Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 247: Love Triangle Scene?
Eloise Thompson may have been a little uncomfortable, but hearing his voice calmed her instantly.
With her left hand being held by Hector Rogers and her right hand being pulled by Solomon, she really looked like a family of three to the eyes of the others.
When the three of them got closer, the gentry, who had been called by Rupert Rogers, stopped.
Rupert Rogers, although also a Rogers family man, is usually a good talker and is very well liked in high society, and all the gentry who come to see him are his brothers and follow his lead. At this moment, when they first saw that the male master was also present, they all greeted each other with incomparable formality and respectfulness.
How is it that two brothers, both from the same father and mother, are so different from each other?
Hector Rogers has always been unsmiling, one might even say, cold, when it comes to outsiders.
No one dares to accidentally provoke him, and if he is angered, his methods, too, are direct and ruthless.
Hector Rogers saw this restrained look on their faces, but smiled of his own accord.
He smiled so much and the atmosphere melted away, "We're all out to have fun, you don't have to be so formal."
He still hopes that it will be possible for everyone to have a good time.
Rupert Rogers, seeing the hesitation of the crowd, was also busy driving the mood, "That's right, that's right, my brother is not a man-eating demon, so you guys can play as much as you like." With Hector Rogers on the scene and Rupert Rogers on the scene, these gentry, who are by nature very good people, were able to play.
And at that moment, Reeva Lawson took the opportunity to come up with a smile on her face, "Hector, I heard that Rupert had organised this camping trip and was interested enough to come along."
At this point, she also paused deliberately to glance at Eloise Thompson with embarrassment, "I didn't think that Miss Eloise would actually be here."
Eloise Thompson's family background could not be better known to Reeva Lawson, who has certainly never been to an event like this before.
Reeva Lawson couldn't resist a dig, "Miss Eloise, it's your first time at one of our events and that's how they are, so you don't have to get too worked up about it."
Isn't there something in her words that implies that Eloise Thompson is not in the loop?
Eloise Thompson's heart went cold, but she said without moving, "Naturally not."
"Sister-in-law, what are you waiting for, come on over here!" Rupert Rogers and the others were ready to move up the hill.
Eloise Thompson also stopped paying attention to Reeva Lawson and bent down slightly, took Solomon's hand and asked with concern, "Solomon, can you climb up?"
Solomon used his other hand, patted his chest and said confidently, "Of course you can, Mummy, if you keep holding Solomon, Solomon will become even more powerful." When Eloise Thompson heard this, her eyes bent with laughter and she said, "Fine, fine, I'll hold you and not let go then, okay?"
With that, she took Solomon by the hand and moved on.
Out of courtesy, she didn't forget to say hello to Reeva Lawson, "Miss Reeva, we'll go first."
Reeva Lawson was almost frozen in place as she watched Hector Rogers follow with a doting face.
She couldn't believe it, no, she must have heard wrong, how could Solomon call Eloise Thompson ...
She hurried after her, even her voice becoming shrill, and asked at Solomon, "What did you just call her?"
Solomon was taken aback but said innocently, "Mummy, what's wrong with that? My daddy has proposed to mummy."
Reeva Lawson's face fell into a grimace and she couldn't stop trembling.
The mocking eyes of those gentry seemed to fall all over her.
Reeva Lawson was resigned to the fact that she was Matriarch Godbold's most desirable daughter-in-law. The word had already spread in their circles.
But now, Hector Rogers has gone behind her back and proposed to Eloise Thompson.
What about her?
What does Hector Rogers think she is, anyway?
A wave of anger, instantly surged up and she glared menacingly at Hector Rogers, "Hector Rogers, aren't you supposed to give me an explanation?" Explanation?
Hector Rogers just replaces Reeva Lawson hilarious, he has never had anything to do with her.
What was she to him and worthy of asking him for a statement. He didn't even bother to look at her, pulling Eloise Thompson and Solomon with him and heading after them towards Rupert Rogers. The gentry, who were looking at them curiously, had arrived at the scene of a love triangle?
It's quite a subtle atmosphere of sabre-rattling.
Rupert Rogers, knowing that they were always on the lookout, yelled, "What are you looking at, what are you looking at, let's go."
He took a few quick steps up the hill, not forgetting to turn around and shout, "By the way, if you're the last one to arrive, you're responsible for cooking."
At his words, he drew them to stop watching and each of them called out, scrambling up the hill.
It was Eloise Thompson, in contrast, who looked over at Reeva Lawson, who was steeped in rage, and frowned darkly.
Her hand, however, was suddenly grasped by Hector Rogers, "Eloise, don't take it personally, you know, you're the only one I have in mind."
Hector Rogers frowns when he thinks of the group of famous ladies Matriarch Godbold has been asking for him: "Reeva Lawson was one of the ones my mother took it upon herself to replace for me, but I never promised anyone, let alone wanted to marry anyone."
Eloise Thompson nodded, and the hint of self-recrimination that had arisen earlier from Reeva Lawson being shown up for a joke faded away.
They didn't follow Rupert Rogers and the others into a frenzy, and the three of them walked slowly up the hill, hand in hand.
There are beautiful views along the road and even some rare plants.
Solomon pointed curiously at the grasses that were either blooming brilliantly or growing strangely, and asked Eloise Thompson about them at every stop. "Mummy, what kind of flower is this?"
"Mummy, do you know what kind of grass this is?"
"Mummy, I think I know what this is, don't I ..."
Solomon is saying "Mummy" left and right, as if he wants to say it all at once today.
Eloise Thompson smiled and helplessly stroked Solomon's head, "Solomon, are you thirsty? Do you want a sip of water?"
Solomon shook his head and pulled her along again, bouncing all the way up the hill.
And Reeva Lawson, always glaring at them sulkily, kept a distance from them and followed them up the hill.
She watched as Hector Rogers and Eloise Thompson walked ahead, laughing and joking, ignoring her several times today, with a growing sense of resentment. On several occasions, she thought she could either turn around and go back and forget about it.
But she followed in the same footsteps, no, she still wanted an answer.
She has to go to Hector Rogers and ask him what it is about her that makes her inferior to Eloise Thompson and why she has been treated so cruelly by him. In her mind, question after question, all piled up, was on the verge of swallowing up her reason.
The hatred in Reeva Lawson's eyes was growing, and if she did not get a satisfactory answer today, she would not be blamed for really turning her back on her.
