Leoz Group?"
Paulina shook off his hand and looked at him coldly, "I want to. Then give me the proof."
"Sit down and let's talk slowly." Bergerian motioned with his eyes for her to sit down.
Paulina did as she was told and sat down with a cold face, "Go ahead."
"I can give you the evidence, but I have one condition." Bergerian said.
Paulina looked at him suspiciously, "What condition?".
Bergerian leaned back in his chair and the corner of his mouth curved, "I can give you any proof you want as long as you divorce Marcos." "Divorce?" Paulina gasped.
"Yes, as soon as you divorce, the Leoz Group will immediately regain innocence."
"Bergeriana, I really was too stupid to trust you."
With these words, Paulina put on her purse and walked away indignantly.
Bergerian remained seated, the smile slowly disappearing from her lips, her expression darkening, a chill in her eyes.
It wasn't that she was stupid, but that he was naive.
He thought he could get away with it, forgetting that she and Mark had a very deep bond.
Neither Paulina nor Bergerian noticed a black car parked diagonally in front of the coffee.
Lisa's hands gripped the steering wheel so tightly that her knuckles were white.
Her face, painted with delicate makeup, was twisted and scowling with anger.
When Bergerian had left the house, she had followed him on the sly, thinking he was meeting a client.
Instead, she saw Paulina.
Bergerian was meeting that slut without her knowing it.
Jealousy and anger filled her nerves and her back teeth clenched.
She squinted slowly, her eyes were shifting, Bergerian, you made me do this!
At that moment, Paulina drove by in her car, and immediately started the car to follow her, her eyes fixed on Paulina's car, her heart screamed with jealousy and hatred. Only when Paulina was dead would Bergerian truly die and return to her side!
