Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 303: No need to do it yourself
Eloise patiently teaches Solomon to draw, not even noticing that someone has entered the room.
"We'll start by colouring in the sun now."
She buried her head in helping Solomon replace the right colour watercolour pencils, while Solomon, who was sitting next to her, turned his head without thinking and saw the man behind him, startled, "Daddy, what are you doing here?" At that, Eloise rushed to look back and saw Hector looking at them with a gentle, light smile.
"When did you get in?" She asked.
"It's been a while."
Eloise frowned, "Why are you even making a sound?"
Hector smiled, "You guys are very serious and I don't want to disturb you."
Especially when he saw them sitting together as a little girl and a big girl drawing, the picture was so sweet that he couldn't spoil it.
"Daddy, look at the picture my mummy taught me to draw."
Solomon held up the half-finished painting like a treasure and showed it to him.
The painting shows a meadow with three people, two adults and a child, holding hands, each with a large smiling face.
Hector's eyes were suddenly so gentle they could have dripped water.
"Is that a picture of us?" Hector asked.
"Hmm." Solomon nodded vigorously and then pointed to the people in the painting, "This is Daddy, this is Mommy, and then this is me." "It's a great painting."
At his compliment, Solomon's eyes narrowed with laughter.
"Daddy, Mummy said the name of the painting is 'The Happy Family'."
Hearing Solomon put his words into words, Eloise's face instantly heated up and she hurriedly explained, "I didn't know Solomon was drawing us, so I ..." Seeing her anxious to explain and unable to do so with a look of chagrin, Hector couldn't help but laugh out loud, "Eloise, don't you think we're a happy family?" "I... actually..." Eloise wasn't sure why she had to explain.
It was awful!
"Does it seem unreal to you?" Hector stared deeply at her.
Eloise nods gently.
Hector put his hand to his head, rubbed it and said in a soft voice, "Eloise, Solomon and I are both here, both real."
"I know."
She just felt this happiness was surreal, as if it would be gone if she wasn't careful.
Solomon flung himself into her arms, "Mummy, Daddy and I will always be there for you."
Eloise hugged him and smiled, "Mummy will be there for you too."
Looking at them so intimately, a light soft light swirled in Hector's eyes and the smile at the corners of his lips deepened by a few points.
...
After putting Solomon to bed, Eloise went to the study.
Hector was still busy with his work and when he heard footsteps, he looked up and saw it was her, his lips curled up, "Solomon asleep?"
"Hmm." Eloise walked over and sat down on the chaise longue, then looked up at him.
Seeing this, Hector simply put down the work he was doing and looked at her steadily, "Your father came to the house today?" She nodded her head.
"Did they give you a hard time?"
Eloise raised her eyebrows, "Yes there was a hard time for me, but I slapped Ela twice and it was a relief, it just hurt my hands."
Hector got up and walked over to her, squatting down and examining her hand carefully before looking up with a gentle smile, "Let the house maids do this sort of thing from now on, you don't have to do it yourself." "It's better to relieve yourself of such things."
Eloise said as she played with her fingers.
Both men fell into silence.
It was a long time before Hector spoke up and asked, "Do you feel guilty about losing Agnes' baby?" Eloise didn't say a word.
Hector stood up, "Eloise, you had nothing to do with the baby being gone, it was all Agnes' own doing."
"Hector," Eloise looked up at him, "I know it was Agnes' own doing, but the baby is innocent, isn't it?"
"I don't deny that the child is innocent, but you and your mother, aren't you?" Hector looked at her with a deep gaze.
"That's not the same." Eloise was suddenly annoyed, "The child has nothing to do with the feud between us adults, he doesn't know anything, he ..."
At this point, Eloise covers her face and closes her eyes in pain.
There has been no peace in her heart since she learned that Agnes' baby was gone.
It felt like a nightmare followed her.
"Eloise," Hector said in a serious tone as he gripped her shoulders, "remember, this has nothing to do with you, can you stop getting into your own head and thinking about it?" "I'm not imagining things!"
Eloise pushed his hand away in agitation and looked up, her eyes red, "Just let me calm myself down, I'm really struggling inside."
Hector reached out to touch her, but she dodged it.
He withdrew his hand and smiled to himself, "Must you embarrass yourself over someone else's business?"
Eloise bit her lip and didn't make a sound.
A sigh spilled from his lips as Hector said softly, "Eloise, sometimes being too nice can hurt you."
He smiled and said helplessly, "Calm down and cool off, maybe you'll figure it out."
With that, Hector walked out of the study, leaving her space.
Eloise tilted her head, her eyes closed and her thin brows furrowed in a slightly sad look.
She didn't want to, but she just couldn't help it.
What on earth would she have to do to get rid of this nightmare that was haunting her?
It was the first time in all the time she and Hector had known each other that they had fallen out.
Although he didn't say anything, she knew he must have been upset inside.
When you have thought about it yourself, you can apologise to him properly.
Hector returned to his room, still reassured by Eloise, and returned to his study, but Eloise was no longer there.
He couldn't help but smile, a smile that was full of helplessness.
Never mind, just let her cool off on her own.
...
The next day, Eloise got up and Hector had gone to work.
Eloise stood in the doorway of the restaurant, looking at where Hector was sitting, a little lost in thought.
Even if he was busy, he would still accompany her to have breakfast before going to work.
Is it because you're still angry from last night?
She suddenly got sad and suddenly felt a little unreasonable.
The housekeeper came over, saw her standing in the doorway and asked with concern, "Eloise, what's the matter with you? Why don't you go in for breakfast?"
At the sound of the voice, Eloise looked back and smiled back at him, "It's okay."
"The prince told me to tell you that he is going to be away on business for a few days and to ask you to call on the second prince if you have any problems." "Business trip?" Eloise frowned.
"Well, it said that there was a problem with a partner company abroad and the prince went over to see for himself."
Eloise's brow was furrowed, was this a real business trip or was she avoiding her because she was angry with her?
Seeing that she looked a little off, the butler said, "Eloise, are you not feeling well, or should I send the doctor over?" "No need."
Eloise had no desire to eat breakfast and hurried upstairs.
