Love Comes To Me
Chapter 231: Hector Rogers' proposal of marriage

Eloise Thompson looked up, noticing the strange look in his eyes and was a little unsure.

Hector Rogers saw that she was lost in thought, her eyes darkening at her slowness.

He kept staring at her, and Eloise Thompson couldn't help but feel vindicated.

She clearly didn't do anything either, but had a casual dinner with Egbert Chumley.

Why does it make it look like you've done something wrong?

Not wanting Hector Rogers to get the wrong idea, Eloise Thompson hastened to explain, "I promised to take Alumni to dinner last time but got delayed with a stomach ache and I didn't want to owe him, so that's why ..." Before she could finish her sentence, she glanced up to see the flicker of his eyes and realised she had been fooled.

Annoyed, she gave the direct order of expulsion, "It's so late, aren't you going home?"

"That's about to get kicked out?" Hector Rogers raised his eyebrows slightly, replaceing her slightly annoyed look charming.

Eloise Thompson muttered, "It's not that I have to kick you out, I'm a big girl who's not married and I'm always staying late at night with unmarried men, it's not nice to be alone." Solomon listened, his bright eyes full of confusion, pouting as he asked, "Auntie Eloise, you forgot to include Solomon, you're not considered alone in the same room together." Eloise Thompson was surprised that this little guy knew all this at such a young age.

She couldn't help but blush when she saw Solomon hiding his mouth and sniggering.

Hector Rogers took the opportunity to tease, "Is this your way of reminding me that it's time to give you a name?"

Eloise Thompson blushed even more, in front of Solomon, he had the nerve to say that.

She denied it, "I didn't!"

Hector Rogers gave an "oh" and was sceptical.

Eloise Thompson scrambled to avert her eyes; his gaze was too hot.

"I... am not trying to marry you!" She thought for a moment, with a great deal of desire, and added again, "I just want Solomon!"

The more she explained, the more she couldn't make sense of it.

Hector Rogers did not move his eyes, but he did not let her say what she wanted to say.

Instead, Solomon listened and smiled at Hector Rogers, "Auntie Eloise, then I don't want Daddy either, I just want you too!"

"OK, I'm off then." Hector Rogers' face sank as he pushed straight through the door and left.

He left the two men in the hall staring at each other, a joke, and he took it seriously and gambled away.

Solomon spat out his tongue with some nervousness, "Auntie Eloise, do we have to go and get Daddy back?"

He blamed himself for the fact that Daddy seemed to have gotten away from him.

Eloise Thompson was about to go after him, but then she thought that she could concentrate on her plans without him staying overnight.

With that, she took Solomon into the room, took one of Solomon's favourite children's books and read it again and again.

Her voice was soft and full of emotion, and Solomon listened intently, his wide eyes gradually becoming misty.

Before Solomon drifted off to sleep, he nuzzled carefully into her arms and whispered, "Mummy ..."

Eloise Thompson's heart flutters and she can't help but think of her unseen children again.

Her chest was tight and she saw that Solomon was sleeping peacefully before she quietly withdrew her arm and pulled the door open to come out gingerly. The lights in the living room, which had been dimmed, came back on at that moment.

"Who?"

Is it possible that there is a burglar?

Eloise Thompson tensed up and looked around.

Hector Rogers poked his head out of the kitchen before she saw that he still had a large bag of drinks at his feet.

She walked over and helped him put the drinks away one by one with him.

The next moment, Eloise Thompson's hand was suddenly taken by Hector Rogers.

As if by a trick, he conjured up a pull tab from a can from his hand and looked serious in his proposal, "I'm in a hurry, so I'll use this instead for now and make it up later."

"What do you mean?" Eloise Thompson's face burned and she just pretended not to understand what he meant.

"Eloise Thompson, will you marry me?" He spoke with a rare hint of fear.

Eloise Thompson froze, her insides quickly hit by a gush of joy, but her mouth said, "That's not very sincere, is Mr Hector being perfunctory?"

Hearing this, Hector Rogers knew something was up, so he smiled and said, "I'm more sincere than anyone in proposing to you."

And I don't know if it was Eloise Thompson's fault, but she seemed to see the man blink before saying, "It's not that I'm afraid you'll be scared off. Keep this pull ring, you'll get a better replacement later." He wanted to send her all the best in the world.

Eloise Thompson saw how he was a different person now that he was always cool and spoke without warmth.

The love story is spoken without even a change of face.

Eloise Thompson's heart was poured with honey, so sweet that when a president of ... offered to spend the night at her house, she agreed in a daze.

--

Two days have passed since she was proposed to by Hector Rogers, but Eloise Thompson always feels surreal.

If she hadn't been so busy with work, she was afraid she would have thought about it a lot.

In the blink of an eye, Linn Dail finished her work and reported back to her, and they were ready to leave on time.

"Eloise, are you ready? I'm waiting for you downstairs." Eloise Thompson snapped when she got a call from Egbert Chumley.

She then remembered that she and Egbert Chumley had arranged in advance to go to the party together and Egbert Chumley would introduce her to the head of the project at Exley Corporation this time. Both Eloise Thompson and Egbert Chumley were dressed to the nines, and she was the centre of attention as soon as they entered, holding Egbert Chumley's hand.

Egbert Chumley was dressed in a high-fashion gown with another distinctive tie. Gentle and elegant in appearance, he is easily the centre of attention wherever he goes.

On his side, Eloise Thompson, in a square-necked, belted dress with a slight hint of retro bodice lacing, looked vintage and elegant with a vaguely girlish freshness to her. They are a perfect match.

However, the people at the banquet today are all prominent figures in the industry, and their eyes rest on them for just a moment.

Egbert Chumley led her inside, introducing her as he did so, "The person in charge of the project this time is a good friend of mine from abroad - Kevin."

He too had just got the news not long ago.

Kevin is a bit eccentric, demanding of cosmetic textures and extremely difficult to work with.

"Oh, yes, Kevin especially doesn't treat women well." Egbert Chumley thought.

Eloise Thompson frowned at the news.

At the banquet, people came and went, and as they mingled, she saw several competitors early on.

Several of the people in charge are male, so now she's afraid it's going to be a step up from the others.

"Don't worry, I'll introduce you later and Kevin will probably give me a bit of face time." Egbert Chumley, seeing her concern, spoke up to reassure her.

The two were about to step forward when Eloise Thompson caught a glimpse of Reeva Lawson, who had preceded her to Kevin.

She and Egbert Chumley stopped in their tracks and waited by.

During this time, Eloise Thompson didn't let up and kept a close eye on Reeva Lawson.

She found that Reeva Lawson and Kevin, when they spoke, had a fairly cordial atmosphere.

And I don't know if it was an illusion, but on a few occasions she could feel Reeva Lawson glancing at her with slight amusement.

"Eloise, you don't have to be nervous, I'm sure with your ability you won't lose to anyone."

Egbert Chumley duly reassured a somewhat unsettled Eloise Thompson.
