Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 156: Each in his own mind
The insult came from Catherine Greaves and Eloise Thompson's gaze sank, she knew Catherine Greaves was upset at the moment, but she was no pushover herself.
Eloise Thompson's mouth curled up in a sneer as she said, "Who says you can't have dealings with a client once you've won a project?" "Catherine Greaves, the projects I've won have all been on merit, so don't think the worst of others if you're not capable."
Having said that, Eloise Thompson didn't want the information and went straight to Layla Davidson for general information about the other company, then went back to her seat.
Catherine Greaves was sitting in her seat, furious with herself, when everyone around her thought she was taking things too far out of context and clearly jealous of Eloise Thompson, and no one defended her.
She gritted her teeth to death, the head of this group at SR was hard to handle, she didn't believe Eloise Thompson could take the project and she would have to laugh at her when the time came.
...
In the evening, when Eloise Thompson left work, she asked her housekeeper to bring Solomon directly to the office, and when Solomon arrived, she led him directly to the Rogers Group. She herself has to travel tomorrow, so Solomon can't stay at her place alone either.
Once Hector Rogers knew Eloise Thompson was coming, he called his assistant down to greet her. Following her, Eloise Thompson led Solomon up the stairs in a private lift.
...
Hector Rogers' office door was where the secretary worked and, standing a short distance away, Reeva Lawson's gaze sank at the figure that appeared at the lift door. Eloise Thompson, what is this woman doing here?
Reeva Lawson's gaze grew even more sombre at the sight of Eloise Thompson with Solomon in her hands, the two of them talking and laughing, and for those who didn't know, a mother and daughter. This bitch, had she come to seduce Hector again, and why was Solomon being so affectionate to her? The point is, she came up in Hector Rogers' private lift, so what gives this woman the right? Naturally, she couldn't just watch Eloise Thompson walk into Hector Rogers' office and do nothing about it herself at the door.
...
Eloise Thompson and Solomon arrived and Hector Rogers dropped what he was doing, ordered his assistant to make a cup of coffee, and then asked, "What brings you here?"
Hector Rogers knows in his heart of hearts that Eloise Thompson would not have come to the Rogers Group to see him if he hadn't.
Eloise Thompson looked at Solomon and spoke, "I'm going to New York tomorrow on business, so I can't take Solomon."
Before Hector Rogers could say anything, Solomon said reluctantly, "Oh, Auntie Eloise is going on a business trip? For a few days?"
Solomon thought that he could take advantage of the time to spend more time with Eloise Thompson, but to his surprise Eloise Thompson had to travel... oooh, hard to cry. Eloise Thompson stroked Solomon's head and said, "I don't know about that, we'll have to sort things out over there and Auntie Eloise will be back as soon as she can." Solomon nodded good-naturedly, but had unhappiness written all over his face.
Hector Rogers was understanding, but simply opened his mouth to enquire, "What's so sudden?"
"The company decided on a temporary basis." Eloise Thompson responded.
Hector Rogers nodded and spoke again, asking, "Have you eaten yet? Want to join us?"
Just then, Reeva Lawson came in with coffee.
At the sight of her, Eloise Thompson's eyes flickered slightly as the words she had heard at the hospital came to mind and she spoke after a moment, "No, I'm busy packing, so I won't eat." With that said, Eloise Thompson said hello and left, her steps looking a little hurried.
Seeing her leave, a smile flashed across Reeva Lawson's face and she then said, "What's Miss Eloise doing in such a hurry? I didn't even get to have my coffee."
Reeva Lawson put her coffee on the table and looked at Eloise Thompson's back with a gloomy glint in her eyes, Hector Rogers had invited this woman to dinner again, but this Eloise Thompson had the sense to leave on her own. Hector Rogers frowned slightly and did not speak.
Reeva Lawson wanted to invite him and Solomon to dinner, but thought he would be turned down and left the office.
Sitting on the couch, Solomon stared at his daddy and said, "Daddy, did you upset Auntie Eloise again?"
Both Hector Rogers and Solomon could see that Eloise Thompson was avoiding him again, and Hector Rogers' eyes flashed in confusion, saying he was wronged, he hadn't done anything. What was the reason for this? Solomon sighed helplessly, it was obviously his daddy's fault, but he couldn't even have dinner with Auntie Eloise. If he had known, he would have had dinner before coming over, but now that he was separated, he didn't know how long it would be before he could see Auntie Eloise.
"Daddy, why don't I accompany Auntie Eloise to New York; Solomon will accompany her and also look after her on the way and help you keep an eye on her so no one else teases Auntie Eloise away, what do you think?" Solomon's gaze took on a hint of anticipation.
Hector Rogers glanced faintly at his son and spoke a little breathlessly, "Just you? Are you sure you're not there to slow her down?"
"Solomon how is that a drag on Auntie Eloise, I'll take care of myself and I'll take care of her, Daddy, I hear there are a lot of big handsome guys abroad, aren't you afraid that Auntie Eloise will fall for someone else and just not come back when the time comes, if she doesn't come back, how will you ah?" Solomon advised worriedly.
"No way."
How could Eloise Thompson not come on a business trip? Although he said so, Hector Rogers was still a bit worried about whether Eloise Thompson could take care of herself abroad, and of course, he was even more troubled by the fact that the woman was avoiding him again.
Solomon was still a bit reluctant to buy a ticket for himself and go with Auntie Eloise tomorrow, but there was no way Auntie Eloise would not take him on the plane!
Hector Rogers, knowing his son's mind, spoke up and admonished, "Your Auntie Eloise is there to work, don't even think about bothering her."
"Oh ... got it."
Solomon nodded, yes! Couldn't go and disturb Auntie Eloise at work, and the little one eventually gave up on the idea of going along.
Father and son each have their own thoughts.
...
Over here, Eloise Thompson went back with her mind scrambled, is Hector RogersSolomon eating with Reeva Lawson right now? Are they like a family ...
I don't know why, but Eloise Thompson was going to agree to join us for dinner just now, after all, she was going to be gone for a few days, but when she saw Reeva Lawson walk in, she figured she'd come along for dinner too ... Eloise Thompson declined right then and there.
I don't know how long it took, but Eloise Thompson tried desperately to shake off the unpleasantness in her mind and calmly gathered her things.
After packing up her things, she had another simple dinner, took a bath and then went to bed.
