Love Comes To Me
Chapter 273: Who is that man?

As the days went by, Eloise Thompson spent her days at home and at the office, except for weekends when she spent time with her mother at the hospital, and occasionally went to the supermarket for a few things.

A very uneventful day.

Although at first it was uncomfortable and she would not be able to sleep because she missed Hector Rogers and his son too much, gradually her life was filled with work and she did not have as much time to think about them. When I think of them in my spare time, I feel like it was a dream I had.

Now it's just a dream waking up.

She smiled plausibly; perhaps, soon, she would forget them, and they would forget her.

This is quite good.

...

Since Eloise Thompson joined the company, she has barely attended company dinners, much to the complaint of her colleagues.

"Eloise, you really don't get along, even if you don't go to the dinner, you don't even go to lunch with us, how can we get along with you?"

During the lunch break, several colleagues gathered around Eloise Thompson in a rather gung-ho manner.

Eloise Thompson knew they were just paying lip service and not really complaining about her.

So she smiled and explained, "I've just joined the company and I don't know a lot of its business very well, so I want to learn more about it." "Eloise, we've all been with the company for years, you want to know about the company, call us, what a relief."

"Yes, we eat and drink with you and answer all your questions, so it's much easier than knowing yourself."

"Thank you."

Eloise Thompson was a little touched by the warmth she felt in this strange city.

"Well, it's a deal, you've got to be there for the next get-together."

Eloise Thompson nodded, "Good."

Towards the end of the afternoon, the head of the department came out and clapped his hands together. Everyone dropped what they were doing and looked up.

"There's good news for everyone." The head of the department smiled so hard his eyes narrowed to slits.

Everyone looked at me and everyone looked at you, wondering what the good news was that made the supervisor so happy.

Only to hear the supervisor go on to say, "The development case for the City E site was approved by the top."

At these words, everyone froze for a few seconds and then burst into a cheer as everyone was excited.

Even Eloise Thompson couldn't help but laugh.

Everyone put in a lot of effort on this case, from visiting and researching to discussing the proposal and finalising it, which took a lot of time and effort. Fortunately, the programme was successfully approved by the senior management.

It's no wonder everyone is so excited.

"As a treat for everyone, tonight is on me."

As soon as the supervisor's words were spoken, everyone became even more excited.

"Eloise, you're coming along." The supervisor specifically named Eloise Thompson.

"That's right, Eloise, you have to come along today."

Colleagues also looked towards her.

Eloise Thompson smiled and nodded, "Yes, I'll come along."

It was the first time she had attended a get-together since she joined the company two months ago.

Eloise Thompson's mouth turned up a little deeper as she watched her happy and excited colleagues get into a good mood too.

...

The venue for the dinner was a famous clubhouse in City S.

Eloise Thompson was dragged into the opulently decorated lobby of the clubhouse by a colleague.

"This time the supervisor is so generous to invite us to dinner at a place like this."

Eloise Thompson just laughed and didn't say anything when the colleagues around her kept on feeling all kinds of emotions.

The supervisor and the club manager obviously knew each other, and the two were standing a short distance away talking.

Eloise Thompson and her colleague had their backs to the clubhouse door and did not see a group of people walk in at the entrance. "Mom, I'm out of town, let's talk about it at home."

Hector Rogers hangs up the phone, his face sullen and cold, his eyes unblinking as he looks ahead.

"Mr Hector, this way please."

He was surrounded by a group of people who followed his footsteps towards the lift.

"Who's that man? So handsome."

Someone exclaimed, and Eloise Thompson turned around in confusion, but could only see the group's backs.

In the crowd, she faintly saw a somewhat familiar figure.

Like Hector.

Despite the fact that the next second she dismissed the thought herself.

How could he possibly be here?

Eloise Thompson curled her lips in self-deprecation; it had been two months and she still thought of him without thinking about it.

"Let's go."

The supervisor shouted, and Eloise Thompson hurried back to follow the group towards the lift.

...

Meanwhile, City J.

Rupert Rogers raised an eyebrow as he watched his mother scowl and take the phone away from her ear, "Mum, my brother's in City S on business, just give it a rest for a few days." As he said this, he glanced at Synnove Fare, who was standing to one side.

The latter looked a little miserable with his head down.

But Rupert Rogers has no sympathy for her.

This has been rejected by his brother several times, why is he still so thick-skinned and doesn't know how to die?

His mother is stubborn, is she that stubborn too?

Only identify with his brother?

Hector's mother felt something was wrong and raised her eyes to glare at Rupert Rogers, questioning, "You're not joining your brother in lying to me, are you?"

Rupert Rogers exclaimed, "Mum, what are we lying to you for? If you don't believe me, go to the office and ask the others."

Hector's mother was reluctantly convinced, and she gave Rupert Rogers a stern look, "I can't believe you two brothers."

Rupert Rogers could not retort and could only laugh dryly.

"Synnove, I'm sorry, it was an oversight on Aunty's part to make you come back for nothing." Hector's mother walked up to Synnove Fare and looked at her with an apologetic face. Synnove Fare shook her head, "Auntie, it's okay. mr Hector is busy at work, I understand."

"You really do know so much." Hector's mother couldn't be happier with Synnove Fare.

Rupert Rogers almost rolled his eyes out of his head, if that's understanding, then what is understanding like his sister-in-law?

Besides, who knows if this Synnove what's-his-name could just be pretending to know things?

"Rupert," Hector's mother inclined her head, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye, "if your brother comes back, you have to let me know first, okay?" "Got it."

"I'm warning you, don't give me the masculine, or I'll arrest you on a blind date."

True to form, his mother knows how to hit a snake where it hurts, and caught Rupert Rogers' weakness at once.

He hasn't had enough fun yet, he's not going on a blind date!

Rupert Rogers smiled and said, "Don't worry, Mom, I'll be sure to let you know immediately right away."

"That's more like it."

Hector's mother's face eased up at this and she said to Synnove Fare, "Let's go back and come back when Hector gets back." "Good."

Synnove Fare followed Hector's mother out of the house.

As he watched them leave, Rupert Rogers breathed a long sigh of relief. He really felt sorry for his brother, and wondered when his mother would die.
