Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1522: Surprisingly trying to get him out of his corner.

"I'm happy."

Mark leaned in and rested his forehead against hers, looking into her clear pupils, eyes slightly red.

Paulina's heart sank and her eyes reddened, "I'm sorry I made you worry."

"No need to apologize." Mark took a step back and looked at her with a particularly gentle gaze, "It's good to be awake, is there anything else bothering you?" Paulina shook her head softly, "No."

Marcos asked Almeida and Sener to come in and check on her before calling home to let them know Paulina was awake.

After Almeida and Sener's examination, Paulina's body was fine and the virus in her system had been suppressed for the time being.

Marcos was relieved, but still a bit concerned, "How long will the virus be suppressed?"

"As long as the medication is taken regularly, the virus will not reappear for the time being. However, don't worry, Sener and I will replace a way to eliminate the virus as soon as possible." "Hmm."

Listening to their conversation, Paulina realized that the virus in her body had reactivated.

No wonder Mark was so excited and happy to see her awake.

He must have been very worried during the few days she was in a coma.

Paulina couldn't help but feel guilty that she hadn't listened to him and stayed home, that she had gone to see some Bergerian and that she had been in a car accident that had caused the virus to break out. Mark saw the remorseful expression on her face and asked quietly, "What's wrong?"

"It's because I didn't hear that I made them worry." said Paulina guiltily.

Marcos smiled, "People don't want to blame you."

He reached out and stroked her head as he continued, "But don't go out alone in the future, it's too dangerous."

Paulina nodded, "Yes."

She then asked with concern, "And how are things at the office, has it settled?".

Marcos was silent for a few seconds before telling her everything that had happened in the last few days.

Paulina couldn't believe it when she heard it, "So there's a lot more to Juanetta... deliberately smearing us, who's instructing her?"

"We are still looking into it." Mark said, "There should be results soon."

"And the cause of the old man's death, how is the police investigation going?"

"All that is known so far is that the old man didn't leave because he couldn't afford to pay for the treatment of his illness, maybe there was something else."

Hearing these words, a horrible thought flashed through Paulina's mind and she shook her head hurriedly. "I don't think ... is possible. Even if he wasn't her real father, he wouldn't be cruel enough to do that." "What's wrong?" asked Marcos.

"No, I was just wondering if the old man's death had anything to do with Juanetta." Paulina smiled reluctantly, "But Juanetta looks thin and frail, so it must have nothing to do with her."

"Until the police investigate, anything is possible." said Marcos meaningfully.

Paulina sighed, "I would never have thought things would be like this."

At that, she couldn't help but get a little angry, "I even told her I would help her, but even if she didn't appreciate it, she even tarnishes and discredits us."

"Don't get angry, take care of your health."

Marcos was more concerned about his health than Juanetta.

From what Almeida and the others had heard, the trigger for her previous attack had not been found, only that the virus had acted when she was in poor health.

And this time, because of the car accident, her body had indeed been affected.

But was it so simple?

Marcos thought for a moment before speaking slowly, "You went to see Bergerian?"

Paulina stared, "You knew."

Marcos raised an eyebrow, "Yes, I know."

His expression seemed weak, he couldn't tell if he was happy or not.

Paulina feared he misunderstood and hurried to explain, "There's a reason I'm going to see him. He called me and told me he had evidence that would prove the Leoz Group's innocence, so I went." "You believed him?" Marcos frowned.

"Of course I didn't believe him. I went on the chance that if he had proof, then it wasn't impossible for me to go see him for a while."

"And did you?"

Paulina pursed her lips, "I don't know if he does. I approached him for proof, but he asked me for ..."

Here she paused, her voice became guarded, "That I divorced you and that he would give me the proof."

Alvaro happened to walk in, overheard this and shouted, "Sister-in-law, who is it, who has made such a disgraceful offer?"

"What are you doing here?" Paulina looked at him in astonishment.

"My brother called home and said my sister-in-law had woken up, so I came to see."

Alvaro frowned, "Sister-in-law, who was it that wanted you to divorce my brother?"

Paulina looked at Marcos and noticed that his expression was still light, but his eyes were unusually deep and she couldn't help but feel a little wary. "It's Bergerian."

At the sound of the name, Alvaro couldn't help but blurt out, "Shit, is he sick, is he into you?"

But how could he be interested in his sister-in-law after what he had done to her?

"Yeah, I think he's sick too!" Paulina cursed next to Marcos as she looked at him, "He's out of his mind! It's not like he doesn't know that I have a dislike for him, and he's really sick to make such a request." Marcos' face turned visibly ugly.

Seeing this, Paulina was quick to make her feelings clear: "Marcos, you're the only one I've ever wanted in my life, no one can shake me."

Marcos knew what she wanted, but he was angry at Bergerian for not having the sense to try to push him away.

"I believe you." Marcos looked deeply at her.

Paulina smiled, "That's good."

Alvaro made a deliberate grimace and sneered, "Can you guys be considerate of my feelings, it's so meaty."

A cold knife shot came, followed by Marcos' cold voice, "Go away. Let your sister-in-law rest for a while."

Alvaro smiled at Paulina and turned to leave.

Marcos got up and tucked Paulina in, saying softly, "Don't worry so much, get some sleep."

Paulina let out a soft "mmm" and slowly closed her eyes.

She had not fully recovered and was sound asleep.

Mark turned and walked out, gently closing the door behind him.

"Sleeping?" asked Alvaro, who was waiting outside, suspiciously.

Marcos nodded, "Asleep. I need you to tell me about the Bergerian now, it needs to be crystal clear."

"Good." Alvaro pushed aside his playful smile and turned serious.

In Marcos' opinion, Bergerian had developed such a terrible virus that he should have been stopped a long time ago, so how could he still be moving freely now?

In any case, Bergerian was too dangerous a person, and he had to make sure he never came near Paulina again!
