Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 195: How dare she ask him to accompany another woman?
Once inside the party, Matriarch Rogers pulled Grandpa Fletcher into a conversation and asked, "Dad, how did you meet Miss Eloise?" Matriarch Rogers, who is the daughter of the old man, has never seen him so fond of an outsider.
The old man responded with a smile, "I met her by chance, this girl likes tea, she's quite to my liking, so she learned from me for a while."
At these words, Matriarch Rogers frowned slightly, the old man was teaching others about the tea ceremony.
Matriarch Rogers didn't say anything else, but looked subconsciously at Reeva Lawson.
Reeva Lawson was still looking elegant and dignified, but inside she was already mad that Eloise Thompson would not be present at the party and she would be able to seize the opportunity to please Grandpa Fletcher and get him to support her with Hector Rogers.
But I didn't expect Eloise Thompson to not only show up, but to be so close to Grandpa Fletcher, especially after hearing this about Grandpa Fletcher, who didn't seem to have known Eloise Thompson for very long either.
Over the years, Reeva Lawson has been abroad but has not failed to please the old man, often bringing him gifts from abroad.
Grandpa Fletcher looked like he was quite fond of himself but had never been so intimate with her, in contrast to Eloise Thompson, who was very different.
And by the looks of it, Grandpa Fletcher is rooting for Eloise Thompson and Hector Rogers to get together.
Reeva Lawson clenched her fingers tightly, not knowing why, it always felt like a joke, how she had tried and lost to this woman who had appeared out of nowhere.
Matriarch Rogers seemed to see that Reeva Lawson was upset and patted her hand as if to reassure her.
She sighed, Matriarch Rogers had not said anything bad about Eloise Thompson in front of Grandpa Fletcher before, and she wanted to take this opportunity today to also ask Grandpa Fletcher to persuade Hector Rogers to stay with Reeva Lawson, but she did not expect Eloise Thompson knows the old man, and he likes her so much...
Reeva Lawson looked at Matriarch Rogers and reluctantly lifted a smile.
Grandpa Fletcher, after all, was the star of the party and had many guests to entertain, so after bringing Eloise Thompson into the party he said, "Hector, you show Eloise around."
Having said that, he then looked at Eloise Thompson and smiled as he continued to speak, "Eloise, I have guests to entertain, so I won't be able to keep you company, let me, the grandson, keep you company! Remember to call me if you need anything, there's lots of good food at the party, remember to eat plenty,"
Eloise Thompson didn't care, "Grandpa Fletcher, don't worry! I'll take care of myself."
Grandpa Fletcher smiled and nodded, then left, Matriarch Rogers looked at Eloise Thompson, and Hector's father also followed Grandpa Fletcher.
Only Eloise ThompsonHector Rogers and Solomon were left in situ along with Reeva Lawson and Rupert Rogers.
Rupert Rogers was all smiles as he had been worried about what would happen if his brother was forced to marry by the elders today!
Not expecting his sister-in-law to turn up, he then remembered that Layla Davidson had said yesterday that Eloise Thompson had taken the day off work today, dare I say it, to attend the old man's birthday party.
It's great that Grandpa Fletcher and his sister-in-law know each other and have such a good relationship, it's just fate!
He then said that his brother and sister-in-law must have been made for each other.
The scene was in such a state that Rupert Rogers was not about to disturb his brother and sister-in-law's time together and tried to leave with Solomon in his arms, but Reeva Lawson was still here. Rupert Rogers thought it would be wise to walk away anyhow!
But Reeva Lawson didn't want to leave, she came forward and said with a smile, "Miss Eloise, let me show you around, Hector, you have guests to entertain later! Let me keep Miss Eloise company!" This was said like a hostess, and Hector Rogers frowned slightly, seemingly displeased.
Rupert Rogers also raised his eyebrows, this woman is not easy! Not only did she not leave at this moment, but she also said something like that, how dare she!
Hearing this, Eloise Thompson felt a little uncomfortable and spoke faintly to decline.
"No need, I planned this party in the first place, I probably know what's there, I'll just accompany Solomon to get something to eat." Having said that, Eloise Thompson took Solomon by the hand and left, not wanting to have any more dealings with Reeva Lawson. Hector Rogers saw Eloise Thompson go and naturally was striding over to follow.
She had been avoiding herself before, but today Eloise Thompson came to her door, and Hector Rogers wasn't about to let that go. Reeva Lawson saw this and tried to follow suit when Rupert Rogers was one step quicker and took the lead and pulled Reeva Lawson's wrist.
"Reeva, there's going to be an opening dance later! I don't have a partner for the dance, so you can keep me company!"
In any case, Rupert Rogers couldn't stand by and watch Reeva Lawson bother his brother and sister-in-law, so he had to do something at this point.
Reeva Lawson frowned slightly, her eyes still fixed on the direction Hector Rogers and Eloise Thompson had left, then smiled and spoke, "There are many more people over there waiting for your invitation Rupert!" "That won't do, this invitation, naturally, is to invite the brightest in the room, Reeva you'll do me a favour!"
Having said that, Rupert Rogers dragged Reeva Lawson away.
Reeva Lawson was full of resentment and would have struggled, but this was a party scene and wouldn't it be a shame for her, a Miss Sue, to struggle with Rupert Rogers here.
With no choice but to follow Rupert Rogers, Reeva Lawson had no choice but to leave.
A smug smile flashed in Rupert Rogers' eyes, trying to disturb his brother and sister-in-law, no way!
...
Over here, Eloise Thompson and Solomon went to get some food.
Solomon was being held by Eloise Thompson and the little one couldn't have looked happier.
"What would Solomon like to eat?" Eloise Thompson asked with a smile as she knelt down and opened her mouth.
"Auntie Eloise eats whatever Solomon eats!"
At that, Eloise Thompson's eyes flashed with a smile and when she saw Hector Rogers approaching, she stood up and looked behind her at Reeva Lawson and said, "What are you doing here? Don't you have to keep Miss Reeva company?" At the faint tone, Hector Rogers frowned slightly and pursed his lips, "It was you that Grandpa asked me to accompany."
Eloise Thompson turned to take her food, not bothering to look at Hector Rogers.
"You don't have to care what Grandpa Fletcher says, Solomon is fine with me."
At that, Hector Rogers' patience had reached its limit. Not only had she not looked at him at the party, but she had already lowered herself to her, and now she wanted him to go with another woman? Hector Rogers' tone turns a little gloomy when he thinks about all that has happened in the last few days.
