Love Comes To Me
Chapter 320: You're the mastermind

Once inside the ward, Eloise invited Egbert to sit down and then poured him a glass of water.

"Thanks." Egbert took the water and hesitated before speaking, "Eloise, I'm actually here today because there's something else I want to tell you."

He had just hesitated and Eloise saw it in his eyes.

So she smiled and said, "Alumni, just say what you want."

"Well ..." Egbert weighed his words, "Here's the thing, I actually just got back from overseas today and came to see you as soon as I found out about you, I didn't even go back to the office." "Thank you Alumni for your concern." Eloise was touched.

"I'm not saying this to get you to thank me." A little chagrined, Egbert sighed lightly and continued, "What I'm really saying is that my company is working with a foreign company who has a new product coming to market and wants to build momentum to promote it."

"My company designed a promotional package and they weren't happy with it. I just showed them all your previous work, so ..."

At this point, Egbert pauses.

Eloise can probably guess what it is.

"Could it be that they want me to help with the design?" She asked tentatively.

At that, Egbert couldn't help but smile, "Eloise, you're really clever. Here's the thing, they want you to help them design the publicity programme."

At this point, Egbert hastened to add: "Of course, if you don't want to, you can refuse. I'll think of something else."

Eloise furrowed her brows in thought, "It's not that I don't want to. As you know I'm in a situation where I might not be able to help."

Although he already knew the outcome, Egbert couldn't help but be disappointed.

He took a deep breath and said with a smile, "It's my fault for showing them your design without your permission."

Eloise couldn't help but laugh softly.

Egbert looked bewildered, "Eloise, what's wrong?"

"Alumni, I was actually teasing you." Eloise looked at him with a smile.

"Teasing me?" Egbert was even more bewildered.

"I've been resting at home since I got back from City S. I've been eating and sleeping every day, and I'm getting sick of being idle, so I can't wait to have a job." Egbert frowned, "So what you're saying is ..."

It can't be what he thinks it is, can it?

Eloise's smile deepened, "Publicity programme, I'll do it."

At this statement, Egbert's eyes widened abruptly, "Really?"

"Uh-huh." Eloise nodded.

"Thank you so much, Eloise," Egbert stood up in excitement, "I can't thank you enough."

Eloise laughed at his excitement and said, "Alumni, you look like a kid who just got the toy he's wanted for so long, you're so happy you could fly into the sky." "That's the mood I'm in." Egbert let out a long breath, "I was going to say simply this partnership is off the table."

Eloise frowned slightly, "You've already made a deal with someone, changing your mind on the spur of the moment will have an impact on your company's reputation." "So... I am really grateful."

Egbert's gratitude is overwhelming.

Eloise shook her head gently, "It's nothing compared to what you've done for me."

Following that, she changed the subject and asked, "When do you want the design?"

"The product hasn't been formalised yet, so the other company has given half a month."

Eloise nodded and said, "Then email me the details of that company and product and I'll make a preliminary proposal out of it in the next few days."

"Are you physically able to do that?" Egbert was still a little uneasy.

"Don't worry, I'm not that weak." Eloise gave him a reassuring smile.

Egbert then nodded, "OK, I'll email you all the information later." "Good."

The two chatted for a while about other things before Egbert left.

...

Agnes went back to the hospital alone.

Seeing her back alone, Ela looked behind her and asked, "Where's Robbie? Did he go back?"

"Don't mention him to me." Agnes huffed, walking over to sit on the edge of the bed, a face grim and frightening.

Ela rushed over to her and asked with concern, "Did something happen? And, what did the police say?"

"Mum!" Agnes glared up at her, impatiently, "Will you leave me alone for a moment? I'm so upset inside right now!"

When Ela heard that, she said, "Okay, okay, okay, I won't ask anything."

She walked over to the side sofa and sat down, looking at Agnes worriedly.

Besides being angry at Robbie for leaving her behind and going off on her own, Agnes is also angry at Reeva for even attempting to pin everything on her.

We agreed to work together, but in the end, Reeva brushed herself off and used her name to fool that Lynn.

It's shameful!

If she hadn't been afraid of exposing herself too, she would have been tempted to just say it was all Reeva's doing.

No, she could never just let that Reeva woman get away with it.

If you want her to take the blame, it depends on whether she is willing to do so.

Agnes picked up her phone, found Reeva's number and dialed it.

Reeva saw that it was Agnes calling and hung up straight away.

But soon a text message came in.

If you don't answer the phone, I'll tell the police everything I know.

Reeva looked at the words on the screen, her whole body shaking with anger, how dare this woman threaten her!

Agnes called in once more.

This time, she picked up, "What can I do for you?"

Hearing the cold tone of her voice, Agnes burst out laughing in anger, "Reeva, you've got a big heart. Not only are you using me, but you want me to take the blame, I think your heart is just black!" At that, Reeva frowned, did she know everything?

"That's right, I know everything."

Reeva was startled by the sudden sound of Agnes' voice in her ear, and only then did she realise that she had accidentally blurted out what was on her mind.

"What do you know?" Reeva asked, playing dumb.

Agnes snorted, "Reeva, don't pretend. The police have found me, what do you think I could know?"

"And shame on you for lying to that Lynn about your name being Agnes, if he hadn't met you then I would have really had to take the blame for you." How did the police get so fast?

No, I should say that Lynn really did explain everything.

Reeva panicked, but quickly calmed down and said coldly, "That's not the right thing to say. You had a hand in this one, didn't you?"

"I'm in on it, but I'm an accomplice at best, and you're the mastermind, Reeva."

Reeva narrowed her eyes, "So you've told the police everything?"

"No. I'm not stupid, so how could I tell the police?"

Reeva was relieved to hear this.
