Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 404: The Ghost
The days passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye it was the day of the Blue Brower family clan's marriage.
That evening, Hector even left work early and said to Eloise, who was reading a file in his office, "Eloise, go back."
Eloise put down her papers, forgetting that she had to go to the wedding, and said after a long time, "What day is it? Why are you off so early."
Seeing her bewildered face, Hector thought it was cute and gave her a peck on the cheek before saying, "It's the day of the Gardner family and the Brower family's joint marriage and you're coming with me to the wedding." It dawned on Eloise and she said, a little embarrassed, "I forgot about that."
Hector smiled, "Well then, let's get packed up and we'll go home and change."
Once they were home, Hector turned to the maid next to him and said, "Bring the clothes Thomas sent over today and take the young lady up to change."
Eloise looked at him with a light in her eyes and said softly, "I can't believe you've even prepared this, I was just wondering what to wear on the way."
A truly thoughtful person is one who is prepared for even what you need.
Eloise felt that a person like Hector was what she wanted most.
Eloise went up with the maid to change, and by the way, she called out to the maid to put on her make-up; she was too tired today to want to do it herself.
She was too tired to put on her own make-up today. She waited until the maid brought her high heels and she changed into them before the whole look was completely finished.
She was wearing a pale blue floor-length dress with a pair of rhinestone-studded heels that just rightly accentuated her exquisite figure.
Hector watched her walk down the stairs. He waited for her to come to him before he whispered in her ear, "Eloise, you're beautiful."
Eloise was a little embarrassed by his comment and snapped, "Come on, don't miss the time then."
They walked arm in arm to the car and Hector opened the door for her before he walked around the front of the car and got in from the other side.
When they arrived at the wedding venue, they saw that the whole scene was grand and not vulgar, which made the two families look rich and also highlighted their aesthetics, which made them look very comfortable. Eloise looked at the pink rose archway in front of her and said softly, "This wedding venue is not badly decorated, it has a nice feel to it."
Hector said in her ear, "Don't worry, our future wedding will be even bigger and more luxurious than this."
His seriousness warmed Eloise's heart. He always did what he said he would do, and since he had said that, she was sure he would do it.
But then Eloise shook her head, "I care more about you than the wedding."
She didn't care how far the wedding would go, as long as the man in front of her only had eyes for her and was willing to give her his best, that was all that mattered.
Hector couldn't help but hold her hand tightly, "Fool."
The two of them entered the wedding venue arm in arm, and only when they appeared, the bride's parents rushed over to greet them, "Mr Hector, Mrs Hector, it's a blessing that you two are here, my daughter." Hector nodded and handed over the congratulatory gift, "Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Brower, a small token of appreciation."
The Brower family immediately came over and took it, thanking them again.
As soon as they heard about Mr and Mrs Hector, the crowd immediately understood that it was Mr and Mrs Hector who had come over, after all, Rupert did not have a girlfriend and would not have called them that even if he had come over. At this point, those who admired Hector and wanted to work with him also came up to exchange pleasantries, and when they saw Eloise, they also addressed her respectfully as "Mrs Hector."
By the time they had finished with them, more than ten minutes had passed, and it was only then that Eloise realised how exhausting Hector's usual socialising was.
In her eyes, it was hard enough to remember all these people, but it was too much trouble to greet them one by one.
Eloise whispered into Hector's ear, "How do you remember all these people?"
Hector raised an eyebrow and also leaned over to her ear and said, "Because I'm smart."
Although what he said was indeed true, Eloise felt that he was becoming more and more shameless lately, he used to be very high strung, so somehow, he was becoming more and more roguish.
Seeing Eloise's unconvinced look on her face, Hector felt in a good mood and a smile appeared at the corners of his mouth, if anything.
The smirk was caught by the person next to him and he exclaimed, "Oh my God, did I see that right, Mr Hector is actually smiling."
The people on the other side of the table were also surprised, and were even more curious about Eloise, what kind of person could make a man like Hector, who was as cold as ice, smile like a blossoming iron tree. Eloise couldn't help but laugh at their faces, because she was used to seeing Hector's cheeky face, and she felt like an alien when they said that.
Not too far away, Robbie and his parents, who had also noticed, watched with displeasure as Hector and Eloise took away Robbie's glory.
Robbie's father said with some disdain, "I can't believe Mr Hector has gone off with her."
Robbie didn't hear his father, because by this time he was staring at Eloise.
He had always thought Eloise was beautiful, and today she looked even more beautiful, and when he thought of all the things he had done with her in the past, he felt more and more resentful.
It was a pity that he hadn't got her in the end and let Hector take advantage of her instead.
As he thought about it, he looked at Mercia Brower, who was talking to Mercia's father, and felt a sense of loss.
Looking at Robbie with his eyes fixed on this side of the room, Hector showed his displeasure. He really didn't think that this beast would still be staring at Eloise even now.
He simply took Eloise by the waist and led her away.
Eloise said, somewhat puzzled, "Hector, where are you taking me?"
Hector said slightly jealously, "There's someone staring at you, shady as hell, makes you want to hit him."
Seeing his jealous look, Eloise couldn't help but laugh, "The air still feels pretty sour today."
This action by Hector naturally brought Robbie back to his senses, only to see him collect his emotions and look serious again.
It was at this point that the Master of Ceremonies announced the start of the wedding.
"Today, is a big day, the Gardner family and the Brower family, are also tying the knot on this big day, let's congratulate these two families together."
There was thunderous applause as soon as the words were spoken.
Eloise watched the MC talking hard on stage and couldn't help but spit out, "I feel like the most exhausting part of a wedding, apart from the bride and groom, should be the MC." Hector laughed, "He doesn't think so."
