Love Comes To Me
Chapter 280: A ticket back to City J

It was a night of restless sleep for Eloise Thompson.

"Mummy, don't you want me?"

Solomon looked at her with big tears falling down his face.

Seeing him crying with his nose red, she was so distressed that she hurriedly shook her head to deny it, "No, I didn't not want you." "So where have you been? Why didn't you even come home?"

"I ... I ..." She didn't know how to explain to him except to say, "I'm sorry, Solomon, Mummy's a bit busy. I'll be home when I'm done." "Really?" Solomon's eyes widened, tears still welling up inside.

She smiled and nodded, "Mmm. Really."

Suddenly, Solomon turned pale, glared at her viciously, and yelled, "You lied! You cheat! Bad person! You're the bad guy!"

Having never seen Solomon so hysterical, she panicked and was scared, subconsciously reaching out to touch him, "Solomon, don't you mommy..." Solomon dodged her hand and smiled coldly, "You're not my mummy, not my mummy..."

Solomon's face faded into Hector Rogers' as he stared at her painfully, "Eloise, you've let me down so much, let's split up."

With that, Hector Rogers turned to leave.

"Hector!"

Eloise Thompson was awakened, staring at the ceiling with wide eyes, panic and unease written in her eyes.

The room was so quiet that only the sound of her breathing could be heard.

It turns out that... was just a dream.

She raised a hand over her eyes, her lips pursed, warm tears slipping from the corners.

When she hears that Solomon is missing during the day, she is so distracted all day that she wants to fly back to City J on wings. But she held it back hard.

With the power of the Rogers family, Solomon would soon be found.

Her going back would only make her more reluctant to leave them.

Wiping away her tears, she sat up, picked up her mobile phone from the bedside table, found Egbert Chumley's number and dialled it.

It rang for a while before the other side picked up.

"Eloise," Egbert Chumley's voice was a little raspy, as if he had just woken up.

Eloise Thompson realised with a jolt that something was wrong and looked down at the time, only to realise that it was now the early hours of the morning. She hastily apologised, "Alumni, I'm sorry for waking you up, it's my fault for not paying attention to the time, I ..."

"Huh..."

A low chuckle came from Egbert Chumley on the other side of the phone and Eloise Thompson frowned, "Alumni ..."

"Eloise, you don't have to apologize. There must be something wrong with you calling me at this late hour, right?" He was as gentle as ever.

Eloise Thompson's nose couldn't help but sink and her voice got a little choked up as she said, "Alumni, I'm sorry..."

Hearing her cry, Egbert Chumley, who had been lying in bed, sat up at once and asked anxiously, "Eloise, has something happened to you?"

"No." Knowing he couldn't see it, she busied herself with shaking her head, "It's not me, it's Solomon."

Solomon? Egbert Chumley frowned, "What's wrong with him?"

Eloise Thompson took a deep breath, "Alumni, would you mind seeing if Solomon has gone home for me?"

"Yes it can be. But can you tell me what's going on?"

Eloise Thompson told Egbert Chumley what had happened during the day, and the latter listened and fell silent.

"Alumni?" called Eloise Thompson out loud.

"Well, I am."

Eloise Thompson bit her lip, "Alumni, isn't that difficult?"

"No." Egbert Chumley smiled bitterly, even after making up her mind to leave City J, her heart still couldn't leave Hector Rogers and his son.

"When it's light, I'll go and check it out for you and I'll let you know if anything happens."

At that, Eloise Thompson rushed to thank her gratefully, "Thank you Alumni."

"Don't worry, with the power of the Rogers family the child should have been found. You should hurry up and get some sleep."

Eloise Thompson said "hmm" and hung up the phone.

Turning her head to look out the darkened window, she sighed.

Where can she sleep when she doesn't know about Solomon yet.

...

On the other hand, Egbert Chumley was also sleepless and contacted his assistant to replace out what was going on with the Rogers family. The results will soon be available.

"Mr Egbert, the young master of the Rogers family has been kidnapped."

At the news, Egbert Chumley was shocked, "Kidnapped?"

"Yes, it happened during the day."

Egbert Chumley hung up the phone and was torn.

Should he tell Eloise about it?

Or should we hide it?

If you tell her, given her personality, she will definitely come back to City J, and it will be difficult to leave then.

But if he doesn't tell her, she will definitely resent him one day when she replaces out, and maybe she won't even be able to be friends. Egbert Chumley laughed bitterly at the thought, thinking she'd have a chance on her own after leaving Hector Rogers.

But the truth is that her heart never left City J, never left Hector Rogers.

So how could he have had a chance?

Egbert Chumley already had the answer in mind.

...

Eloise Thompson had just arrived at the office when she received the call from Egbert Chumley.

She walked outside with the phone in her hand.

"Alumni, how's it going, has Solomon come home yet?"

Egbert Chumley was silent for a moment before he spoke up and said, "Eloise, don't get excited about what I'm going to say next."

At the sound of that, Eloise Thompson's heart lifted, "Did something happen to Solomon?"

"The child has been kidnapped."

Kidnapped?

Eloise Thompson's eyes suddenly went black and her body swayed for a moment before she recovered.

"What's going on?" She pursued anxiously.

"I heard that the child ran out on her own, saying she was going to replace her mother, and then was kidnapped halfway."

"Miss Eloise, where are you going?"

A colleague saw Eloise Thompson running out the door and asked with concern, but just as she did so, Eloise Thompson was no longer visible. "Is something wrong with this?"

A few colleagues looked at me, and I looked at you, and no one knew what had happened to make Eloise Thompson so flustered.

Eloise Thompson ran out of the office building and hailed a taxi on the side of the road.

"Driver, airport."

After giving her address, she turned her head to look out of the car window, her phone clutched tightly in her hand.

"I heard that the child ran out on her own and said she was looking for her mother."

Alumni's words seemed to echo in her ears, and Eloise Thompson clenched her fist to her mouth and bit it, anxious and very regretful.

Blame it on her.

Solomon wouldn't have run out and been kidnapped if he hadn't had to go looking for her.

Everything was her fault.

She hated the fact that she was the one who was kidnapped.

I guess the Rogers family hates her now.

Ever since I met Hector Rogers and Solomon, I seem to have caused them a lot of trouble.

She's a pain in the arse.

She couldn't resist slapping herself.

The car was quiet and the slap startled the driver.

"Why are you beating yourself up, girl?"

Eloise Thompson looked out of the window and didn't answer. The driver saw that she seemed to be in a bad mood, so he didn't ask any more questions and drove the car faster. It was soon time to arrive at the airport and Eloise Thompson rushed in as soon as she got out of the car.

"A ticket back to City J, the sooner the better."

"It will be an hour at the earliest."

An hour?

Eloise Thompson frowned as she gritted her teeth and bought it anyway.

Now that the plane was the fastest way to get back to City J, she had no other choice.
