Love Comes To Me
Chapter 406: Stay away from me

She immediately took the report card to Robbie's place.

"I want you to marry me." Agnes clutched the ultrasound results in her hand and looked at Robbie with a determined look in her eyes, "You Gardner family can't have an after so easily, you shouldn't leave him alone, should you?" "Heh."

Robbie had a cigarette in his hand, the red dot of it standing out in the somewhat dimly lit house, and the man's indifferent attitude had completely flustered Agnes.

The baby, it was the last thing she had left to hold on to.

The man's deep eyes reflected Agnes' delicate face, white mist curling up as a cold voice rang out, "You think, I can't have other women? Other women that can't get pregnant?" Agnes' face went pale and one hand clung to the edge of the table to support her weight so she wouldn't fall over.

She closed her eyes and asked in desperation, "What are you going to do with the baby? It's your own flesh and blood, and you're going to get him killed?"

The cigarette in his hand had almost reached its cap and Robbie dropped it to the floor, his polished leather shoes stamping on the unextinguished end, a gesture more like a warning to Agnes that if she dared to mess up then she would be as much under his feet as the smoke.

"The baby hit." Robbie said as he stopped the movement on his foot.

Agnes stared in disbelief, feeling downright unbelievable, the paper in her hand shaking with a harsh clang, "You're going to make me abort the baby? Robbie, how can you be so cruel?"

"I'm cruel?" Robbie hooked his lips in a smile as if he had heard a particularly funny joke, "If you have the ability to crawl into bed, then you have the ability to be prepared for the future, don't think that just because you have my child that you can hold me back."

Agnes knew it was no longer possible but was still hoping that Robbie would come around, "There's no turning back anyway, if you don't marry me, I'll tell the world about it! Do you know how badly it will affect you?" Robbie's eyes went cold, "You're threatening me?"

"How is that a threat?" Agnes moved closer to Robbie, her heels clattering on the floor with a regular thud, more like a coordinated orchestra playing a piece of music.

She leaned in so close she could almost smell the man's perfume, and Agnes smiled, placing the paper in her hand in his and saying, "I just want our children and a happy home, you wouldn't disagree, would you?" The strong smell of Agnes' perfume hits his nose and Robbie takes a few steps back in disgust, "Get away from me."

I don't know where Agnes got her contact details, but Stanley and Olive both got the news and called to replace out if it was true or not, Robbie didn't give them an answer, much to the anxiety of the two old men. When Robbie arrived home, the family butler saw him return and hurried up, whispering, "Prince, His Lordship's wife is here, waiting for you in the drawing room."

"I see." Taking off the suit jacket he was wearing and handing it to the butler, Robbie straightened his shirt sleeves as he made his way inside.

Inside, the décor was luxurious and extravagant, a large living room with two middle-aged men sitting in it, the woman in a cheongsam, her hair pulled back, her skin white and soft, blown-out like, not the slightest sign of age. At the sound of the door, Olive looked up and saw Robbie coming in.

With the baby on her mind, Olive hurriedly put down the magazine she was holding and greeted Robbie, asking, "Are you really pregnant?"

Robbie nodded and put a hand on Olive's shoulder, pushing Robbie's mother over to the sofa and giving her a sweet shoulder rub, coaxing kindly, "You, just stay out of it, I'll take care of it."

Olive snorted condescendingly, content to accept her son's services, not intending to listen to him, "With your nature, it's a wonder you'd bring the baby here, don't you think so, old man?"

To prove his point, Olive even asked Stanley, who was watching the television, to which Robbie's father nodded.

"Gee, I'm capable of handling my own affairs now, so why don't you guys stop worrying about it?" Robbie feigned anger and glared at Olive.

Having grown up watching Robbie and already knowing him like the back of his hand, Olive lounged comfortably on the sofa and looked at Robbie, saying in a consultative tone, "Why don't you pretend to obey for now, and we'll talk about those things later okay?"

Stanley and Olive's eagerness was clear to Robbie, and Stanley calmly analysed the current situation for Robbie, who had to do what Olive wanted, otherwise it would affect the reputation of the whole Gardner family. The news that the Gardner family had compromised was almost expected by Agnes.

Stanley and Olive asked Agnes out, and when Agnes went to see them both, she saw Robbie instead.

"Expecting me specifically?"

Agnes' heart warmed at the sight of him and, casually placing her bag on a side chair, she walked up behind Robbie, "You really don't want to give up on us after all."

Agnes wasn't surprised to see Robbie didn't react in the slightest, if Robbie was now treating her with respect, that was the thing that had her wondering.

Agnes pulled the chair directly beside Robbie and sat down, turning her head to look at Robbie with affection, "When are you going to have the wedding?"

At the sight of Agnes, Robbie's head echoed even more with Robbie's fatherRobbie's mother's voice, Robbie was not insensitive to the bigger picture and had to trade a moment of patience for the sake of the family's prosperity. "Just wait a little longer." Robbie pushed the ashtray in front of him away and picked up his chopsticks to take a bite of his food, not really wanting to address Agnes.

Agnes was immediately disappointed, the smile on her face unchanged, "Wait how long? Do you want me to wait forever?"

She wasn't stupid either, when Robbie said wait a while, he probably meant never ending, only waiting.

Robbie didn't answer either, but the expression on his face was clearly different from earlier, and he didn't make a point of explaining it to her, leaving Agnes alone with her fantasies.

Agnes couldn't stand the coldness any longer, so she shot up and questioned Robbie, "Do you want to marry me or not? Will you give me a response?"

"Yes." Robbie replied as he swallowed the dish in his mouth.

How could Agnes not know Robbie's personality when she had liked him for so long? Seeing Robbie in this state gave her a few good insights.

Agnes still didn't let Robbie off the hook and aggressively continued to ask, "Do you or don't you? Tell me the truth, don't lie to me."

Agnes and Robbie were at loggerheads over the matter because she felt that Robbie did not really want to marry her.

The Brower family also broke off the engagement with the Gardner family and cut off all business dealings, which was indeed a huge loss for the Gardner family.
