Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 491: Blame it on Yourself
"What does Mr Josh have to say?" Hector, who had been staring at him, suddenly spoke in a cold voice.
Josh stiffened, and, with a look of anger in his eyes. Mr Hector, Eloise is my daughter and I only wish her well, I have no intention of harming her." Hector snorted lightly, his eyes icy cold.
When it came down to it, there was nothing Josh could do.
It's already wrong anyway, and it's useless to explain.
For a moment, he even thought of giving Ela up, but in the end, he held back.
They were married and the Rogers family didn't necessarily let him off the hook when they gave up Ela.
Might as well care about Eloise and maybe salvage a little goodwill.
At his words, Hector couldn't help but scoff.
Is it only now that things are falling apart that you want to undo them?
It's too late!
Seeing that Hector was ignoring him, Josh had to change the subject and ask, "Mr Hector, can you tell me how Eloise is doing?" Now Josh seemed calm, but in fact he was anxious. At his mention of Eloise, Hector's demeanour shifted abruptly and his tone softened.
"She's still in hospital, I was too worried about Eloise earlier and got a bit anxious and misunderstood my father-in-law."
Josh didn't dare ask for an apology, he quickly said, "It's fine, it's fine, we're all doing it for Eloise's own good."
He thought that Hector was forgiving him and put his heart down.
But Hector's next words left him in a cold sweat.
"But this is not something I, the Rogers family, will rest on and will pursue to the end. Father-in-law, I wonder where the bird's nest was bought from?"
"That, I don't really remember, I've been buying a lot of stuff for the house lately and it's been a bit of a mess." Josh's eyes flickered slightly.
Hector's face was expressionless as he said, "Please, father-in-law, think it over again."
Josh gulped, his mind racing, and said stiffly, "I think it was from a friend, I can't remember who exactly."
He spoke in a fumbling, evasive manner, clearly aware but reluctant to say anything.
Hector watched coldly as Josh performed on the sidelines.
He doesn't remember that pretensions are false and defending someone is real.
Today, the Thompson family consists of Josh and Ela.
The only person Josh defends can be his stupid, toxic wife.
Hector couldn't help but have a flash of hostility in his eyes.
Josh came out of the office with weak arms and legs.
He got into the car and waited for a long time before easing back into it.
On the drive home, the anger in Josh's heart grew fuller rather than quenched.
His eyes were red with hate and as soon as he arrived home, he got out of the car in a big way and went to replace Ela.
Ela on the sofa grumbled when she heard Josh come in with a lot of movement.
But instead of that, Ela was shocked to see an extremely ugly face.
"Josh, what's wrong with you?" Ela asked suspiciously.
Josh stared at her viciously, with a look of terror: "Ela, I'm asking you, are you trying to get Eloise killed, and all your magnanimity and prayers for forgiveness are all pretend, aren't they?" "What are you talking about, I can't understand." Ela was too weak to look at Josh's face.
Josh let out a chuckle, a smile that didn't reach his eyes.
He stated quietly, "I know all about it. You asked me to deliver a tonic to Eloise, but put abortifacients in the bird's nest. It caused Eloise to go into hospital and almost miscarry."
Ela's heart leapt with joy, the bitch was in hospital, great.
But how come it was only a near miscarriage? That was a bargain for her.
"Talk!" Josh stared at her grimly.
Ela looked at her fingers and said stiffly, "I have nothing to say, what do you want from me when something happens to the Rogers family. josh, you don't want to be tricked by someone's words and come back to me to take the piss." If he hadn't read the medical records and test reports beforehand, Josh would have thought he had misunderstood Ela.
"You still don't admit it, do you? You asked me to send the bird's nest, and that has now been found to have abortifacient pills in it, what else do you want to say?"
Josh's voice was calm, but it was the calm before the storm, but unfortunately Ela didn't see it.
"You've decided it's me, Josh, you've joined forces with outsiders to bully me, you have no conscience!"
Ela raised her voice, but it was a stern one.
Josh tugged at her arm and said harshly, "Don't you dare say it wasn't you. Fine, swear on Agnes and I'll believe you."
Ela froze, then looked as if she had been scalded.
Jumping up and shaking Josh's hand off hard, he taunted, "What are you mad about, I don't care about you."
With those words, Ela turned around and tried to leave.
Josh saw that she had harmed someone and still took it so lightly.
Enraged, she raised her hand and gave her a hard slap.
There was a snap and five fingerprints quickly surfaced on Ela's face.
Josh's slap was delivered with full force and it buzzed Ela's head.
She covered her face and looked at Josh in disbelief.
How dare he hit her, how dare he hit her?
The next moment, she lunged, crashing headlong into Josh and tearing into him.
"Josh, you heartless piece of shit! I've been married to you for so many years, working and planning for you, giving you children. Now that the kids are older and you've grown up, how dare you hit me, Josh, you scum!" Josh was sick and tired of seeing her look like a shrew.
Throwing Ela off her, she said furiously, "Ela, why are you so vicious that you won't even spare an unborn child!"
Ela fell to the ground and wiped her face hard.
Tilting his head back at Josh, he snarled back.
"I spared her, and how has she ever spared my Agnes!"
At the words, Josh's face changed completely.
It's her, it's really her.
He looked at Ela with a strange and icy look.
Josh just felt that in all the years he had spent together, he had never seen this woman clearly.
The woman in front of her seemed to have turned into a huge monster.
The heart was consumed with great disappointment and anger.
"Agnes has a baby in her belly too and is out there alive and dead, all thanks to that bitch Eloise!" Ela yelled regardless as she had torn her face off anyway.
There is resentment and venom in the eyes.
Josh looked at her in shock and muttered, "You're crazy!"
"Yes, I'm mad."
Ela got up from the floor and said coldly, "Josh, Agnes is your daughter too, have you ever thought about her!"
Josh's forehead was bruised and he suppressed his stupid hand as he said patiently, "Agnes is to blame for what happened to her, what does Eloise have to do with it."
Ela snapped, "Without her, how could Agnes be out in the open? She is my daughter! If you don't feel sorry for her, I do! So I will make Eloise's life a living hell!" "Don't you dare!" Josh stormed.
Looking at Ela's true colours, Josh couldn't help but start to reflect.
Was the gentle, virtuous Ela he had seen before the real her or not?
