Love Comes To Me
Chapter 339: There's actually a hint of gratitude

Hector's father poured cold water over him at the right time and Hector's mother stopped talking.

It was only then that Hector's mother remembered that her youngest son was still in hospital and needed to be looked after, and although she was still a little worried about Solomon, she had to give up. "Well, Mum, just don't worry, I'll take care of Solomon and Eloise."

Knowing what Hector's mother was worried about, Hector reassured Hector's mother again before walking out the door.

Hector's mother returned to the kitchen in a somewhat depressed mood as she reluctantly sent the family away.

Sensing his wife's mood, Hector's father followed him into the kitchen and, seeing that Hector's mother was a little distracted, he reassured her, "Now that the children are older and have their own minds, it's time for you to let go." "But Solomon has just enough injuries on him to make me really uneasy, and it's Rupert's fault that I can't be with Solomon." Hector's mother stopped what she was doing and couldn't help but complain. "Ah-choo-"

At this point in the hospital bed Rupert sneezed and rubbed his nose muttering, "That's who's thinking of me."

Bored and swiping his phone again, Rupert couldn't sit still any longer, he was alone all these days and it was rare for him to even see the nurse in person, which for Rupert was worse than killing him. But that's good, the nurse doesn't come and he can go out on his own crutches and blow off steam.

It was a different kind of visual impact for him, who was used to seeing big scenes, to see all kinds of people going about their business in the courtyard, just ordinary people struggling to make a living.

For the sake of his recuperation, the director has forbidden the nurses to disturb him, but our Mr Rupert is so charming that many of his fans are willing to lean over the door and window at the risk of being punished by the director.

On this day Rupert came into the courtyard as usual and soon after sitting down, he heard a quarrel not far away, which was a novelty for him.

He pricked up his ears and listened and actually found three voices, including one he was familiar with, the little nurse.

As he tried to walk over, he heard the little nurse's angry rebuke, "Dougal, how could you do this to me!"

Rupert was a little puzzled as to what could have made the little nurse so angry when she usually seemed so nice.

Just as he was wondering, another woman's sharp voice came, her voice was quite able, "You still have the nerve to ask others, you don't even look at yourself, your family is average, your origins are average, you are old-fashioned and boring, it's strange that any man would like you."

At these words Rupert could not help but grimace, the woman's words were quite hurtful, I wonder how the little nurse would retort, and he could not help but feel playful at the thought.

At this point Aisly shouted, "Shut up, you don't have a say here!"

"Aisly, you're the one who should shut up, it's Darline I love now, you have no right to yell at her, not to mention she already has my baby in her belly too, and I'm telling you, it's completely over between us."

Almost at the same time, the man's voice followed, and Rupert cocked his toe to see that the man had walked off triumphantly with the woman, leaving the little nurse standing in the same place.

Only then did he realise that Aisly had been abused by a scumbag. On second thought, it seemed a bit out of place for him to appear here now, and he was just about to leave when he noticed Aisly walking over with her head hanging. Rupert couldn't help but inwardly wail that he was totally caught in the act, and somewhat embarrassedly explained, "That, I didn't mean to eavesdrop, I just came out to blow off some steam and I didn't expect to run into ..." Still speaking like a child who has done something wrong, his eyes dare not look directly at Aisly.

Aisly looked at him like that and smiled, "It's okay, if you hear it, you hear it."

At this point Rupert could neither leave nor not leave, but looking at Aisly's lost soul, it was not a good idea for him to leave now, so he simply sat back down again.

The air was very quiet for a while and Rupert looked at Aisly carefully, wanting to say something comforting but not knowing what to say, so he was worried.

Rupert prides himself on knowing women well, but there is nothing he can do about it today.

Just as he was almost freaking out, Aisly smiled and said, "It's embarrassing isn't it."

...

Rupert didn't know how to answer.

"Are all men so superficial nowadays? Because they don't give their bodies, they think women are old-fashioned and boring, but what's wrong with a little self-love? What's wrong with a little self-love? It's animals that think only with their lower bodies that are so boring."

Aisly laughed mockingly, as if talking to herself, or to Rupert.

At her words, Rupert was a little surprised to hear that she could think so openly, and thought she would be upset as hell.

When he turned his head, he saw the tears in the corners of her eyes, and Rupert had to hold back the words he had prepared.

But not wanting her to be too upset, Rupert put on a lighter face and said, "Actually you don't have to be upset, you should be happy, at least now you're free of the scum and doing the right thing, I'm all for it." Aisly gave him a blank look and said, "You're usually a good talker, but you don't have to comfort people like that."

At this Rupert said unconcernedly, "False consolations can only ease your mood, but of course it is better to be truthful."

Listening to his words, Aisly dropped her head and buried her face between her arms commiserating, "But I'm still sad, when I think of the two years I've spent dating a scumbag, I feel like I really don't deserve it ..." Rupert rubbed her head soothingly, "If you're sad, cry it out, venting is the best way to relieve your emotions, and if you can, it's even better with some wine."

As soon as she heard the word wine, Aisly glared at him, "I'm still on duty, where can I drink."

Rupert looked at his watch and said, "It's almost time for you to leave work, it's not that long ago, I can drink with you if you want."

Hearing that he wanted to accompany her, Aisly hastily refused, "Are you crazy, you're still injured, drinking is not good for your wounds."

Looking at her worried face, Rupert was a little amused, he looked at the wound on his leg and said without any concern, "What's a little wound to a man, just say the word and drink or not." Touched by his words, Aisly had no qualms and said straight away, "What do I care if you don't care, just wait."

With that, he got up and left, and as he watched her back, Rupert wondered why he was so glad.
